Because I ended up turning my original portalsona into the main villain of Elemania, I decided to remake it!

I decided to centre the design around how I think a portal master from another world would translate into appearing in the Skylands, so it’s this sort of spirit like apparition coming in to help out, not truly apart of the world but able to interact with it (idk, thinking of the game logic where we’re the portal master but we play as the skylanders)

I really really like how this came out!! I’m definitely going to have to draw them goofing around

I genuinely love your redesigns sm you do a great job at taking the core essence of a character and doing your own thing with it it's always a pleasure to see!

Maybe this is a silly thing to post, but I really do appreciate all the love and support my Skylanders art has gotten, especially the redesigns (sometimes I get worried I’ve just butchered the character instead of improved them) and idk I was expecting how kind and enthusiastic this community would be (thought I would be talking to the wind ngl) so idk it means a lot personally

thinking about how 10 years ago, during the pre-release era of Superchargers, several sources confirmed that all the Nightfall figures had faulty chips which made her non-functional in the game and she could not come out on launch day as planned and they had to move her release to a later date. 10 years ago I had my first ever mental breakdown.

“My dear Roller Brawl is.. much more interested in the acts of those around her than I could ever be. She flutters around like her bat kin, anyone who can match that spirit of hers she claims as a friend, and the recent involvement of those racers has made her excitable. If she had her own vehicle, I’m sure she’d be out there in a heartbeat. Alas, that doesn’t seem to be in the cards for her at the moment, but her persistence will certainly reward her. Though.. I sometimes wonder if she’s doing this out of something besides her love of the sport. Roller Brawl has told me little of her own concerns, and I’ve found pressing only excerbates the problem, but I see how she worries. My dear, she would rather carry General Robot on her back than admit she’s afraid, but… I see the way she hovers, the way she lingers in the door. I fear she worries that we’ll disappear if she turns her back for too long,”

“Hex? Yeah, my girl isn’t one for people, not many of the other ‘Landers I can say she even likes being in the same room with. Which is so weird to me, you respect her space and she’ll like you fine. Honestly though, it’s probably for the best she doesn’t get along with everyone, she’s such a worrier. Her heart might not be beating like it used to, but I think it’d burst under the stress. Huh? Yeah, I’m not joking, can’t you see it? One time Stealth Elf had to go down to the Underworld, now, Stealth Elf’s good, one of the best! And Hex obviously knows that, but she still made sure she had her protection talisman on her like three different times before she left, and wouldn’t stop worrying till she got back. She don’t like talking about it, but I notice. I think she’s worried that the people she cares about won’t come back one day,”

I just finished my Skylander Giants playthrough! I have fond memories of this game, but unfortunately my copy is busted and can no longer save properly and it’s been like that for years, so most of my nostalgia revolves around the beginning of the game. I spent a lot of time on the Dread-Yacht and the place is very dear to me (I’ve always enjoyed exploring it), most of my time being w/ Persephone in her suite and if not w/ her I was with Ninjini doing what levels I could before I had to end my run. I don’t have that much time on my hands nowadays, and with the state of my Giants copy it’s unlikely that I’ll play it very often. So this is sort of final hurrah, an ode to my old memories and new ones I’ve made with this game while playing w/ my brother

Does anyone else really like the quests the Skylanders had in Giants and Swap Force? That was such a small feature that made the games so enjoyable to me especially with how they became more individual going from basic quests that everyone has, element specific quests and then one quest unique to every character which were so random and silly at times, like Jet-Vac having to suck up the small birds that appear throughout chapters lmao. I really wish they had kept those in the following games

I’m in such a sentimental mood after finishing SSA, I really don’t think I can overstate just how much that game feels like home to me. I haven’t played it since at least 2016, but the Ruins are still just as I remembered them to be.

When I was kid, I would just wander over that island, looking for sapphires, talking to the people on the island. I played so many puzzles w/ the lock imp, I’d go flying w/ Flynn, I just liked listening to everyone, like they were my friends. Even if Master Eon constantly reminded me to get on w/ the next objective, I still liked to hear his voice, it’s so kind and familiar to me. I really would recognize it anywhere

I had thought about resetting my Skylanders when I first started the game up again, but when I was confronted with these lovingly cared for characters after all these years I couldn’t bring myself too, bc something about the game having such a specific part of me in it as well felt too special

Spyro’s Adventure just feels like home, even after all these years apart, it welcomed me back with such a warm familiarity that there were a few times I was genuinely brought to tears. It’s such a cornerstone of my childhood, when I played it again it felt like I was reuniting w/ an old friend

How would your take on Nightfall from Skylanders look?

Not that different actually!! I think she’s already got a rather solid design all things considered, but if I come back to her w/ a better idea she might look different
