July 10, 2025 - What Happens Next?:

As we move into week 2 of my Catscratch event, here's a little something I like to call: What Happens Next?

The game's very simple, I show you a picture of a scenario involving some characters, in which I then let you guys decide what follows.

For this drawing, Blik asks Gordon to answer the door after he hears the bell ring. When Gordon opens the door, he looks down to see a brown-furred puppy looking up at him.

Now, what do you think is gonna happen next?

Maybe it's cold out? Will Gordon choose to bring him in so he doesn't freeze out there?

Will the puppy proceed to run into the mansion before Gordon can decide what to do?

July 9, 2025 - Photoshoot:

Happy 20th Anniversary, Catscratch!

For this big event, our crew invited the three cats of Cramdilly Mansion to a special photoshoot in honor of this anniversary.

All three of them were meant to be on top of the huge "20" sculpture seen in the photo, but Mr. Blik forced his brothers (Gordon Quid and Aaron "Waffle" G. Aliquis) to move off to the side.

The led to them both having to grip onto the sides of the sculpture. Gordon was noticeably worried during the photo-taking part because of this, even though they weren't that high up at all (the floor was right below the picture).

Oh yeah, and Waffle decided to bring his lucky newt (named Gomez) with him.

Anyway, with this being my big anniversary piece for this event, does this mean that I'm finished with my Week of Catscratch?

Nope, not at all.

Like I said earlier this morning, I've expanded this event by another week, since I still haven't finished all my drawings, nor have I gotten through the whole series yet.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm just gonna sit back and relax until tomorrow, now that I'm finished with this piece.

July 8 - 9, 2025 - Simon and Waffle:

Simon: What exactly do you mean by 'looking familiar to you'?

Waffle: I think you're that one cat who's name was used for that new breakfast place that me, Mr. Blik and Gordon went to yesterday!

Simon: Oh yeah, "Simon's Breakfast Buffet"...

(Before we begin, I should preface that the breakfast idea wasn't by me. It originally came from a Catscratch fanfiction, in which Mr. Blik explains a nightmare he just had to Gordon and Waffle. The nightmare in question is him experiencing the exact same stuff that Mr. Black (his Gear counterpart) experienced during the events of the original Gear comic. As my anniversary drawing is nearing completion, here's a drawing I finished last night, featuring Waffle and someone who looks... oddly familar.

For this drawing, I attempted to reimagine Simon in the world of Catscratch. I think it looks... fine.

Unfortunately, his time with Waffle (during which they'd get to know each other quite well) would only last a week, since Simon's owner getting a cold led to the owner getting germs on the food, with the end result being the buffet's closure, and Simon and his owner being forced to move away.

The germ issue also leads to Mr. Blik getting a cold as well, with him briefly assuming that it's Simon's fault, since he first falls ill around the same time that Waffle first brings Simon to the mansion. Thankfully, Blik is eventually convinced otherwise.

This is when Simon breaks the news to Waffle that's he's moving away.

As Gordon, Blik and Waffle head back to the mansion, Waffle dejectedly sighs and mutters,

"Now I just wanna tell Simon that I miss him already..."

Also, Emperor Pago reminds me of Batman for some reason (even though they act nothing alike).

Maybe it's because of that thing on his head.

I haven't seen ANYONE draw this character doing the infamous "Gendo pose"

so I thought I'd do it since this guy kinda reminds me of Gendo.

July 8, 2025 - Keyboard Rhino:

Here's a picture of Raj and Clam (two thirds of the Jelly Cabin at Camp Kidney) chatting at tonight's reunion, and it seems that Clam has brought a keyboard with him.

From what I've heard, Clam has been playing music with that keyboard around the city. But he's not doing it for the fame (I've heard that he's more interested in making music than the fame that sometimes comes with it), rather he's doing it so he can have money to feed himself.

That's completely fine of course, food is very important for not dying. And hey, if he can recreate the sound of an orchestra by just blowing into a glass bottle (i.e. Prodigious Clamus), I can only imagine what he can do with a keyboard like that one.

As for Raj, well... I actually don't know what he's up to nowadays.

(IRL Davis input: A year or so ago, I briefly had the idea of him being a police officer in the CN City, but I just didn't feel that it fit with Raj's character, so I scrapped the idea)

Alright, I'm gonna get back to work now.

July 7 - 8, 2025 - Meeting Your Past Self:

While we are currently still in the Week of Catscratch (which I'll likely have to expand by an extra week because I still haven't finished all the drawings, nor have I finished watching the series yet), I'd be stupid to not mention that today (July 8, 2025) marks the 20th Anniversary of Cartoon Network's Camp Lazlo.

From the episodes I've seen, I feel there's quite a charm to it, even as someone who never went to summer camp (or at least not one like Camp Kidney).

I've heard that in honor of this event, most of the characters will be attending a reunion. I believe the reunion party is going on as I post this.

For this drawing, I came up with the idea of Lazlo as an adult interacting with his younger self.

Now obviously, I don't know how something like this could even happen, but let's just not think about that.

What is Lazlo up to now? Currently, he works in the CN City.

I asked him recently about the specifics, and turns out it's... a bit odd.

He described it as the weirdest office job he'd come across: "Creating polls for meetings" (as in 'which of these ideas is better?').

However, he's also been told to not brag about how easy it is or else the boss will fire him (at least that's what one of his co-workers said).

July 7, 2025 - Lazy Blik:

It's no secret that Mr. Blik isn't always the biggest fan of being productive.

Often, when he needs something done, he'll just ask Hovis to do it (and if he's unavailable, he'll ask Gordon and Waffle to do it).

Unfortunately, it seems that his laziness may or may not be getting to his head.

At the very least, it's certainly getting to his stomach.
