So I think the best strat here is for the users who did get the new layout to just stop using the desktop version of the site for a while, like a week or a month or however long their 'experiment' is supposed to last, while the users who didn't get the new layout should keep using the desktop version like normal or, perhaps, use it even more than usual.
My guess is that they're doing basic A/B testing on the new layout to see if it would boost engagement: the userbase is split roughly 50/50 between the 2 versions and they are going to be comparing the engagement data between the 2 groups of users to see if it's worth it switching everyone to the new layout or not.
Basically, if you got the new layout and don't like it - don't use it. If engagement metrics of group B (new layout) are lower than those of group A (no change), the experiment will be considered a failure and they will have to reverse the change.
If your tumblr suddenly looks like twitter - it's a sign to log off and go touch some grass! (or just use the mobile app since that engagement data isn't relevant to this particular experiment)

Total Cookie Protection works by creating a separate “cookie jar” for each website you visit. Instead of allowing trackers to link up your behavior on multiple sites, they just get to see behavior on individual sites. Any time a website, or third-party content embedded in a website, deposits a cookie in your browser, that cookie is confined to the cookie jar assigned to only that website. No other websites can reach into the cookie jars that don’t belong to them and find out what the other websites’ cookies know about you — giving you freedom from invasive ads and reducing the amount of information companies gather about you.
This approach strikes the balance between eliminating the worst privacy properties of third-party cookies – in particular the ability to track you – and allowing those cookies to fulfill their less invasive use cases (e.g. to provide accurate analytics). With Total Cookie Protection in Firefox, people can enjoy better privacy and have the great browsing experience they’ve come to expect.
anyway switch to Firefox

you know what would’ve been a fun plot for this season? actually as i start to type the post i’m realizing it’s essentially the same premise as rivervale/the jughead paradox BUT i don’t care it would’ve been fun if there was a serial killer mystery where the people getting killed off were the ones who were already dead when the citizens of riverdale were sent back in time. like bc if tabitha just Sent Everybody Back then why is midge around? why is evelyn evernever alive and a real teenager? even hal! idk i would’ve liked to see them use that inconsistency in a fun way

riverdale was sooo bad tonight so i’m clinging to the mystery elements. i feel like they were alluding a lot to the stuff in the real timeline with alice’s teen pregnancy and charles and stuff but i also feel like if they resolved that it would’ve been in this episode. but who knows. but bc of that i did have a moment where i was like “am i supposed to think ethel is alice’s kid?” bc whatever the connection is to hal and alice (and i HOPE it’s that he’s serial killing again) i do think it’s more likely to be something along those lines.
