So I'm actually very sick and a little high on cold/flu medicine, but I had a thought.

Anakina Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, due to a series of mishaps caused by themselves, get transported from the first year of the clone wars...to roughly 30 years later.

On Tatooine.

During the rule of Daimyo Boba Fett.

With some of their men with them. Cody, Rex, the Domino Twins, Boil and Waxer, Kix and a few others.

Needless to say, the people of Tatooine are not sure what to make of these white armored men. They look like Stormtroopers, but Stormtrooper armor is a bit puffier than this.

And the young redhead looks an awful lot like Crazy Old Ben, who definitely died some 10 years ago.

And so, someone runs to get help from someone more qualified.

That someone, tragically, is someone who currently works at the palace under Boba. This poor employee takes one look at the group of clones and two jedi, and just kind of gestures to all of them, "Who—why?"

"Well," says Obi-Wan, "We're not sure how we got here—"

"I'm taking you to the Daimyo," the servant finally says, "I don't get paid enough—"

"Daimyo? You mean Jabba?" Anakin asks, his voice scornful.

"...Jabba has been dead some ten odd years. The Daimyo is Boba Fett."

Andor makes me want to write a Star Wars fanfiction but it's so scary. What if I write "Glup Shitto was sitting on the balcony, drinking coffee and reading his favourite book", but someone comments "didn't you mean he was drinking glop-goppy and reading a holo-journal? 🤨" so I open wookiepedia to check it out and it turns out that they also never invented balconies in the star wars universe and Glup Shitto can't read because of the freak accident he suffered in the episode 10 of the 2024 show "Jar-Jar and Babu Frik". What then.

Thinking about a clone wars rom com playing out in the halls of the Venators, with camera cuts to the other clones just being increasingly exasperated by the nonsense they have to put up with.

ok so i really love how andor shows the most smart and competent imperials ending up dead or in a cell because they were smarter and more competent. because in the end that's true of fascism in real life. they want the appearance of being ruthless and pragmatic and dedicated to maintaining order or whatever but the thing is looking that way often ironically requires actually being the opposite. the focus on arresting and imprisoning and executing as many people as possible detracts from a legitimate focus on managing actual important problems and whatnot.

the dedra meeros and lio partagazes of the world can't get very far as a direct result of the fact that the fascist system they serve doesn't want people who will do whatever it takes, it wants people who will prioritize making a big show of being scary and throwing their weight around.

andor is such a great demonstration of how fascism isn't just evil. it's also stupid and impractical.
