the difference is that Azriel yearns for Elain to be his and Lucien yearns to be Elain's. the difference is that Azriel likes the idea of someone being "for him" and in his mind Elain will have to do and Lucien never wanted to feel this way for someone again but he just can't help it when it comes to Elain.

The battle between the safe nice boy and the dangerous bad boy is a trope as old as time, and as a life-long lonely Raoul stan (the only reason I ever got into POTO - which is now my favorite musical - is because in middle school I was given sheet music for “All I Ask of You”… so of course I was going to be biased towards Raoul 🤧) I love seeing it done again in ACOTAR, this time with many more people on my side 🤣 Elain and Lucien = Christine and Raoul!!
