No Art or Posts This Week
I'm currently hard at work on several final assignments (i.e. projects, exams, etc.), so I don't have any time to post anything until then.
Also, this might continue into next week, since most of those assignments are due next week.

Bowery Ballroom Setlist #2
(to reiterate, this isn’t real, just pretend that it is)
Time for another recap.
Due to my voice issues, the setlist had more Flansburgh songs for Footi to sing.
Before we get to the setlist, here is a sort of key to explain certain things in the text below…
This means that Footi sang a song and no one else.
This means that I sang a song and no one else.
This means that Footi sang a song, with me on backing vocals.
This means that Footi sang a song, with Chao on backing vocals.
This means that I sang a song, with Footi on backing vocals.
This means that Footi sang a song, with Chao and I on backing vocals.
This means that Chao sang a song, with Footi and I on backing vocals.
This means that I sang a song, with Footi and Chao on backing vocals.
When “->” is shown right before a song’s name, it means that we went right into that song, with little to no banter.
Alright, here’s the setlist for last night’s show (with fun facts for a few of them):
(began with Countdown Intro over the PA)
Also began with Sorry I F*cked Up The Show (played twice in a row and sung by me: one for the previous night's show, and the second one was in advance (because my voice was still a bit unstable))
1. I Hope That I Get Old Before I Die
2. Particle Man
3. Number Three
Sung in F Major (the same key as the album version).
4. Cage & Aquarium
5. Older
Featured no backing track, just the guitar and accordion.
Footi sang the "time is marching on" part.
6. Alienation's For The Rich
Sung in G Major and A Major (rather than A Flat Major and B Flat Major like the album version).
7. 32 Footsteps
W/ Footi playing the “Special 20” harmonica.
Before the song started, we joked about how this particular harmonica was created just for this song.
8. The World's Address
9. Whistling In The Dark
W/ Footi playing the chest-mounted bass drum.
Played in B Major, like how the Johns played it before the backing band, since we didn’t have the horn section with us that night.
10. -> Boat Of Car
W/ Footi playing the chest-mounted bass drum.
11. Hide Away Folk Family
Just like TMBG, Footi asked the audience to scream during the bridge (“People, scream as if you’re in hell!!”).
12. I've Got A Match
13. Birdhouse In Your Soul
On the written setlist, but not played (due to my voice).
13. Hearing Aid
14. Chess Piece Face
15. Road Movie To Berlin
W/ Footi adding in the extra verse that was absent from the studio version.
16. Lie Still, Little Bottle
W/ The Sitck
Also w/ Chao on the saxophone.
Before the song, we joked that when saying The Stick’s name, you always have to include “The” right before “Stick” (referencing The Cheat from Homestar Runner).
17. Istanbul (Not Constantinople)
Technically this was Footi on lead, with me on backing, but it could also be vice versa (you could go either way, really).
18. Youth Culture Killed My Dog
19. Dig My Grave
(Encore)
20. Why Does The Sun Shine?
Played in G Major, just like the Johns did back in the 80s.
For the nuclear reaction part, Chao listed the materials used for Planet Mixel's lightbulb sun: "glass, a metal called tungsten, electricity, and a LOT of solar energy".
21. -> The Famous Polka
As shown by the colored text, we did in fact sing the ending lyrics.

Bowery Ballroom Setlist #1
Time for another recap.
Thank you to everyone who came to see us last night, despite the ongoing air quality issues (don't forget to wear a mask in order to stay safe).
However, I would like to apologize for my nasally vocals, as I was somewhat under the weather last night.
Before we get to the setlist, here is a sort of key to explain certain things in the text below…
This means that I sang a song and no one else.

Alright, here’s the setlist for last night’s show (with fun facts for a few of them):
(began with Countdown Intro over the PA)
1. Cowtown
Just like TMBG, we had the audience do a square dance for this song.
2. Particle Man
3. Number Three
Sung in F Major (the same key as the album version).
4. Someone Keeps Moving My Chair
Footi stepped in to sing some of the lines with high notes, due to my poor vocals.
5. The State Got Me High
Footi stepped in to sing some of the lines with high notes, due to my poor vocals.
6. Don't Let's Start
Footi stepped in to sing some of the lines with high notes, due to my poor vocals (including the "I don't want to live in this world anymore).
7. 32 Footsteps
W/ Footi playing the "Special 20" harmonica.
8. The World's Address
9. Whistling In The Dark
W/ Footi playing the chest-mounted bass drum.
Played in B Major, like how the Johns played it before the backing band, since we didn't have the horn section with us that night.
10. -> Boat Of Car
W/ Footi playing the chest-mounted bass drum.
11. Hide Away Folk Family
Just like TMBG, Footi asked the audience to scream during the bridge ("People, scream as if you're in hell!!").
12. She's An Angel
Footi stepped in to sing some of the lines with high notes, due to my poor vocals.
13. I've Got A Match
14. Birdhouse In Your Soul
Played in its original key.
Footi stepped in to sing most of the chorus (specifically the "blue canary in the outlet" part, I still sang the "not to put too fine a point on it" part at the end).
15. Ana Ng
W/ Chao and Footi singing the "I don't want the world" part.
16. Cage & Aquarium
W/ Chao on the saxophone.
17. -> (She Was A) Hotel Detective
W/ Chao on the saxophone.
18. Lie Still, Little Bottle
W/ The Sitck
Also w/ Chao on the saxophone.
19. Mr. Me
On the written setlist, but not played (due to my voice).
19. Dig My Grave
20. Nothing's Gonna Change My Clothes
(Encore)
21. Shoehorn With Teeth
W/ Chao playing the glockenspiel.
22. Rhythm Section Want Ad
23. -> The Famous Polka
As shown by the colored text, they did in fact sing the ending lyrics.
I had left the stage early (just after Rhythm Section), due to my damaged vocals, hence why I didn't join in.
Me and Footi have recently tweaked tonight's setlist a bit to include less Linnell stuff (due to my voice still being in poor condition).

December 14, 2024 - Adunos:
So, one day, while I was drawing, I realized that every time I create a creature, I eventually end up drawing them in a scenario that isn't SFW.
As such, I came up with some creatures that I promised myself to not draw anything inappropriate about.
Then I needed to come up with a name. I considered asking my family members, but they'd probably just say "I don't know".
Then I came up with the name "Adunos".
Not sure what their skin color would be, dark gray maybe?

December 14, 2024 - December 14, 2018 (sketch):
Here's another Fridays segment I drew. This time, it's a segment from the December 14, 2018 show, where Trendy Troy decides to contribute to the holiday decorations by... making a Big Chungus model via paper instead of making paper snowflakes like he was supposed to.
Yeah, I never understood that kid's logic.

WEAR A MASK!
[Taken directly from the “News” section of the Mixels website]
(Also this isn’t actually real, just pretend that it is)
In light of the deterioration of air quality in New York City (caused by the NJ wildfires), the TMBG tribute band has requested that everyone attending needs to wear a face mask to both Bowery shows.
In the post making this announcement, Footi also stated,
"We promise to still give you the best performance we possibly can, but safety comes first."

Yesterday, They Might Be Giants' 17th studio album, Glean, celebrated its 10th anniversary (sorry this is late, I fell asleep by accident).
Now, I still haven't heard the album in full, but the songs I've heard aren't bad.
In honor of this, here's a live performance of the song Let Me Tell You About My Operation.
EDIT: Just found out that today is the 20th anniversary of YouTube's first video, so there's that.

2nd Bowery Show Announced!
[Taken directly from the “News” section of the Mixels website]
(Also this isn’t actually real, just pretend that it is)
Due to high demand from fans, the TMBG tribute band of Mixels have announced a 2nd show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York.
The 2nd show will take place the day after the band's 1st show (April 26, 2025). The show is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm (with doors opening at 6:30pm).
================================================
Apparently, our tribute music act is so popular in New York, that a second show has already been announced.
That being said, the venue isn't all that big (only having a capacity of 575). Plus, we've sold out bigger venues than this, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Look Out, Bowery!
[Taken directly from the “News” section of the Mixels website]
(Also this isn’t actually real, just pretend that it is)
Just a few hours ago, it has been decided that the TMBG tribute band of Mixels will be playing their last old-school show of the month at the Bowery Ballroom in New York.
The show will take place on the 25th of April, beginning at 7:30pm (with doors opening at 6:30pm).
================================================
So, similar to the last venue announcement, this news post was made a few days ago (Saturday to be exact), but I've been very busy this weekend, so only now have I had to post the announcement over here.
In fact, I took so long to get this posted that they've already made another announcement just a few hours ago...

December 2, 2024 - August 25, 2006:
Here's another Friday segment I doodled, this time being from the 2000s era.
Specifically, this doodle is based on a segment from the block's August 25, 2006 show, where Tara is telling a tale about how she was walking down the sidewalk, when a pigeon looked up at her as if to say "How's it going?"
I'll probably draw more segments like this in the future. Maybe then I'll be able to make up for the lack of Fridays drawings lately.

VENUE ANNOUNCEMENT
[Taken directly from the “News” section of the Mixels website]
(Also this isn’t actually real, just pretend that it is)
Earlier this week, our Mixel friends who head the tribute band dedicated to They Might Be Giants announced that their next old-school concert will be held at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA.
The show will begin on Friday April 18th at 7:00pm, with doors opening at 6:00pm.
================================================
Okay so, this announcement was actually published to the website last Friday, but my computer has been having trouble with trying to access the website. As such, I've only just now been able to get this posted, my apologies.

Possible New Running Gag?
I watched ABC's Good Morning America this morning. They completely forgot to talk about this:

I also watched the previous 2 episodes when they aired, where they also said they would talk about something (one was about a recall of yellow Tostitos bags), but then forgot to actually talk about it.
As such, I thought it might be interesting to do this with every GMA episode I watch.
UPDATE: Never mind, they actually did talk about it. I just wasn't paying attention.

November 27, 2024 - Costume for Sundae:
So one evening, I was re-watching some episodes of the Jacksfilms series JackAsk, when I came up to episode 82.
In it, Jack and his wife, Erin, brought up how one of their dogs, named Sundae, completely freezes in place whenever she has a costume on. Meanwhile, the older one, Klondike, doesn't mind wearing costumes.
In the process, I randomly drew this sketch, mainly to improve my dog-drawing skills.
And now I'm wondering what Chipwich thinks of wearing costumes. Considering she wears a vest all the time, she probably doesn't mind either.

Setlist From Last Night's Show
(as always, this isn't real, just pretend that it is)
Thanks as always to everyone in Chicago who showed up last night.
That said, I think we'll structure the order of songs a bit differently next time, rather than using a random website to shuffle them around.
Before we get to the setlist, here is a sort of key to explain certain things in the text below…
This means that I sang a song and no one else.

13. Put Your Hand Inside The Puppet Head
During the bridge, I yelled "AWESOME GUITAR SOLO" a bunch, similar to how John Flansburgh did that once when playing this song back in 1987.
14. Don't Let's Start
15. Mr. Me
16. Shoehorn With Teeth
W/ Chao playing the glockenspiel.
