once you realize that the political ad cliche of "[opposing candidate] has never run a business... and yet they want to run a whole city???" is code for "people who aren't part of the bourgeoisie shouldn't be permitted to hold office" you never stop seeing it.

#ok but also #running a business is not quite being bourgeois because there has to exist a managerial class #which usually is part of the working class (or at least the highest casts of the working class)#sometimes you see them called “professional managerial class” or “labour aristocracy” if you're spicy but there is more nuance to it #OP is not wrong because political marketing relies on people creating this connection between “bourgeoise” and “successful businessman”#its all a part of the illusory role of the petty bourgeoise and shit like that but thats too preciousistic separation
