His first instinctual thought is that this can't be real. But, having traveled the multiverse so long, he knows only one thing for certain: anything can be real. Including paradoxical time travel like this which should by all means shatter the space-time continuum. The Grandfather Paradox was practically elementary knowledge to Stanford. And yet, here he stood, speaking to what was undeniably his younger self — disproving that theory.

If that one isn't true, then what else isn't true? To hell with it. He wants to talk to his younger self, even if it technically may change absolutely nothing. He stoops down, smiling softly.

"Why, thank you, young man. I'm confident you'll find one of your own some day; don't you worry."

PSA: WHAT IS BLOCKING?

Blocking is;

A way to not see a particular user & their posts

A way to cultivate your space

A way to avoid conflict

Blocking ISN'T;

Inherently selfish & immature

Something you need an explanation for

'An awful thing to do to someone'

There's this odd movement of people trying to de-normalize blocking users. Trying to hide behind excuses such as "you need to communicate with your partners, it's immature to block someone out of the blue" and... No??? No. More likely than not, people who tend to get blocked the most by users are strangers they don't vibe with or rp partners they didn't even interact with that they no longer see themselves interacting with for any reason. More people need to see it as a red flag when people get super genuinely upset when one of the billions of people on the internet block them "out of the blue". If you cannot handle being blocked online, whether it's someone you apparently know, or some random who might've just fat fingered the block button and doesn't even know you exist, you shouldn't be online. Are there freak scenarios where someone shouldn't block someone? Maybe, but people should prioritize their mental health and simply block someone instead of engaging with someone out of obligation. This is a hobby, I can click what button I please. Not to say people will block their mutuals willy-nilly or you should be walking on eggshells, but it's time to stop viewing blocking someone as a "bad thing" or a "last resort".

An uneasy exhale leaves Ford's five o'clock enshadowed lips as he checks over his laser gun and crossbow, then returns both to their proper places — one across his back above a turn and tattered trenchcoat, the other into its holster at his hip.

"Alright, I can't force you. But it would be biologically-wise to conserve your energy. No matter the age of the man, a fight like that will do a number on you."

Not that he was particularly young, himself. His hair had gone gray ten or fifteen years ago. He'd lost count, really. A six-fingered hand lifted and adjusted his spectacles.

He had his own theories brewing already in that overclocked mind of his. But finding answers to any of those hypotheses would need to wait.

"Remiss as I am to admit it, you're right: we couldn't have made it without your spectral friend over there."

[🧪💜] Truer words had never been spoken before, except … maybe from Doc himself. How odd it was to be on the receiving end of it this time.

“You weren’t too shabby yourself out there. Eh, but c’mon now. I’m not that old—” as soon as the ‘not-so-old’ old man chuckled, a pained winced hissed through his toothy grin. Oo, yeah. That was a pinched sciatic. He held up a hand in defeat.

“Alright, alright. Just a breather, is all.”

Most notable was Doc’s one hand. The other made of metal was gone. The cybernetic prosthetic had long been torn off and now undoubtedly served as a chew toy for one of those foul abyssal abominations they all had narrowly escaped from, not too long ago. All that remained was the connector port of his shoulder— where a few loose wires sparked on occasion.

What a mess!

Yet, what a stroke of luck that they had run into the interdimensional traveler way out here in the beyond between worlds (another human, thank the stars above). Doc heaved a heavy huff and leaned against the abandoned walls of a dilapidated spaceship, before he passed a glance over to Ophelia, who slumbered away.

“At least for her sake. She got us out of that mess— ‘least we can do is let her rest.” They were safe. For now. “How’re you holdin’ up?”

These icons are a part of a HUGE icon project I completed in early 2017. I’m not asking for credit but if you’d like to link back to this blog to let people know where they can find icons then I’d be really grateful. A like would gently pet my ego, too. But no pressure.

Hey, so today is the 8th anniversary of the airing of "Not What He Seems"!

A landmark episode in so many ways, full of absolutely iconic moments... here's a quick take on just one of those.

Why are people confused by the concept of Ford having a disability/being disabled/representing a type of disabled experience - he literally has a limb difference/genetic mutation and while its never shown that it limits any of his functions I would strongly suggest he is affected by it in the way of bullying and social pressure as well as never having things made specifically for him. Bill is able to control him so much because he's alienated (he is very autistic in my mind but I don't think that was the intention of the writers to be honest) but he is also easy to control because of this pressure in his mind to be more than his body, to make a difference and finally be revered for his mind, something that as a disabled person I really understand.

You can argue that he wouldn't identify as disabled but there's no doubt he has a limb difference and is part of the visibly different community (how much of Lost Legends emphasizes his relationship with the word "freak" and finding community in freak shows?) C'mon baby, let me introduce you to the visibly disabled community and theory 101 you're safe here.
