Here is the final artefact. Composed from 23g of glycerol - 160ml of water - 8g of agar-agar. To create the mold I used a long ceramic cup that I froze before pouring the solution into it. I constantly turned around the mold while putting it under cold running water, to help the solution to feeze. After 1:30, I delicately unmolded it with a butter knife the help of gravity. After 48 hours of drying, the receptacle welcoming the water was ready.
Without the will of being a perfect cup, I love the texture of big bioplastic drops that froze while falling to the bottom.

When I was near my final artefact, I experimented with bees wax, to really create a waterproof container, as I was planing on pouring water in my final container.
I quickly realized that even if I just add 10g of bees wax in a simple agar-agar recipe, it becomes opaque and the whole purpose of demonstrating the beauty of water is failing.

Those are my experimentations with Tapioca ( I wanted to try out its waterproof capabalities ). It resulted as a rigid surface that was not that flexible.
I also copied the recipe with agar-agar from http://bioplastic-cookbook.schloss-post.com/agar-agar.html put instead of agar agar I chose to replace with crushed seaweed I bought in Gaspésie this summer. I loved the process because I really understood from were was the raw material from. Unfortunately, the chimical process did not work because the texture was really grainy and the substance never died.
I did a third experimentation where I mixed the seaweed- glycerol-water recipe with some green clay, to create a kind of sea ceramic, but it also never dried and I could not even take it out of his mold.

Here are some of my notes taken from my experimentation. The gelatine experimentation recipe is missing there, but I just followed the recipe Miranda gave us in class, I know for sure I wont use that biomaterial again, because I did not really appreciate the odor, its source and the final result of it.

Here are some experimentation I will show in my presentation.  My kitchen is a mess since three weeks, but I loved to just experiment by my self and feeling the power of endless possibilities. I reconnected with my love for biomaterials and for sur will want to continu experimenting in the future.

My kombucha scoby took a long time to grow. The scoby soaked in black tea and sugar for about a month and a week. The drying process took about 2weeks and a half and let me with a beautiful leather texture. I let the baby scoby sit in its mixture after taking the mother out and another mother is growing. I am amazed by its never stopping renewal property and how sustainable this means. I did not do anything with it yet, because I feel like it is too precious to test it out, but I will definitely continue my research on that biomaterial later.

Incident at Restigouche:
-Here are some of my notes on the documentary
- Sita and I discovered the amazing documentarist  Alanis Obomsawin
-I am so grateful to have done this research and pushing myself to understand better my country and its history
-The films Alanis have done are important to our culture. Her point of view on giving the voice to those who don’t always have the chance to and her powerful will to educate by sharing her legacy and heritage of this country are two pillars I want to bring in my design practice.

Experiment with : GELATINE
- I had a mix feeling with using gelatine as I am a vegetarian since I am born and I grew up with my mom telling me it was powder from cow bones (which is technically true), but I also thought about the fact that it is transforming waste into something that can be useful, so I decided to try it out
- I did few experiments capturing fresh plants, dried ones, pigments or even coffee ground
- The part where it went wrong is while I put  the disc shaped gelatine pieces in the mold, they were to thick and not elastic enough to take the shape. Almost all pieces snapped
-While drying a large number of mold spread on the surfaces of the pieces. Each day I had to brush them with white vinegar, but it then re-moisture the piece so It would never dry.
-The final pieces are a little shrank but rough
Conclusion:
- I questioned the quality of the air in my apartment for sure
- I think the rough property of gelatine while it is dried could be a very interesting thing to explore

This is my experimentations with eggshell. It was my first try with biomaterial and I loved creating the receipe and using old egg shell I kept for no reason. I realized I was less patience than I thought.
Notes:
-It took way more than 3 days to dry
- Even if I put them in molds to keep a bol shape, while drying they shrank into weird forms
-Molds also appeared on its surface and I could not do anything about it
conclusion:
-It was a fun experiment but I wasn’t really interested in going forward with that biomaterial

The second class of e-textile was still not my favorite class of the semester for sure but I loved discovering how electronic could be used in design and wearables.
