Dear Mags Visaggio
Whatever the faults Peter David had in life they catagorcially were fewer than your own.
How do I know this? Because it says volumes about a person's fundamental character for them to badmouth someone mere days after they have died. You are cut from the same wretched cloth (or should I say, the same tattered filth laden rag) as those subhuman creatures who slandered Stan lee mere hours after his own passage in 2018.
I would bet very good money that PAD's 'cartoonishly venomous and mocking reply' to your work was very well deserved. This is because
a) When you were in college, DC, Marvel and the publishing industry in general undeniably had more standards than they had at the time you weaseled your way into it, let alone now.
b) You yourself and people cut from your dirt infested rag have routinely and derangedly LIED. It is a core component of your personality traits. So, in principle, I will NEVER believe you on your word because your word isn't worth anything.
c) Creatures from your cloth systemically not only lie but exaggerate and take offence to things which are imperically NOT offensive nor intended to be. But the intention is irelevent in your eyes of course.
d) Given that the lack of quality work in your career can be described best as 'sinking to below even subterreanean depths' if Peter David said those things to you it was well deserved. If he was gatekeeping you frankly he should have tried harder. You summarily never deserved to be in the industry because you are not even 1/8th as talented as Peter David was on his worst days.
Your vibes mean nothing. Your work and actions do. By both of those you have proven yourself not just unworthy of the industry you weaseled your way into but also someone who makes the world an undeniably worse place for your presence in it. You could change this. You could apologise and be a better person. But like so many people from your ideological outlook *scowls at Kate Lethe* you never will.
You have the audiacity to talk about Peter David's lack of kindness when the act of doing so at this point in time is demonstrable of your own lack of kindness to his fans, his colleagues, his friends and above all his family who are mourning him right now.
It would be supreme cosmic justice if, on the day you die, those who ever despised you (who would doubtless number higher than those who ever even mildly disliked PAD, indeed that is likely the case as I type this) slandered you for your moral failings.
But don't worry, I doubt that will happen. Because when you pass away, outside of your immediate social circle, precious few will know or remember who you were. if you are extremely lucky, you will be remembered as a pesonification of the type of 'creator' typical of this era of comic books, an exemplary of how and why the old institutions crumbled into irrelevancy. But much more likely, no one will even bother saying anything nice or nasty about you.
Amongst the library of Peter David's great works I think this scene from 'Spider-Man meets Spider-man 2099' is an apt metaphor for the point I'm trying to make:
tl:dr:
Go FUCK yourself Mags!
