i'm ngl i enjoy dk but i also enjoy other ships and like seeing more than just dk when i open the hs tag lmfao that's the reason i lurk here

im not in the homestuck fandom anymore, since 5 months i believe, maybe less, yet i still despise dave-shit-kat, less than before for the simple fact that i dont follow the HS tag anymore, so i see it way, way less. still, even with the tag and every variation of it blocked, some people just dont-give-a-fuck and keep non tagging properly. ive encountered non properly tagged dvkt posts at least 20-30 times (not exaggerating), despite not searching it, blocking the people who dont properly tag, etc, so it means that at least 20-30 people, dk shippers, dont know how to fucking tag their shit. its a lot, its a problem.

ANYWAYS, yeah, youre absolutely right. im so tired of seeing always the same ships too. even if hs is famous for having a fuck ton of ships and possible ships too, people reduce them to the same 4 or so: dave-shit-kat, rose-mary, pepsi-cola, eri-sol (i hope thats enough for censoring). when i meet any other ship, im always surprised; like, lately ive been seeing a bit of nep-sol, jade-rose, and its pleasant to see, sure, but there are also other ships that im surprised to see from time to time and shouldnt be rare at all. spider-breath, grim-dorks, kar-ezi, gam-kar, etc. i dont particularly like these ships, but i can distinguish when something is not my personal liking to when it makes sense. i dont like kar-ezi, but i thought it was going to be canon till the very end. i dont like gam-kar at all, but it was canon! its not fair that people dont care about these, sometimes people are unpleasantly surprised to see these ships in their dashboards, and i fear its because these fans havent read the og comic at all and dont understand why someone would ship characters that (i imagine) in hs^2 dont interact nor seem compatible.

basically: follow every tag of ships you like; theres not going to be much content for them most likely.

Reminder that even Encyclopedia Dramatica, a website most infamous for its 4chan-like humor thinks Davekat is a flawed and forced pairing. Something about the way they put "canonizing" in quotation really makes me feel off and that they share the same view and opinion on Davekat as we do. Also they listed that this was under Dirk's influence for the two to kiss. While I do not recommend it you can go to ED and see for yourself if you'd like.
