His eyes open wide, he sits bolt upright, and he looks ready to fight, but hesitates because he can barely make out the figures in front of him. Being frozen for almost a century isn't good for the eyes

“Is he… alive?” A British accented woman asks.

Peggy resists the urge to reach out and touch him.

“Sorry. I’m rambling… you’ll put names to faces in due time.” Peggy replies, leading him up the ramp into the aircraft.

Her grip on him tightens. “I just. Thought I lost you.” She says softly.

“The last two hours for me have been… insane.” She admits looking up at him.

“I didn’t dare hope… and now. Here you are.”

“Oh come on now. You two may actually enjoy yourselves and if you don’t. You’ll certainly be making a group of old soldiers and ladies very happy.”

“I’m going to hold you back while he hits you later Wilson.” Peggy smiles pleasantly.

“I’m taking the chance that you two change your tune. Now if you’ll excuse me. I have someone I need to go talk to…” Sam says before disappearing into the crowd.

One of the nurses giggles.

“Come on…” Peggy says leading him to the jet.

“I do feel I ought to warn you about our little team. It’s a group of oddballs really. You aren’t the strangest among us…” she giggles to herself.

“That’s funny because Howard’s son is trying to seduce a Doctor with the last name of Strange… but she’s not a part of our group either… there’s a lot to tell you. I ought to have made a pamphlet.” She purses her lips.

“So we have Natasha who you met. And Tony- Howard’s son. Thor who we spoke about. Clint who is a spy who uses a bow and arrow. But he’s excellent at it. And last but not least. A doctor who… uh- radiated himself so much that he grew another personality….” She smiled sheepishly.
