Worse as in… him being completely depraved? Or someone that has wronged Declan in the past…? A criminal, maybe?
I couldn’t do that to him.
Maybe a completely depraved criminal who has wronged Declan in the past.

rookwood-a:
What exactly are you implying, Davina Travers? That Declan wanted to be a… throuple with Summer and whoever is her mysterious paramour? And that he is mad he was shut out?
Você está tentando me passar alguma mensagem, Dav?
Oh, no, no. I think Summer's boyfriend has a worse secret than being married. I do not see Declan that angry just because Summer is going out with a married lad.

rookwood-a:
Exactly. For Declan to disapprove so strongly of someone, there must be something seriously wrong with him. To be honest, I think that the lad is married. It explains why Summer has always been so secretive and why Declan doesn’t like it, as he rather values loyalty and cheating is clearly out of question for someone like him.
Come on.
Or even worse... you know, Declan is very flirty... even with people in a relationship. Not sure if he does this intentionally but I don't see him that monogamous.

Almost the first, right.
I also think they’ll make up soon, but I confess it’s been longer than I thought it’d be. This thing really shook their relationship. I wonder who might this guy be to have made such good friends to fallout like that.
Hm... yes. She did not tell me who is this person. But you do have a point. I mean, Savage must hate him.. and I didn't even know he was capable of hating anyone. I mean, he always looks to the bright side of everyone.
Quer dizer, ele continua amigo do Maddox até hoje. Até eu desisti dessa amizade.

Well, I’d say it was about time I fancied myself as a boyfriend, huh? ‘Cause, let’s be honest, you’ve always been girlfriend material, but me… I had to grow into it. I’m glad you could bring it out, though.
Ahn, good to hear you’re not receiving any threats? Although I guess I still make pretty good competition to whoever is the new hottest bachelor around.
Anyways, my day was fine, same old thing. Oh, by the way, is Summer still not talking to Declan? He hasn’t mentioned her much and I belive it’s a bit of a sensitive topic for him…
Sure. Of course you do. You're probably the second... you, see? Almost the first.
Yes, she refuses to talk to him. I am trying to support her, because, you know, according to her he was very sexist. But, I do believe it's just a matter of time for the two of them to get back together.

What a nice surprise, miss Travers.
Anyways, thanks for coming, dear. How was your day?
Always a pleasure, dear...
Oh, geez. Now I am the one who's surprised.
The same as always. I woke up, went to Wizengamot, worked, had lunch with Summer, worked more, Savage asked me to be here and then I just found out I am Augustus Rookwood's girlfriend... I am glad you're not the hottest guy in the ministry anymore, by the way. Otherwise, I would receive threatening letters from your secret (or even not so secret) admirers... but how was your day?

'ello, Rookwood.

I knew he had a reputation, but seems like it’s a good one, then. I’m curious, though… What do girls say about me, Dav?
In this case, maybe we are the unlucky ones, not Fawley. Anyways, we have a deal, Miss Travers. And I appreciate your preparedness. See you in a bit.
You have a similar reputation. But I do not think this a good reputation. I mean, many of them kiss you or Mad thinking they might become the oficial. Not sure it's healthy. Actually, I am sure this is not.
Unlucky? Would you like to be kissing Maddox? Really? Argh... have you ever imagine how many mouths Mads' mouth has already touched? Anyway, see you soon.

No, they don’t. And, well, a boy and a girl our age… No one needs to be very creative to have ideas about it.
Merlin, Mads can’t keep it in his pants, can he? Huh. Aren’t you friends with anyone else around here? Or maybe we can devise a plan to discreetly sneak out, each at a time, maybe with different people?
Girls like gossiping and I was told he is a good kisser. So, maybe that is it. Girls are curious to be make sure this not a fake news.
I could talk to Fawley, but I am afraid she is the Mads' random girl of the day... Geez. This family does have a bad luck, huh?... but, yeah... we can just be low profile. See you in five minutes in front of the fountain? I have already an Ogden in my purse, by the way.

I see. Well, you’re probably right. We’re inside the snakes’ nest, and they’re usually pretty thirsty for gossip.
I’m sure we can convide Maddox to hop along. Maybe we can get others on board, too. Although my intentions were far from being ill, I think more people will certainly look less… suspicious to your honor.
I know you always have the best intentions... unfortunately. But people around do not know you as well as I do.
Sure Maddox will join us, expect if he have already disappeared with a random girl. And I am afraid he have already done it.

Geez... that is exactly what I need. But people will gossip about us and my parents will kill me. So, I am afraid I cannot.
But if we can get Maddox into the plans, the gossip might just be a bunch of young people doing bullshit. And my parents are used to being more condescending when people don't insinuate that I disappeared from an event with a good-looking guy.
@davinatravers
What do you say we sneak out this dinner party and take Ogden’s here with us? I suspect I might fall asleep if someone else decides to give a speech again.

rookwood-a:
So you are saying that you have always entirely upfront about all of your intentions in this relationship? I mean, I’ve got you admit you are one of the most straightforward people I’ve got to meet in my life, and you often joked about getting together with me, which in the end happened to be a very true desire, but we always expect and intend something when interactig with others, and we don’t always say it.
It doesn’t need to be ill-intentioned. But people sometimes want friends so they’re not lonely, or so they feel appreciated and liked, and they often don’t state that, do they? I’m just saying we all want something out of our relationships, and sometimes that’s well-meaning, and sometimes it’s not. I’m afraid I’m not much of a romantic when it comes to that.
Joke? I was not joking at all. Thought you knew that. Whatever, Rookwood. Maybe we are just different. We deal with relationship in different ways. This is not the first time I’ve had a different way of dealing with a friendship than the other.
But just out of curiosity, what hidden interest would I have with you? Because, I do not want to brag upon myself, but finding someone to sleep with me is not a very difficult job. And what’s your hidden interest in me? Having someone always available? Or is there something else that you prefer to keep hidden?

One can only wonder about these things, if there’s no evidence. But the Lestranges do have friends in all the right places.
Well, we could argue that hidden interests are a part of all relationships, and the difference lies on what those interests are about. I’m afraid it is quite rare to find people who are entirely upfront about all their desires and intentions, at least.
Did you hear the sound of something being destroyed? Oh, it was probably my expectation of our friendship being pure and without any hidden interest.
Didn’t know you are so practical in your relationships. Poor Savage, who clearly likes you without expecting anything in exchange. Poor me too, I am afraid.

I don’t know. Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn’t. Like you said: a little mystery makes things exciting.
Interesting, I didn’t realize that the portkey division was so involved on the rest of the Ministry’s activities. That’s likely why Lestrange seems to think he’s better than everyone else, huh. I wouldn’t say I’m eager to interact with him, though he’s an old family friend, not unlike others that were born in families like ours. It’s one of those relationships one ought to keep well oiled, as we never know when we might need to resource to politics around here.
Exactly...
Maybe he’s... Rodolphus isn’t the kind of person who misses a trick. I mean, he and his family are infamous as hell, but no one has any evidence against them. He may be innocent, or he keeps low-key friendships... Anyway, you’re right. But sometimes, hidden interests come from relationships you don’t expect.

You call it a scandal, I call it a Thursday. It doesn’t need to be so outrageous to the point of a scandal, though. Just enough for some personel change, perhaps. Oh, you’d know, then? And would you tell me if you knew?
Is it? I’m not quite sure, I don’t usually deal with either portkeys or international affairs, whichever Lestrange you’re talking about.
No, I wouldn’t. A little mystery makes things exciting. But you know more about mystery than I do. And what about you? Would you tell me if you knew?
Rodolphus... Don’t you? Thought everyone used to deal with him. He always gets involved in every department... or is forcedly involved. No caso de Law Enforcement. A benefit of working at Mysteries I guess. Unlike most everyone in this Ministry, you only deal with him when you want.

Just the usual who-is-sleeping-with-who, then. That’s a bit juicy, although trivial. I thought you could’ve heard of more interesting things, like bribery and corrupt law enforcement members. That’s the good stuff.
Declan has a newsletter and everything. He is so commited to the gossip business it’d put Witch Weekly to shame… Kidding. Well, sort of. Hey, that was uncalled for! I work very hard, and I’m here on business. I needed some documents, I can’t really tell you which, because, you know, it’s a mystery.
Bribery and corrupt law enforcement members... hm... you’re not looking for a juicy gossip, but a scandal, huh? But I am sure I would know if something was going on.
Well, Augustus Rookwood has more mysteries than his professional life, huh?... isn’t Lestrange’s office on this floor, by the way?

The Department of Mysteries is quite the detour from the auror office, but alright, I’ll bite.
What’s the tea, then?
Nada muito edificante. Some secret affairs, married people cheating on their partners. Trivial stuff, but good entertainment. You would not appreciate them.
And I am sure Savage already fills you in on all the gossip. Anyway, what about you? Why you’re not locked in the walls of the Mysteries Department?
