Travel Vietnam in Low Season
From May – September, Vietnam is considered to be the low season for international tourists. It is said that the weather is one of the main reasons because it is summer’s time, very hot, humid, wet, rainy and stormy. However, the weather is changing every year and unpredictable. Again, the weather and climate are not the same in each part of the country which make your Vietnam holiday possible in every time of the year.
Travel Vietnam from May – September, why not?
In fact, the best time to visit Sapa is from May – September when it is sunny, warm with blue sky and the rice terraces are most wonderful. In Halong Bay, longer afternoon is great for you to explore the bay by kayaking to explore some hidden caves, fishing villages or enjoy climbing the Titop island, swimming, sunbathing, watching sunset… In Hoi An and Hue, it can be quite warm, sometimes with downpour, but it does not last long and you can still do your Vietnam tour as schedule. Further down in Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta, Phu Quoc island, Mui Ne beach, it can be a bit warmer but just perfect if you spend some last days at beach to get brow.
Another thing is if you travel to Vietnam during May – September, you will get really good price because all Vietnam hotels and resorts, cruises, trains, airlines… will offer you much better price and offer free upgrade.
Indochinavalue is specialists in Vietnam private and personalized tour packages, we have experience in organzingVietnam tour in low season. We guarantee to apply low season rates and happy to offer, give discount if you plan your Vietnam holiday with us.
Any question, please feel free to contact us at [email protected] for more information.

Some notes for a family holiday to Vietnam
After the holiday in Vietnam with us, a family from UK wrote us that “Vietnam is a beautiful country, and when traveling in Vietnam from north to south, we think that we are having all three different holidays because of the diverse culture, history, landscape, lifestyles, climate and weather…and our children learn a lot and we have a great time”
Despite the good things, in this writing Indochinavalue would like to let you know some Vietnam travel guides for family who travel with children or kids. This definitely not to intend to put you off, but to give you the information you need to make an informed decision for a family tour to Vietnam.
1) Never choose a pre-designed Vietnam tour package which is not flexible or comfortable when traveling. We advise you to contact www.Indochinavalue.com to request a “tailor made Vietnam tour package” then you are the one who decide where to go, what to do…and of course, we will help you design the best Vietnam tour that meets your family’s wishes and travel budget. 2) Traveling with children/kids is not an easy experience, but if you can let us know your family’s travel styles, interested activities, personal requirements…, Indochinavalue will make your dream Vietnam holiday an memorable time together.
3) Culture Shock, this is definitely the most important thing that you need to know when traveling in Vietnam. Many things mean “opposite”, or different from your culture. For example, how to say hello, how to show respect, how to eat, how to take care of someone…
4) Vietnam is a developing country and standard of hygiene can be much lower than your country especially, when you travel to remote areas. Children can be more prone to sickness than adult and standards of medical care can be very variable. Similar standards of transportations and accommodation may be lower than you are used to. Even when we mention that is three, four or five stars hotels but can be different from western standards.
