This is a happy...and at the same time a terrible ending. I don't even know how to describe my feelings. So many secrets were left unsolved and they're giving us the ending like this? I'm certainly glad that no one died, but damn... I'm very disappointed with the ending.
I don't want to say "goodbye" to rkdd. So I'll just say: See you later RKDD. See you Ron and Toto.

If this is not the end of the manga and AA is really up to something, I would like to share some weird theories about the continuation of rkdd.
version #1 "Worst version":
Toto really dies. Ron gets his license, but he couldn't recover from the death of his partner, so he went to the bottom. Away from people. But big changes are happening in the M family and it turns out that there was someone stronger and more terrible behind Alice.
Ron's friends tell him to come out and he meets someone similar to Toto. This person will help him get over the death of his past partner and defeat the new member of the M family. (I won't even describe much, because this version breaks my heart💔)
version #2 "Like Sherlock Holmes":
Toto didn't really die, but everyone thinks he did. Somehow he managed to survive (let's imagine Alice didn't survive..) and get to another country. There he tried to contact one of his friends, but could not. Surprisingly, Toto was lucky to come across good people who decided to help the poor man. Maybe there will even be a mini-story in which Toto will help the rescuers and raise his own self-esteem a little. Then he will return to Japan and meet Ron. They will continue to be partners and create their own agency💔💔
version №3"Amnesia":
Toto survived, but he is being found by someone connected to the M family. A mysterious person takes Toto with him in order to be able to manipulate Ron Kamonahashi in the future. A member of the M family does something to Toto's memory and makes him forget everything, and gives poor Toto a new, false version of his past.
After some time, when Ron has lost all hope, he accidentally comes across a living Toto in Tokyo, but he assures that he does not know Ron. Then someone takes Toto away from Kamonahashi and announces a new game. If he can win, he can take his partner back. And so a new story begins...

It's impossible to get away from this chapter.
It was very unexpected on the one hand..
I can't believe that AA would end RKDD so shamelessly at such a moment.
This can't be true.
Because then Ron's entire journey would be meaningless. Just imagine. Toto is literally the most valuable character in the manga. No one. NO ONE would be as important as him.
Who showed Ron the way to a better life? Who saved the guilty from Ron's syndrome? Who was with Ron the whole time after five years of isolation?
Only one person.
Only Toto was able to show Ron what happiness is. Only he was with him the whole time. Even if Ron didn't appreciate his person (especially in this arc) Toto still helped him.
Toto is literally the center of this manga. Yes, it's very thoughtless to say so, but it's true. Neither Ron nor the other characters are the center.
Toto is literally the last piece of the puzzle that holds the whole picture together. Taking this piece away means destroying the whole picture.
The entire journey that Ron has gone through as a character will make no sense if Toto dies.
Throughout the manga, Toto could ask himself the question: "Who is he without Ron?"
BUT NO ONE WILL SAY: "Who is Ron without his partner?"
Toto is an important character. Even a thousand diamonds are worthless if you put Totomaru Ishiki on the other side of the scale.
He is literally the foundation of this story. The character that started it all.
And the character that if he disappears, everything will disappear.
We know so little about Totomaru, but we can definitely say that he has a big heart. Toto is too good for this world. Toto is too valuable to lose.
a little sketch by me

Say what you want, but I will never believe that this is the end of the entire manga. I just won't believe it.
We have so many unsolved mysteries that it's even funny to end the ENTIRE MANGA at such a moment.
(But if this is really the end, then it will be the most terrible ending. I swear to god).
I believe that Toto survived with Alice. They were walking somewhere with a very calm step, as if a missile would fall on them at any moment, but they were just walking around the island because "wow how fun it is😆😆😆". I'm sure after Toto persuaded Alice to come back, she told him something like: I have a bunker. Go there😲😲
God give strength to all rkdd fans...
(this is the moment where I say: I'm an atheist by the way😃😃😃)
And I don't believe this guy is dead. Kissaki, get up...We know..Please..

And one more thing. Chapter 169 reads so perfectly to the song: "Living legend - Lana Del Rey" , "All i need - Radiohead " and " Where I end and you begin - Radiohead" (especially the last song💔💔💔)

When I said, "Toto will do something important in the next chapters."
I DIDN'T MEAN HE WAS GOING TO DIE.
WHAT THE FUCK?????

Is everything clear now? It's like it's already clear that Alice is mentally ill or something. Well, she's clearly out of her mind, and so is her mother. Does this mean that someone is behind her?

(damn, her face 😭😭😭)

AND OH MY GOD. TOTO FINALLY SPOKE 😭😭😭
I wonder how they will get off the island now? For some reason, it seems that Toto will do something extremely important in the next chapters for the safety of everyone on the island.
AND WHY KISSAKI WALK SO STRANGELY?

OKAY...What about the names of the other characters?..
I decided to start with the Moriarty family first.
"Milo" has several meanings. In Latin it means "soldier", but in German and Slavic it means "merciful".
Very ironic, right?
And in general, I think that the meaning of soldier is perfect. From the very beginning, we were shown Milo as the head of the M family, but I kept thinking that he was not the head at all. And after the cruise arc..When Milo was found on the coast, he was told that now the head of the family is someone else.
Well, it was clearly not Alice standing there. This someone has a male shadow.

Maybe there were no leaders all along? Neither Milo, nor Alice..
Maybe someone was always the only leader of the M family and watched everyone from the shadows?
Maybe it's even him?..

The name "Alice" comes from German, meaning "exalted" or "noble". By the way, it's a shortened form of the name Adalhaidis. This name completely suits her, because Alice is currently the head of the M family. She behaves like a person from the royal family (if I may say so).
And Winter..Well, it's "winter" 🫠
There's nothing interesting here, unfortunately.
Winter behaves quite coldly towards other characters, some would say.. But this name doesn't suit her, I said. The arc with the island proves it (especially the moment with Amamiya). Winter is not bad or evil, she's just not on the right side. You could say she's on her own side. It even seems like Winter doesn't want to be part of the M family..
There isn't much information about Teo at all. I can only say that his name means "gift of God" or "divine gift."
I love nonsense theory about rkdd.

I just read someone's post about analyzing Ron's name and decided to analyze Toto's name and surname myself.
Ishiki in Japanese, as a surname, can mean "one color", "all of the same color" or even "one shade" (I'm a little skeptical about the last meaning, but all the others are 100% true).
There is no special, any subtext in his surname that could be easily seen.
I can only think that Toto is always "one color". I mean, he is always the same cheerful, caring, kind Toto. No matter what happens to him, he will always think of others and that will never change. Even after 167 chapters, Toto's personality has not changed at all.
The Internet says that the name Totomaru can be divided into the following fragments: "To" translates as "city" or "capital; "Maru" as "whole", "circle", "ideal".
So, putting all this together, we get "ideal city". Here, as in the surname, there is very little information and no meaning at all.
BUT.
If we take another option, then at least some meaning will appear here. Let's take the shorter name Toto for analysis. In Japanese, it means fish or bird. In Japanese culture, fish is associated with health, while a bird in Japan is considered a symbol of good luck, the beauty of nature and the change of seasons.
This is interesting, because if you think about it, Toto is an important change in Ron's life. And if we remember that Toto's birthday is in spring, and Ron's in winter. If we really want to, we can say that Toto literally brought spring with him to Ron's "cold" life.
I also found interesting phraseology.
"In toto" means "in whole", "completely" or "all" in Latin. This is used by judges in courts.
Totomaru always gives his all for his work, so I think it suits him very much.
(everything that was written before is not 100% true. I still searched mostly on English sites, because there was very..no, even.. VERY little information on Japanese sites.)
English is not my native language, so don't beat me 😭😭😭
