Cogless mechs can not open their spike or valve panels.

The Cybertronian body registers interface panel retraction and spike pressurization as partially transformative actions, and therefore a segment of the array's functionality is connected directly to the t-cog. This biological mishap is often used to further fuel prejudice against the cogless, as they are evidently "pleasureless" and "incomplete". Smaller, weaker, and born to submit to their cogged betters.

Despite what some may think, the cogless do still feel arousal like any other mech, and this can make it beyond frustrating to not possess any true interface utility.

But hardship does breed workarounds, or at least a means of managing things.

Miners have access to a number of power tools, many of which give off a decent amount of vibration. You press one of those handy pieces of equipment against your panel and pray the sensation is strong enough to get you an overload from your valve or spike sheath.

D-16 likes to see Orion Pax getting all hot and bothered with a tool bumping between his legs. D will just hold it against Orion, watching him squirm. Droplets of lubricant squeeze its way through the panel seams and trickle down onto Orion's thighs.

D will lean in close and whisper something lewd. Like what he imagines their spikes look like. Or what he would do to Orion's valve, if ever given the chance. The teasing is aggravating and exasperating, but it's also exactly what Orion loves to hear.

Gotta immediately bring up my boy sentinel TFA because the whole TFA bots having add on arrays is so fascinating to me when it comes to him. I think maybe his valve would be sort of frilly looking thing with a big bright node (maybe almost a pseudo spike?) it’s got big outer lips tho that hide the bright frills though.

Spike wise, he definitely opted for something thicker (maybe not necessarily long?) there’s some nice lights to it and texture but I definitely feel it’s less organic looking compared to his valve (totally not because it’s part of his fantasy to have an organic take interest it in no wayyyyyy)

Anyway horny idea over lol

I love add-on spikes/valves purely because it shows what the bot in question is into. Custom-interface arrays are a lucrative business for Autobots, but Decepticon ones tend to be even wilder

He just has an extra weird alien fluid cuz he’s shockwave. His spike expands and shrinks repeatedly inside a valve. Maybe has some freaky Organic alien attachment mechanism for when he’s inside someone. Maybe once inside, little bristles pop out that are soft and attach to the walls."

Added glowing insides because his key art has him acting like a glowstick. I did not expect to use cocoa as inspo, but man it's a perfect mix of organic/mechanical.

I didn't get to the fluid, but I like to think it's secreting a huge amount of joint lubricant (normal for spikes but he's just soaked in it)

Despite all the refs I've used trying to see how I can integrate a spike/valve to a bot design, I don't think I'll ever figure out how to make the transition smoother and be satisfied with it

Not an original thought by any means, but there is something erotic about controlling your partner in alt mode. Maybe they’ve been driven before and hadn’t given it much thought— but the way you grip their gearshift so firmly drives them crazy. The absolute control you exude over their body as you turn the steering wheel, the pressure of your foot easing from brake to gas pedal, several tons of steel completely at your mercy— it’s the most submissive they’ve felt in their entire life.
