This April marks 16 years since I opened my Hampshire workshop! These photos are all from 2009, while the outside of the workshop hasn’t really changed, inside is a completely different story (plus iPhone cameras have improved 🤣).

A commission from last year, dovetailed French oak with Ukrainian oak lid and base panels. Finished with Osmo hardwax oil & lemon oil inside. Made as a keepsake box for the client’s granddaughter 😊

Monty and I were joined by Tim & Phil from Emmaus Hampshire for another of their special workshop skills two-day courses, designed to up-skill the companions before they are fully let loose in Emmaus’ workshop in Winchester. Here they are with their completed ash cutlers stools!

This one is 150cm long, 60cm across and 86cm tall, made from the usual combination of southern yellow pine and European beech.

After being checked over by the shelf inspector Monty, Dave and his new workbench headed back home to Gloucestershire 😃
