Less of an ask more of a heads-up, but both the newest IDW issue and the DC crossover thing have both been so momunetally ass its apparently causing people to leave the fandom, probably worth a look.
Funnily enough I just read the leaked #79 out of curiosity
The comments seemed pretty positive because it's all about the Feels, ofc. At this point, I've said way too many times "oh this surely will disillusion fans!" for me to believe it - they stuck through Tangle desecrating the name of Whisper's friends and Whisper apologizing for being upset over it, they stuck through Lanolin being an abusive insane piece of shit and getting away with the most Youtuber apology ever, they stuck through Surge flip flopping her character arc because her two writers can't cooperate for their lives, they stuck through Jewel condemning innocent people to death because she couldn't be bothered to pick up her phone. So I don't believe that the anticlimatic finale of the Whisper/Mimic drama would be enough to make them drop it.
So now Starline let himself be crushed under rubble, with his iconic epitaph of Big Oof, and Mimic peaced out of the comic because even he got sick of being reheated like leftovers. Do you think that if Clutch gets eliminated anytime soon, Eggman will finally become a main character again? Or will the story become so empty without the OCs, that at last viewers who only care about the OCs will get bored of it because nothing is happening, and the whole thing will go down before it starts to focus on the game characters?
#fans don't look#at this point it's not even fun making fun of it#it's all so empty and stale and going on by inertia#woohoo whisper's arc is done. she can join belle's ranks of characters that have nothing to do anymore#oh yeah silver sucked too but what else is new#idk i don't think anyone wants to work on this anymore#<<And yet they still do because these stupid fans keep accepting the mediocre quality because 'at least it's not the games'#But then cue them being surprised if/when the comic can't continue because it keeps losing sales and money because of the numerous leaks#And illegeal downloads because these same fans actually DON'T care about supporting what they claim to love if they don't have to pay for it

IDW Sonic makes me pretty cynical, and thus I can easily come up with cynical interpretations for why things are written or drawn in certain ways. Because, well... of course Silver "can only be so precise" with his powers, when, you know, it can be used to draw Whisper all coolly and suavely sipping at her drink in midair.
Who cares that Silver's boss battle in Generations shows he can pick up individual items one at a time and the intro to the scene shows he can throw them individually, too?
#Oh how am I not surprised at this point?#As long as IDW refuses to change for the better#It's a lost cause#Just wait for it to die#fans don't look

Fandom Problem #9360:
When the recently canon-flanderized version of your favorite character becomes the default fanon interpretation because everyone is more into the generic "buffoon lol" characterization archetype than something you'd think people would be into that specific character for, like their backstory and other nuances.
#*Intensely glares at IDW & Prime for flanderizing my boi*#Yet some fans will have the gall to call it 'blorbofication'#No that's just a nicer way of saying flanderization#While /still/ accusing Colors-Forces' portrayal of Sonic as such#Even though those games most certainly don't reach what recent spinoff media has done#Bite me

As well as their own self-imposed avatar of sorts that embodies their shallow cynicism in a franchise that's always emphasized 'friendship good' and 'only you are responsible for your own choices.'
They want to claim it's "refreshing," yet all I'm smelling is bullshit. The bullshit being that Flynn and Stanley simply wrote a bad character. Because they gave less of a fuck about proper storytelling than their stans clearly do.
Been seeing posts about Lan and the punching bag page and them saying "oh whats the issue she's just taking out her anger" yeah that's the issue. She's always angry.
"Oh, what's the issue with Lanolin pushing around literal war veterans who have been in the game longer than she has even existed?"
"Why are people so mad about how Lanolin puts her own self-importance over countless innocent lives?"
"So what if Lanolin's terrible leadership skill led to both of the only missions she has under her belt nearly ending in disaster?"
Let's be honest, people only like a character as unpleasant as her for no other reason than...

William Afton character rambling (SOTM spoilers ahead)
I see a lot of people complaining that Afton’s character has “changed” and that he’s “turned him from a villain with a backstory to a one dimensional villain who’s just evil to be evil.”
I hate to burst your bubble, but he’s always been that way. The point of William Afton as a character is that he’s a total loser who hides in a fucking rabbit suit. He’s not some overpowered supervillain, he’s a loser obsessed with becoming overpowered and knocking people off their pedestals so he can take it over.
Why do you think he targets children? They are smaller than him, easily manipulated. Adults are mostly killed by him in a secondhand way (possessed animatronics that he manipulated into doing his bidding), but he’s never the one doing that work.
Why do you think he sends Michael to the bunker? Because he doesn’t care if Michael dies. He knows the risks, but he views his own son as more of a tool.
The Silver Eyes straight up describes him as someone who spent a some of his life mistreated (whether that be he came from an abusive home, or something else), and rather than growing from that and being good — he “takes on the bitter mantle of sadism himself.” If you read between the lines of TSE trilogy, the journals are pointing out that he’s so obsessed with Henry’s abilities that it’s essentially just the incessant rambles of a madman. What does he do? He kills Charlie, which effectively drives Henry to kill himself. With Henry gone, William starts ripping his shit from him.
Sounds familiar? That’s literally what happens in SOTM. Edwin is just TSE Henry with a fake mustache slapped on him. William snatching shit and causing downfalls isn’t a new concept, it’s at the core of his character. He’s an evil man for the sake of self-serving to get what he wants. He doesn’t care about what he has to do, or who he has to knock out of his way, he only cares for himself. The people he surrounds himself are just stepping stools he uses to boost himself, and when he doesn’t need them, he rids of them (we see this in the movie with Vanessa. When she stands in the way of getting to Abby and Mike, he tries to kill her).
William is literally a grown up, bratty kid who throws tantrums when things don’t go their way.
He isn’t a villain born from tragedy, William Afton is a villain of his own making because he likes it that way. He gets joy out of destruction and taking things for himself.
And before anyone tries to bring up “but fnaf 4 is showing that his son died!!” I beg you to put yourself back in the fnaf 1-4 era where one of the biggest questions was “why the hell do nightguards keep coming back night after night?”
Because fnaf 4 wasn’t showing William’s motive, it was showing Michael’s motivation and why he goes through hell to try and undo everything. Michael made a mistake that he’s trying to redeem himself for. A child’s death wasn’t what marked the downfall of William Afton, William did it to himself by being a shady, selfish businessman.

I'm gonna post this twitter thread in the main tags because I think it explains everything of concern with the new game pretty thoroughly! I see a lot of people freaking out (I also did at first because of what I heard)
old information we have about Henry and William and the animatronics is basically untouched, they still made most everything, the new game just adds extra context and information to what was going on back when fazbear entertainment was getting off the ground. it makes sense for henry & william to not have made literally every single animatronic since fazbear ent. is a big chain of locations, but that doesn't mean they weren't responsible for plenty of stuff on their own still
