What if I like…started a new term??

CD - Companionship Deprived. Those who have little to no friends because of the way society is structured to isolate those who don’t fit into the norm, mainly a term for those who struggle because they’re severely mentally ill or have communication difficulties.

Since CD (Companionship Deprived) sounds like CD (Compact Disc), maybe we could use 💿?? That’d be cute…and silly…maybe…

Wouldn’t count as hikikomori since that’s for those who are affected to the point they don’t go outside or talk to people at all. CDs may do those things, just greatly struggle with doing them and not get much benefit!! It depends on the person. Some hikikomori may also be CDs, but not all CDs are hikikomori.
