Blood Slaves verse

Plot

Tired of living in the underground, vampires have taken over the world. During the bloody takeover, more than half the population have been wiped, the rest have either been taken as slaves and/or pets, a small part hiding underground and developing a resistance. But small and lacking resources, they are mostly left alone by the vampires, knowing they are no threat.

It has been a hundred years since the revolution, and things are settling down easily. The vampires have adapted the buildings and services that were already built by the humans for themselves, of course there have been alterations, but life is back to normal. For the vampires.

Worldbuilding

Hierarchy in the vampire society is mainly held by power and age, as the older the vampire, the stronger one becomes.

The world is ruled by the strongest clans, each one getting a country to rule over.  From time to time, there are territorial disputes between clans, but most times then not, the world is somewhat peaceful.

There are quite a few uses for humans nowadays, while before they were only used as blood slaves, as there have been breeding programs, there is more variety. → Some humans are created almost like cattle, used for restaurants only for their blood, which can be fresh from the source or served in coctails.  → There are still the normal slaves, either rented from a store, or bought to be personal slaves → Personal slave lines, which are normally passed down the clan lines, are almost seen as an old legacy. → Sex slaves, which are usually held in clubs and used for sexual purposes. Their fee is either paid before use or is already included in the club fee. → Pedigree slaves are the slaves bred to have the best qualities, be it the best tasting blood or the best demeanour. They are highly regarded as the best type of slaves. → Wild humans are rarely seen near cities, but it is a treat when they are caught for those who still remember the old times. They are usually sold to the highest bidding in auctions.

Vampire Types

Noctum

The rarest of the four casts, this cast is reserved to the first vampires, the ones that were fused with demons. Because of that, not only do they have to feed from blood, but also sexual energy. In compensation, they are the strongest, both in magic prowess and physical strength.

Vertos

The second rarest cast, those are the vampires that developed the ability to change into nocturnal animals. They retain some characteristics of the animal when in human form, like bat vertos being able to echolocate or wolf vertos retaining canine traits.

Incantae

Third cast are the magicians, the ones that don't need spells or grimoires to utilize their magic, the strength is dependant on the age of the vampire.

Sensum

Sensums powers have to deal with emotions or sensations, they can either enhance or negate that which they have control over. The most powerful can deal with up to two emotions/sensations, but generally, there is just one of the two that they can weild.

World observations

Each species has a magic tattoo with a color so everyone knows what species they are, it can’t be covered up by magic, another tattoo or makeup. The tattoos are located in the inner part of their wrist.

Higher casts may find themselves in the same hierarchy as humans if it’s deemed a fit punishment by authorities. In that case, a navy bracelet is magically fitted to their wrist so everyone knows that person is now on the bottom of the hierarchy.

The law is nullified in the following spaces: Areas with high affluence of under 18 beings, police precincts, court houses, hospitals, kitchens, laboratories and any areas where there is a high risk of damage ( fires, etc... )

Besides the punishment system, there is also a reward system in place. Where outstanding members of the community are awarded with a personal slave for their unique use. These slaves wear a white collar with their owner’s tag and cannot be touched by anyone their owner doesn’t allow. The period of usage of such slaves is dependant on the size of the reward.

Free law use also covers marriages, being that if a being marries another of a higher cast, they are now considered part of the higher cast, their tattoo color magically changing to the color of their new cast.Ownership of certain people is possible under an unknown section of the freeuse law. For a certain price, a certificate of ownership will be issued by a court judge that virtually functions as a marriage contract without the equality given by such. The owned being then must wear a black collar with a tag with their owner’s name and information of contact, should the ownee get lost. This is a permanent binding unless another fee is paid for the annulment of the contract.
