Se esse comentário saiu da minha boca durante a época que estávamos em Hogwarts, provavelmente era só desdém mesmo. A curiosidade veio só anos depois.

Exactly. For Declan to disapprove so strongly of someone, there must be something seriously wrong with him. To be honest, I think that the lad is married. It explains why Summer has always been so secretive and why Declan doesn’t like it, as he rather values loyalty and cheating is clearly out of question for someone like him.

Or even worse... you know, Declan is very flirty... even with people in a relationship. Not sure if he does this intentionally but I don't see him that monogamous.

Yes, she refuses to talk to him. I am trying to support her, because, you know, according to her he was very sexist. But, I do believe it's just a matter of time for the two of them to get back together.

You have a similar reputation. But I do not think this a good reputation. I mean, many of them kiss you or Mad thinking they might become the oficial. Not sure it's healthy. Actually, I am sure this is not.

Geez... that is exactly what I need. But people will gossip about us and my parents will kill me. So, I am afraid I cannot.

But if we can get Maddox into the plans, the gossip might just be a bunch of young people doing bullshit. And my parents are used to being more condescending when people don't insinuate that I disappeared from an event with a good-looking guy.

So you are saying that you have always entirely upfront about all of your intentions in this relationship? I mean, I’ve got you admit you are one of the most straightforward people I’ve got to meet in my life, and you often joked about getting together with me, which in the end happened to be a very true desire, but we always expect and intend something when interactig with others, and we don’t always say it. 

It doesn’t need to be ill-intentioned. But people sometimes want friends so they’re not lonely, or so they feel appreciated and liked, and they often don’t state that, do they? I’m just saying we all want something out of our relationships, and sometimes that’s well-meaning, and sometimes it’s not. I’m afraid I’m not much of a romantic when it comes to that.

Joke? I was not joking at all. Thought you knew that. Whatever, Rookwood. Maybe we are just different. We deal with relationship in different ways. This is not the first time I’ve had a different way of dealing with a friendship than the other.

But just out of curiosity, what hidden interest would I have with you? Because, I do not want to brag upon myself, but finding someone to sleep with me is not a very difficult job. And what’s your hidden interest in me? Having someone always available? Or is there something else that you prefer to keep hidden?

Well, we could argue that hidden interests are a part of all relationships, and the difference lies on what those interests are about. I’m afraid it is quite rare to find people who are entirely upfront about all their desires and intentions, at least.

Did you hear the sound of something being destroyed? Oh, it was probably my expectation of  our friendship being pure and without any hidden interest.

Didn’t know you are so practical in your relationships. Poor Savage, who clearly likes you without expecting anything in exchange. Poor me too, I am afraid.

Interesting, I didn’t realize that the portkey division was so involved on the rest of the Ministry’s activities. That’s likely why Lestrange seems to think he’s better than everyone else, huh. I wouldn’t say I’m eager to interact with him, though he’s an old family friend, not unlike others that were born in families like ours. It’s one of those relationships one ought to keep well oiled, as we never know when we might need to resource to politics around here.

Maybe he’s... Rodolphus isn’t the kind of person who misses a trick. I mean, he and his family are infamous as hell, but no one has any evidence against them. He may be innocent, or he keeps low-key friendships... Anyway, you’re right. But sometimes, hidden interests come from relationships you don’t expect.

Rodolphus... Don’t you? Thought everyone used to deal with him. He always gets involved in every department... or is forcedly involved. No caso de Law Enforcement. A benefit of working at Mysteries I guess. Unlike most everyone in this Ministry, you only deal with him when you want.

I work very hard, and I’m here on business. I needed some documents, I can’t really tell you which, because, you know, it’s a mystery.

Bribery and corrupt law enforcement members... hm... you’re not looking for a juicy gossip, but a scandal, huh? But I am sure I would know if something was going on.

Well, Augustus Rookwood has more mysteries than his professional life, huh?... isn’t Lestrange’s office on this floor, by the way?

Nada muito edificante. Some secret affairs, married people cheating on their partners. Trivial stuff, but good entertainment. You would not appreciate them. 

And I am sure Savage already fills you in on all the gossip. Anyway, what about you? Why you’re not locked in the walls of the Mysteries Department? É por isso que as más línguas dizem que não se faz nada no seu departamento... hehe.
