They can go on telling the Dasey story that we all want and deserve, for the next ten years, I'll be right there, not moving a toe from where I'm standing.
(Seriously, how many pictures did they take that day, and how many are they going to share🙏 )

Derek stumbled into the kitchen, reading the clock on the stove. It was two in the morning and he was at home on a Friday night rather than at a party. Definitely not how he pictured his first week at University. He blamed Tina and Stacey. How was he supposed to know the two knew eachother? Or that they were twins? They looked nothing alike! Still, badmouthing him to the whole dorm was a bit much. He’d give it a week for everyone to forget. A groan from the other end of the kitchen startled him from his thoughts. Squinting in the dark, he made out a small form on the ground.
“Casey?”
He turned on the kitchen light and Casey threw her hands in front of her face.
“Nooooo.”
Well, that’s what he thought the garbled response must have meant.
He turned off the light and sat down next to her, the nightlight in the foyer casting a soft orange glow over her.
“Are you just getting back? Now?”
“Yeah.”
Okay that was English, that was a good sign. Derek sighed.
“Great, Casey has plans on a Friday night and I don’t.”
“Tina—”
“I don’t need a play by play, I was there,” he replied bitterly. Casey scooted closer, till her head was resting on his thigh. His whole body seized.
“Hey Godzilla, I don’t want your—”
A light snore interrupted him. Still frozen, he took a moment to study her. Her hair was splayed over his lap, she’d curled against the warmth of his thigh. She was wearing pink gloss on her lips. And some other stuff, but it was hard to look away when she used that gloss. He lightly pushed her hair from her forehead.
“Never mind,” he said, softly.
She was still wearing her dress, but managed to take her shoes off. A small, tight dress that was now caressing every inch of her in ways he’d never admit he’d thought about. He looked away quickly and scrambled to take off his own hoodie and draped it over her. She responded by pulling it tighter against her body.
She’d gone out to the dorm mixer, which only newbies went to. Derek wouldn’t have been caught dead at those things. Which made it a perfect place for Casey. He was surprised she had even gotten drunk.
A darker thought hit him. She’d been unresponsive when she got him. Had someone tampered with her drink? Damn, he should have gone with her! She definitely smelled like beer. He looked frantically and found her phone under her arm. He used her fingerprint to unlock it. There was a message from someone named Vanessa.
So much fun meeting you Casey! I put your keys on your front desk when I brought you home. Text me to tomorrow so I know you’re alive after those two beers!
Derek’s shoulders relaxed. The lightweight had just gotten drunk for the first time. He tried to ignore the way his heart beat loudly and painfully at the thought of anything happening to Casey.
He looked down at her sleeping form. She smiled in her sleep, and his heart leapt into his throat. With a trembling hand he caressed her cheek lightly.
“I’m fucked, aren’t I?” He whispered.

I'm still thinking about Casey's husband because there's such a gold mine there...
No one looks surprised he didn't even raise an eyebrow when the kids went missing and got arrested or when Sky and Luca were missing and came back with Sky broken and Luca feeling awful. No one bats an eyelash at the fact that a guy that supposedly values his family more than anything didn't even text Casey.
Luca admits that he doesn't see his dad for half of the year and he's jealous that Sky gets to spend every day with hers, and the other kids don't even really bother to mention Peter. They're 7 and 8, ages where stories of parental woes and dads being dumb are a critical part of morning meetings on school days.
Casey is one step away from a nervous breakdown and at no point did anyone think to call her husband; no, instead, it was pure coincidence that had Derek come.
It seemed like George and Nora were barely aware Casey had a husband; they were calm and collected and obviously happy with the fact that Derek and Casey were getting along.
It's inferred that Derek plays hockey in college. Did Casey start going out with Peter to spite him? There has to be a story there; Derek hates it when his friends are into her.
Probably the most upsetting point of this whole thing is that Casey is running herself ragged because she thinks it's what marriage and such are supposed to be like and Derek can't even save her from herself because she won't talk about it.
