Wants; Ninjago: Dark Kai (pre-season 8)

Please tell me I’m not the only one that really wanted a dark/evil Kai season? Because to me, he had some of the greatest reasons and backstory to be a villain. He was abandoned by both of his parents, leaving him to raise his 3 year old sister Nya when he was about 5-7 if I remember correctly. He got roped into working for Wu because of Nya getting kidnapped and has had to stay as a student of his because evil has no rest. And while he’s his student, he’s constantly being told that he’s not important or is useless, rarely getting any sort of praise or complements that aren’t backhanded. 

We’ve already seen one of Wu’s students, Morro, turn to the dark side, (granted that was when he died) and their reasons are very similar. They were both told that they might be the green ninja so they started working hard to live up to green ninja. And while Morro had more of a rejection and hatred reason to become a villain, Kai I think has more slow burned anger and hate with him being the verbal punching bag of the group. He’s consistently told that he’s useless by Wu and everyone else just berates him and putting him in second or in their shadow.

Therefor, having Kai become a villain or stopped being on “Team Good Guys” would’ve not only be a nice change of pace and be a good season, but I feel would be incredibly cathartic and therapeutic. Assuming he doesn’t get shoved back into the team and nothing changes by the end of the season. But that would probably happen if it was written now.
