lockbordesâ:
Lock was definitely taken back by the attitude of the kid. After all, there had only been one previous interaction between them both. Not enough to warrant such anger, and quick to jump aggression. Sure, heâd messed around with him in that moment but he was sure someone needed some anger management classes. Maybe heâd been ready to go soft on the boy, but if he didnât put some sense into him someone could do much worst. An so, in that moment he got straight into the kids face with a bright smile, holding onto his shoulder relaxed. There was no point in giving in to him when there were so much people around. No, thatâd be too much really, but maybe he could use this to his advantage.
âRelax,â he said. âI meant no harm by that at all. Sometimes i forget that not everybody had a little brother to mess around with. I meant absolutely no harm by it.â Raising both hands palm up trying to ease the situation. âI suppose you donât remember me? I saw you running. We had an interaction?â Tapping his chin thoughtfully, a bright smile on his face. âYou should be careful with your tone of voice. There is quite a bit of danger out there, you know? I just worry for you.â
Eyes were alert without losing sight of the individual who claimed that the two had already met before. Not a big deal, maybe that was truth but Dash wasn't calm enough to listen the reason. Maybe he was a dick for acting that way but his head was filled with too much at the moment. Normally, everything would be taking as a joke and then move on but after agreeing to have accepted with his father to 'not use the powers' and the fact that someone sneaked on him, it would not be difficult to connect the dots of why so much bad mood. Not like that guy needs to know the reason. Lips closed in a defiant expression as the other man smiled to him, supposing that it would be better to try to maintain a serene attitude despite feeling that everything was going to explode. Eyes closed, control of breathing to remember that you had to keep everything under control and not pay all that anger with that guy.
"Sorry." An eyebrow raised, of course he had a brother to mess with it if it weren't for the fact that the boy had too many powers to even consider it. "It's just a bit bizarre that someone who I barely know comes from behind and tries to surprise that way. Don't do it again." Not wanting to be demanding or sound agressive, head tilting to the side as the hand scratched his chin thoughtfully. Lot of people went to the races, but this one wasn't someone who could just blend in the public. There were things that could go unnoticed, as if some kind of hidden emotion danced in the eyes of that individual whose smile was somewhat disturbing, in Dash's opinion. "Are you sure that we really talked before? Not to sound suspicious, but I doubt that I could forget someone like you." Not rude or anything, but probably not thrilled with it either as a step was taken back to create distance. Not knowing how to really deal with all of this and just wanting to go back and forget this conversation. "Advice accepted, although why would there be danger here in a masquerade? Like, there's tons of peoples and guards so it would be stupid trying to harm someone and expecting that no one sees anything." Eyes looking suspiciously, though deciding to take everything more lightly and offer the benefit of the doubt. Genuine concern for someone's wellbeing? "So, mistery guy, why are you worried about me? We barely know each other. Can I help you with something or you just want to talk? Also, Who are you?"

Bob was more than comfortable sitting in silence - he currently had nothing to say of any importance anyway. Helen had warned him not to make another scene at this event - not that he had plans to start yelling at his son for no reason, but just to be safe he figured it was best to just go ahead and remain quiet. But it seemed Dash had different plans. âWe always come to these things,â he reminds the boy, unsure why it would be a surprise. Ever since Jack-Jack was old enough to start joining them, Bob and Helen hadnât missed a single event hosted by the island with the exception of some of the more wild late night parties. At the question of could they be at peace, Bob simply raised an eyebrow - not that Dash could see it behind his mask. âSo youâre going to stop using your powers all the time?âÂ
It would be a bad thing not to say that that question had not been around the athlete's head for a long time. The most primitive and savage part of the interior roared with rage at the mere thought of leaving that advantage out of itself. The reasonable part that for some reason was becoming more present did not think the same, rather acting as the voice of conscience that began to create doubts in Dash's mind. Sliding a fork between his fingers, he never thought he had to make such an important decision, especially in a masquerade full of picturesque people. "If I agree to do that. Will we be at peace and there will be no more reproaches?" All the time seems a bit extreme, but it's not like there was another option to fix the relationship, the blond man let out a sigh, not out of rage or boredom but in resignation. At least Dash was willing to step up even if it led to giving up a certain part of who he was. Maybe a prank could fall from time to time but it would be best to create a low profile for a while. "I, Dash Parr, am willing to do it and not use any powers." It was undeniable that there was a certain sadness and hidden anger for saying that, but he would not back down as his shoulders shrugged into a pose of surrender. Just wanting that everything could be as it was before. "What do you say, Dad?"

Raising an eyebrow in provocation was a silent art that many never dared to back down. Or wanted. So common in Dash is that of not thinking about the consequences and with the head totally focused on the number of glasses placed on the table, each one filled to the top with a different liquid ranging from being simple drinks to being alcoholic. So stupid but yet feeling daring to do it. As long as he remembers to keep the motuh sup to keep the secrets away from the other man, everything would be fine. Probably. And also, it was a challenge was two. "Simple rules bud, when one finishes a glass, the other one should do the same with another glass. To the bottom." Naveen and Dash weren't exactly best friends, but rather well-known aquitances who shared certain friends but the atmosphere of the party made this factor far away. "Not pauses or asking for help. Chicken out or vomiting is an automatic loss for the loser. So, ready to enter in this mess, Mister Maldonia?" The smile never left his face, at the same time that his eyes studied each of the glasses as if they were interesting challenges, not caring if people won't like that kind of activity in a party like a masquerade. Gaze turned to Naveen, bowing awkwardly for mispositioning his feet. "Do you want to do the honors, your majesty?" @naveenmaldoniaâ

Dash just rolled his eyes as the fingers pressed against the handle of the glass as if it helped, illogical but it is not as if that term could be used with the athlete every time a piece of the past returned to hit. AKA Iridessa the teacher's pet. Both being totally opposing forces who barely support being in the same place, murderous glances that were not disguised, although most of the time it was he who threw himself at her to provoke a kind of personal competition that only involved the two. No matter if they weren't kids anymore, stubbornness could be bigger than reasoning. "What's the big deal this time? Trying to tell the teacher about something I did, Smarty?" Dash make a pause to take a sip of his blueberry ginger fizz, raising an eyebrown with some arrogance. "That's practically your style." He knew that he was a troublemaker, but thinking about those years, there was no reason for Dessa to rat out her classmate, not leaving space to just forgive and move on. Adjusting the mask with a grunt, he leaned back to leave some distance, only to reach out and grab one of the appetizers laid out on the table. "Are you going to start the new year with a good deed or whatever is called?" That was more formal, trying to focus the attention in whatever that was happening around the ball. Not seeing anything interesting or worth of attention, He tauntingly stuck the tongue out. "So noble on your behalf, always sticking for the goodness" @iridcssaluxâ

There was something about him that certainly had captured Samâs attention and she had a feeling keeping Dash close by would help her with gathering information. But he didnât have to know that just yet. Or ever if she was careful enough. âThat makes a lot of sense, after a while you know pretty much everyone. Especially if youâve never left.â It was a whole new experience for Sam, meeting people who had been born and raised on this island and had never gone anywhere else. Of course, with the island being closed for so long, one could only expect that but seeing it with her own eyes was different. âIs it terribly boring to say I came for the university? The biotech program here is renowned and I couldnât pass up on the opportunity.â Not a complete lie, Corona Universityâs program was spectacular. âWhen youâve been out in the world for as long as I have sometimes a nice break on an island is exactly what you need.â
Who would have guessed that at a party like that a new friendship would be forge, Dash raised an eyebrown as he leaned a little against the end of the table, careful not to touch anything served, reaching out to grab another appetizer that was not as strange as the previous selection. "Acurrated definition, not different from the truth. But don't worry! University is cool! Even if I'm not very attentive to what the biotech program implies, it sounds like a good reason to pack everything and moved." He replied with a smirk, eyes alternating between observing the woman to alternately return to look at the dishes on display. Better be honest. "Not sure if the rest of the world would be prepared for me." Or for those who had those special abilities. She had answered that sometimes a break was necessary, who knew what to expect outside the gates, creating a mixture of internal reactions in which the desire to explore as far as possible with the responsibility of keeping a low profile varied. Because, despite everything, Dash didn't seem capable of abandoning the Parrâs family. "Not sure if the word break must be used to relax, the island is not what it seems. But feel free to try." Was Sam aware of the fact that this place wasn't a common one? Rumors circulated incessantly, not so shocking enough to attract media attention, but for the inhabitants to be aware of what was partially happening, not knowing to a certain degree how those outside would react. With that, lips turned to show a friendly attitude but he didn't try to deny what had been said, grabbing something similar to a mini spaghetti and meatball appetizer to try, lifting it with care not to stain anything. "Welcome to Corona Island, where wonders and mysteries are more real that one can guess."

The whole month had been so strange, as if the succession of the days had been a succession of events that had not generated the usual joy that always floated on those dates. Because feeling having disappointed someone was not something common for Dash to know how to deal, rather feeling that invisible suffocation that did not cease to squeeze guilt. Much worse when that disappointed person was his own father whose gaze would not let him forget the matter, being unable to keep his gaze or engage in anything more than a small conversation, as if a sandpaper were irritating the throat, preferring to divert attention to the festive scene of the masquerade to remember that a new year would begin shortly. New chances and who knows which thing would bring this one. The eyes readjusted the mask, was it really that easy to just establish a conversation? "I din't expect you to come, don't be mad but this doesn't look it's your choice." Dash says, voice unable to hide some anxiety about sitting next to Bob since his mother had been the one who had insisted on putting them together. Not smiles or playful attitude as it used to be, lip closed in a fine line and fiddling with silverware. Was it immature not being able to apologize more to Bob, who had been his role model to some extent? "I mean, I never expected to see you in a suit and with a mask in a weird party like this. Don't know who had the idea for this but is not that bad, just a quirky concept." Dash grimaced at the last words, feeling like a nerd for using a word like that to express himself and regretting not having left with Vi when the occasion had presented itself. Uncomfortable silences were a weakness for him, feeling the itchy sensation to keep talking even if this was one-side conversation. "Do you think that we can be in peace? I know that I screwed everything but I'm willing to make amends. I don't want to start badly." @incredibleparrâ

lockbordesâ:
Lock slid his knee down against the back of Dashâs making sure it would hit the nerve to bend it, catching him by the arm. Standing him up straight with a big slap in the back, a bright smile on his face. The boy of the hour. The day. The month. The year. Finally they were at a spot where things would commence, but for now Lock was just opening the grounds for the real plot.Â
âDash, my friend. Please watch yourself. We wouldnât want you to get injured when you have an up and coming career in the world of racing,â Kindness and honesty inflicted in his words. âIâm sure your parents would be destroyed if anything were to happen to you.â @dashiel-dash-parrâ
The middle kid from the family just wanted some fresh air and then go back to enjoy the rest of the night, have a good time with friends and family, never expecting feeling to hit the back of the knee to force it to bend. Not being quick enough to react when one hand closed the grip against the arm to avoid falling, releasing a gasp of air as the slap hit the back hard, eyes squeezing into a grunt. Dash didn't know what to do, still freaking out about the whole situation. Although confusion gave way to rage as words started to make sense.
"Don't play with me dude, Not friend of mine would do this." Trying to jerk out of the grasp without no avail, like if those fingers didn't pretend to release their prey. And still, deciding not to use superspeed even if it could be the ace up his sleeve. Words sliced ââlike a cold knife against the back, not hard enough to poke blood out but enough to leave a cold chill before that not-so-hidden threat. This stranger planned to hurt him, the feeling making the stomach churn in disgust, making Dash even more alert. "Listen you creep, leave my parents out of this." Turning the head over his shoulder, eyes locked on that man's to show no fear. "Last chance, Get away from me or face whatever that will haunt you down." The soles of his feet pressed against the ground, pushing his entire body weight back for impact, no matter if it hurts, he won't fall without taking the other man with him.

It seemed like Sam had brought him deep out of whatever thought he was in, not knowing what to do other than smile warmly at him. Her eyes fell to the appetizer he held up, a clear bite taken out of it. âSausage and pineapple?â She repeated curiously, never seeing the combination before other than on top of the slice of pizza no one wanted to try. âIâm always down to try something newâŚas long as thereâs no mint involved.â Sam hated mint but it looked like most of the options were mint-free. Glancing down at the extended fist, she bumped her own against his and laughed softly. âHi Dash, Iâm Sam. Well, Samantha but everyone calls me Sam. Very astute of you, I just moved here not too long ago.â
Dash's curiosity was replaced by some understanding pride, curved lips indicating that emotion was well understood. Not for the mint part, mostly the estate that spoke of being down to try new things, perhaps a quality that was represented in all different ways to move forward. "Not mint involved, got it." He replied with a spark of seriousness, an unusual fact that was not generally witnessed and less at a party like that. Dash was trying to keep the conversation when she returned the fist bump, once again, was the feeling that they would get along. This woman, who could now be identified as Sam, was already the definition of cool. Would it be okay call her Sammy? Probably not, they just meet so it was better to ask her when the confidence was possible. Not everyone were fans of being called with a nickname, not even those who were a cute version of their own names. "Nice to meet you Sam. Pleasure to meet you? I think that is the common standard of one must say." Typical, but it was polite to say it. Pride was reflected in the man's eyes, as if illuminating two headlights full of energy. "Believe me, when you have been around so much time as I did, it's pretty easy to memorize the faces of the locals." Not a lie, not mentioning that it was really interesting how everything had turned up since the gates were open, exiling monotony and bringing with them unique individuals with intriguing stories from the outside world. "If you don't mind me asking you, what brings you here? I just can't lose the chance to hear how everything is out of here. Like, the island is big but the world is bigger and offers so many places to go... That must be amazing. "

penny had been on the fence about tonight. on one hand she was unable to stay away from a party, desire to be seen and keep good times flowing would get her to any gathering. on the other hand, she wasnât sure if this was necessarily the type of party she would want to be at. but the fact that itâs a party, in the loosest sense of the word, wins out in the end. with her mask in her hands â because she was way too cute to not be seen in all her glory â she approaches dash, bright smile on her face as she pulls him into a hug. âhappy early new year!â with the holidays coming and going sheâd hardly had time to see him, consumed with their families and festivities in the condensed time frame. âiâmâŚhonestly surprised you came to this thing.â a lavish masquerade ball seemed far less dashâs style, but it was only fitting that theyâd tolerate this together. @dashiel-dash-parr
No matter what, it was a heart belief that any kind of attention was a benefit. Even if not everybody seems to love that concept. Better be in people's memories, not caring if that was good or bad. Dash's eyes gleamed with excitement at Penny's presence, accepting the hug with emotion. With Christmas was so hard to keep in contact with his best friend, family meetings and Christmas shopping added to relieving the stress generated with final exams was never a good combination. God bless the existence of mobile phones. "Awww thank you Penny! Happy early new year to you too!" Letting out a laugh, his head only shook comically when he heard the doubts about that supposed oddity of being present at that type of party. C'mon, obviously this was not the athlete's style but many factors had influenced him to agree to attend the event. Winking mockingly. Was it really so weird? "Heh! I'm like a box full of surprises, neve know what can come out and make the day better." Just teasing and fun in the voice, Penny really knows too well to differentiate between lying and being sarcastic. "Besides, this is the closest that I can be to act as a super hero with a scret identity." Pointing the mask and suit with a move, like if that was a civil disguise like the ones that appears in movies. Attention was focused on the woman's clothing option, smiling and giving her thumbs up. "You also look good! Any proposals for this next year?" Leaning closer, a smirk was present like if that childish side refuse to grow up. "Or may I say, any activity which requires the collaboration of two partners in crime?"

Sam hadnât met too many people since coming to the island but it was easy to feel comfortable here. Whether sheâd spoken to them or not, most people had been pleasant enough ( sheâd been pretty lucky ). Walking through the crowd, she spotted Alex and Clover mingling and found herself next to one of the tables with appetizers. She gave them all a good look but couldnât decide. Glancing next to her, she saw someone there who seemed to be in a similar dilemma to herself. âI have no idea what to try, have you had anything yet?â  // @dashiel-dash-parrâ
So many choices and so little time to have the chance to try those delicious appetizers that seemed to be taken from a chefs program, feeling that common feeling of resignation of wanting but not being able. Or rather, he shouldn't use his super powers for something so trivial that it could get Dash in trouble. Not like he cares, but with so many people better to be extra careful for once. "Uh?" Returning to reality after hearing an unknown voice, the man blinked to focus all attention on that friendly-looking person, processing the question with a slight smile on his lips. "Hi there! Oh I just tried this one." A sausage and pineapple bite was twisted between his fingers, missing a chunk that proved he had been bitten. "Must admit that is kinda weird but bearable, I usually stick with the commons ones but a change isn't bad, everything is really appetizing." Talking to a stranger wasn't a problem for the individual carefree, extending his fist for a fist bump instead of offering the common gesture of greeting. "Name's Dash. You must be new around the island so welcome to our great paradise!"Â Possibilities for adding more people to the list of acquaintances was always a great hobby, winking lazily while the appetizer was finally devoured, making a small face of disgust. "Seriously, tastes better than what this looks.â.

send đ for my muse to give yours a handmade gift . (Tiana)
In a totally unexpected way, the expression on Dash's face was between surprise, curiosity, and astonishing fascination as Tiana took out a package wrapped with a small label on the side as it was placed in her hands. Confusion lingered for a few moments until she saw her name written on the tiny surface, almost feeling a huge surge of appreciation for her. With the habit of acting like an idiot when it came to doing some class project together in which it seemed that Tiana's temper would explode, the man still wondered why she was still agreeing to deal with the shenanigan that only brought headaches. "Is it a pen?" The guy shakes the wrapped box close to his ear, trying to guess the contents without tearing the wrapping paper or waiting for any kind of clue from Tiana - almost bouncing off the site due to the excitement of receiving a present before Christmas - but That didnât mean that the gesture was not appreciated. "It's really sweet that you went to the trouble of giving something to your project partner aka 'the guy who causes shenanigans when you don't keep an eye'. I loved it, I'll treasure it forever." He smiles with great joy. It's silly to say it was just a gift. Anyway, it was a gesture of friendship and no one can remove that truth from mind. "Before I open it, May I say that you're a wonderful person and that my life would be empty without you?" He grins like a child, not hesitating to open his arms to wrap her in a sweet hug. The middle kid of the Parrâs family doesn't have the habbit of being so 'touchy' with others, preferring fist bumps or high fives over something more durable, and while it's something that needs to be changed, Dash could only be proud to have one person who put up with a free soul that just wanted to have fun. "I'll get you the best gift that you can ever think! The best for my buddy project!" Even though Christmas Eve and Christmasâs morning are so close, that didnât prevent time from being able to 'stretch out for him'. "You'll see! A Parr keeps his promises ninety percent, we leave ten percent out in case something happens to prevent it." The man stepped back to make room, studying every idea that might fit as a gift for Tiana without her knowing. "Santa Claus is coming to the town, and might bring an awesome gift for someone so special and kind." @tiasbeignets

âIs my outfit too festive?â (Chip)
Dash shook his head in denial as the singer continued with the phrase, giving thumbs up to indicate that there was nothing to worry about. It could not be denied that that sweater that lit up imitating the Christmas colored lights was something bizarre, that the bells on the slippers were perhaps too much and that the melody of a Christmas carol that resonated when the pressed the hanging ponpon of Santa's hat perhaps was too excessive. But even with that, the athlete was also wearing an ugly winter season sweater that hardly matched the rest of the clothes so there was no reason to think about it. "Are. You. Kidding ?! Is perfect! Christmas is supposed to be glamorous and dazzling. Now you're pretty much synonymous with everything this means." The man waved his arms energetically as if that provided more reason, partially because he wanted his friend not to think for some moment that being excessively dressed was a bad thing. That is to say. Who defined how you had to be dressed? You had to enjoy how everyone wanted! "C'mon man! People is only jealous! You could even replace Santa Claus and become Santa Chip Skylark! Doesn't that sounds good?" @chippyskylark

send âď¸ for our muses to have a snowball fight . (Penny)
If it weren't for the risk of having too many witnesses in the battle zone, Dash wouldn't have hesitated to use the super speed against Penny. Instead, he had to concentrate twice on not losing sight of her at any moment and also control that the movements werenât too fast to attract attention for the unwanted time, trying to avoid those frozen projectiles that for some reason always went to the face as he simultaneously tried to duck down to create his own snowball weaponry and internally wonder how the hell Penny could be so fast. It was becoming more and more doubtful if that woman had powers or not! "Well, look at that! You almost hit me!" The athlete admitted, narrowly dodging another projectile of snow before losing his balance and landing backwards against the frozen ground. Leaning on his elbows, before he could get up to continue that game of cat and mouse when a ball hit the right side of his head, causing a daze. However, the mind raced again to see her standing there just a few feet away with another snowball in her hand and a cheeky smile that didn't promise anything good, as if it had all been a very well-crafted trap. Had she planned a good strategy to emerge victorious from that situation? He didnât know whether to feel admiration or fear at that show of cunning. To tell the truth, in the jokes she was the brain of the operation and Dash was the one who started everything. A really smart move assumed. "Don't you even dare to hit me with that. I swear that if you ..." A threat that could not be ended or dodged since a fraction of a second the impact forced the eyes to close, feeling the icy brush of drops spreading across the face to slap away, defiant gleam in the eyes and crooked mouth. "Oh Miss Proud, you really have a death wish." He says with a false malicious tone, betrayed by that probelmatic smile. "You just won a battle, but war's victory is mine." @mizzprouds

đŞ for our muses to bake cookies (violet)
Being slowly was not exactly how one should refer to Dash's personality, correctly referring to more as a man who could barely stand still. Enjoying often not having to be tied to the slowness of having to perform activities like others, in most cases, in which he ended up abusing that magic that was used more as a toy to avoid boredom than in yes to adhere to a responsibility. But then, what could be done when even this was not an option? "It's gonna take forever! Why can't the cookies be made more fast ?!" Dash almost screamed in frustration, fingers flailing nervously as he helped prepare a new tray of Christmas-themed cookies, watching Violet confidently do the same without showing any signs of exhaustion. He found himself a bit jealous for lacking the ability to take simple things easy, although that was a thought that would never be said out loud. Apparently Vi could excel in other fields, and yet that was cause for pride in her because his sister was always trying to adapt to the fast pace and for once the tables had been turned. "You're so calm about this as if it was the easiest thing in the world, although we have the advantage that Jack Jack is not around, it is the only way to ensure that the cookies arrive for Santa without a mutant boy eating them even raw ... Does he still believe in Santa? " Dash whispered the last in a low voice, in case the younger kid was around to hear something. He shook his head with a sigh, no matter what, he wasn't going to be the jerk that could crash his little brother's vision of the world. It was hard enough growing up, wondering if it was better to tell Vi about the last 'conversation' in which Bob had gotten so angry with him or better to leave that subject under the rug. It was weird yet natural following the same customs as when they were kids, both siblings in Christmas aprons and chef's hats trying to keep the cookies from being burned, even if they had already grown out of them. He was about to protest again when his mouth fell into a fine, surprised grin, his gaze softening a bit and momentarily forgetting about the tray, cheeks flushing slightly while trying to maintain a cheeky face. "Awww did you make cookie versions of all of us? The whole Parr's family in cookie style? Okay, I admit that's cool. You're a pro with this stuff, sis." @invisoviolet

@hamadauntâ
Superpowers shouldâve been scarier. Islanders developing inhuman abilities wasnât exactly an everyday occurrence, and sheâd been tipped off by a few friends to keep an eye on Hiro. But, she had thought heâd had superpowers plenty of times in the past; the kid was a genius, and his inventions often left her confused and dealing with some kind of repercussion. The news that he could develop some further ability, some additional intelligence that no one else had? She knew Hiro well enough to know that, if it could happen, it would. Thus, this boy confessing super speed didnât stagger her. The duo stewed in mutual anticipation, excitement stirring as they realized they had a good setup. âWe shouldnât get our hopes up, but I think weâve got a shot.â Ever the guardian, she was quick to make a comment validating loss, but even she couldnât hide the grin that tormented her face. Theyâd certainly have fun, at least. While Dash set to work on decorations, Cass took on building the structure, carving the gingerbread slats into sides for the sleigh. It wasnât ideal, shaping the materials after they were baked, but it was a mutual disadvantage.
She was just finishing the second piece when her attention was caught. âHm?â She asked, pulled out of the happy place she mentally travelled to when baking, and a moment later the question clicked. âLet me see!â She happily wiped the crumbs from her hands with a towel before leaning towards his half of the table. Knowing he was fast didnât eliminate her shock now at his quick process, but she collected herself quickly as she looked them over. âOhh, I love themâŚâ She trailed off quietly, picking up the last one. âFor the bow?â She asked after a moment, placing it back down before collecting a small piece of fondant. After a friendly smile at him, to show she was only trying to help, she formed a new bow with a simple motion that looked neater than before. âYeah?â She asked, allowing him time to question anything. It was a small tweak, but she knew it would make a world of difference for the rest of the presents. âAfter that, I could use you cutting out some reindeer!â She suggested, happy to have such a ready partner. Cass got back to her own work, moving at a much slower pace, and smiled as she did so. âSan Fransokyo! Do you end up there much?â
When the truth came out there was always that feeling that somehow one had to feel guilty for simply even being sincere, as if any kind of credibility gained over the years was flying out of the window just because you had powers. Being honest not only put oneself in danger, but also family and friends who were behind because sometimes people did not take it the right way or accept the news as a simple fact. Or at least that was the theory that Bob and Helen had tried to instill, he had already told different people about it and none of them had ever tried to play the blackmail card or use excessive aggressiveness towards his person. Well, he Vidia if he was openly hostile but it was something he could deal with. It was still amazing that other people had developed powers out of thin air instead of being born with them, but it's not like Dash could have a say on it. And yet it was incredible that this woman seemed so calm with knowing such a factor. Hearing the possible words that maybe they had a good chance to win caused a not humble smile to appear on his lips. Losing was not an option that would just count as a possibility, but a single nod signaled the inner opinion as the work was still in progress, fingers moving as if they were only focused on the activity. The activity was temporarily halted when Cass complimented the result of the little gifts, feeling a small thrill of pride that was fused when she mentioned the bow. Raising an eyebrow, it was understandable that this woman knew how a simple detail could make a difference so the negative feeling was brushed aside. Why would she get mad at someone who just wanted to help? Ironic, because it was somewhat hypocritical given the constant arguments with the parents. "Actually, it looks cooler now." Trying to copy that gesture would not make the result look as good as that. But it was worth a try! This time more slowly, the movements were divided between making more mini sacks and at the same time not forgetting to add a small bow. Oh! And the deer! Dash was not an expert in animals but at least those figures of marzipan, biscuit or whatever fell in the hands were similar enough to be modified and pass as that horned mammal. San fransokyo? "Kinda familiar, you could say that in the blink of an eye I can be everywhere." Realizing that this one might sound too presumptuous, her head was thrown back energetically to giggle even if it gave her the illusion of being dramatic. "Nah, I was kidding, I don't really wander too far from the university area but I'll make sure to stop by every now and then." That was an easy promise to keep, even if it meant making the rules of not using powers for displacement even more flexible. An idea came to the mind of the athlete. "Hey! I know it's very impetuous to ask something like that when Christmas is so close, but do you have any chocolate specialty or something that is sold? My little brother would adore that for Christmas and I would gladly pay you for it. He is like a mini cookie monster. "
Cass was... Well, Cass was excited, to say the least. The island always came up with exciting holiday events, but a gingerbread house making competition? It was like they were trying to cater to her specific interests, now. She was practically bouncing with excitement as she neared her number station, finding a younger guy already waiting. âDash?â She asked with a wide smile, in no way disappointed to discover her partner. He looked to be near Hiroâs age, a fact that immediately filled her with some familiarity, and she wasted no time in dropping her purse on the floor beside the table. âNo pressure, but Iâve been looking forward to this for weeks.â She said the words with a lilted smile and teasing tone, as if letting him on some big secret. But, it wasnât until after that she realized her words could be misconstrued as competitive, a fact she was quick to dismiss. âBut really, no pressure, though! We just donât get to decorate gingerbread houses at the bakery too often.â It was a downright shame too, in her book, but they werenât exactly conducive for sales. @dashiel-dash-parrâ
