Matthew Simmonds
Copenhagen-based artist Matthew Simmonds carves miniature architectural interiors, angular shapes, and tiny windows filled with symbolic objects, trinkets, and animals. His ghostly white sculptural forms are cut from and presented within raw stone, which allows for a striking contrast between his designs and the medium’s natural surface.

The Paper Time Machine
The Paper Time Machine is a book that will change the way you think about the past. The book will contain 130 historical photographs arranged chronologically, chosen and introduced by Wolfgang Wild, the creator and curator of the remarkable website. Each time-bending image chosen by Wolfgang have in turn been painstakingly restored and rendered in colour by Jordan Lloyd of Dynamichrome, a company that has taken the craft of colour reconstruction to a new level.
Each element in the monochrome images has been researched and colour checked for historical authenticity. As the layers of colour build up, the effect is disorientatingly real and the decades and centuries just fall away. It is as though we are standing at the original photographer’s elbow.

Earlier today, Parker Solar Probe broke the all-time record for closest spacecraft to the sun, and about half an hour ago broke another record for fastest-ever spacecraft relative to the sun. NASA didn’t release any new photos to share along with the news, so instead here’s a vintage 70’s NASA film about the previous record holder, the twin Helios probes, which were a joint US & West Germany project.
