Story Title: When Twilight Strikes

Synopsis: 

You are a bounty hunter.

Responsible for taking in rogue supernaturals, you work for IAOS—the International Agency of Supernaturals—where, alongside your best friend and partner, you two have quickly become the best hunting duo in the branch.

After a particularly tricky hunt, you brief your boss, Caine Atheron, and come back to work the next day to find that he has mysteriously disappeared overnight, the company is now in the hands of his best friend, Sebastian Mai.

And though no one else seems to question it, something tells you there's more to the story.

With bounty cases rising at an alarming rate and a second mystery unfolding, you and your ragtag team of allies set out to find the truth.

But as you go further and further, the secrets you uncover begin to make you question: who... or what exactly are you fighting for?

Thoughts: This was one of the first IF games I found. A wonderful modern fantasy story where you play as a hunter. The romance options are all well made (Kaia best girl) and each have wonderful drama and romance tied to them. Honestly one of, if not the, best IF I've found so far.

Romance options:

Arion/Arden/Adair Devereux: your best friend and work partner at IAOS of four years. Reliable and loyal, A is always by your side and there when you need a good laugh. With an easygoing manner and sarcastic sense of humour, A is loved by all, though their greatest friend is you.

Blane Rekner: a fellow hunter at IAOS and your rival. Blane despises you with a passion and will take every opportunity to make you look bad, often in the form of a snide remark. Cold and startlingly rude, Blane isn’t the most appealing person, but their loyalty and dedication make up for it.

Nikolas/Noele/Nolan Alves: Blane’s partner at IAOS. Though often overlooked, with soft smiles and genuine kindness, N is someone you can count on when having a bad day. But don’t let that fool you, for N also has a strong will and disregard for being treated badly that will make you rethink double-crossing them.

Kian/Kaia/Kai de Vries: a warlock you see out for their expertise. As an immortal, K has learned to keep their cards close to their chest and finds it difficult to trust. Their aloofness and blunt sense of humour may make them difficult to get along with at first, but, once warmed up to you, K is a powerful ally that proves to have a great amount of depth.

Rylan Villanueva:a bounty you’ve previously failed to capture. A flirt through and through, Rylan’s signature moves are sharp smirks and quick winks, the signs of someone who enjoys the sight of someone flustered. Their sarcasm and charm often take up the forefront of their personality, but, while seemingly shallow with their wandering eyes, Rylan’s bed remains empty, preferring to spend nights alone.

Overall: A perfect mix of Romance, Drama, Fighting and the supernatural. I'm addicted to this one and each chapter is gold to me. They can be found at @evertidings so make sure you check them out.

Interactive Fiction Spotlight-02

Story Title: God Syndicate

Synopsis: 

You've always been angry.

Rage comes naturally to you. With how much life has messed with you it's only fair that you use your anger. That's why you became a boxer. The thrill of breaking an opponent. And hoping they might break you in turn. They never do though. Every fight is a disappointment, almost as much of a disappointment as they pay for each fight.

Enter Jackie Roth, club owner, mob boss, and former god. When she offers you a job you can't say no. Not that you would, not when she and everyone in her gang feel so familiar to you. At least with this job you'll be able to use that rage inside you more.

As you learn the ways of the criminal underground you reconnect with people you never met. Reforge bonds that you've never made. And recall memories you've never had. You were a god once upon a time, can you become one again?

Thoughts: I found this one recently as well. It's quite good for those who enjoy or are interested in a modern version of the Greek gods. You play as a reincarnated Ares who doesn't remember the past. Many of the romance options are fellow reincarnated gods, with a good mix of male/female and multiple gender selectable characters.

Romance options: Zeus: Jackie Roth(She/Her): Jackie is The King of The Gods and she makes sure everyone knows it. Her word is law in Elysium and beyond. Fail her and you'll have a storm waiting for you. In the years since your disappearance Jackie's love for her family has seem to only grow. But she has a criminal empire to run and you're just the weapon she needs. Hermes: Riley Liao Zhi(Selectable):The Messenger of The Gods. Or in Riley's case, the ever bored personal assistant to Jackie. Riley's an adrenaline junkie with a heart of gold. As the one who found you they feel almost responsible for you. But why do they also seem so afraid of you? Apollo: Franco Valerio(He/Him): As expected of The God of Music, Franco's your classic rich and famous rock star. Well he would be, if only he could get out of Elysium. His love of singing and love of his family are two chains he can't break that tie him here. Will your arrival help break those chains or tighten them? Aphrodite: Damiana "Dame" Rivette(Selectable): Quiet and Serious, Dame is no longer The God of Love they once were. The passion of their life faded and now bitterness grows where love should. The only friend they have in Elysium seems to be their fiance, Johnny. To make their life even worse, you arrive. The Mortal: Sigourney Hawthorn(She/Her): Newly divorced from a god, Sigrouney struggles with juggling her (demigod) child, relentless job, and love life. As her daughter, Claudia, grows she wonders if she can keep up or if she'll be left behind. And now with your arrival Claudia's godly family gets bigger and her presence gets smaller. Artemis: Rebel Reyes(Selectable):How can The God of the Hunt thrive in the city? The prey here are either too weak or too annoying to hunt. The only thing Rebel craves is to feel that thrill again. With your arrival they have a perfect chance, who better to hunt than the God of War? They can't wait to meet you. The Old Flame: Harper Ward(Selectable): A friend from a better time. Harper and you were once inseparable. They saw you at your darkest and kept you calm. Years after an explosive break up they've reemerged into your life far different than you knew them. Can you find the dying embers of your old friend? Is it even worth the pain?

Overall: A wonderful story that implements the gods and reincarnation quite well. I have hope that this will be continued and I hope people give them more love. You can find them at @god-syndicate-if.

Interactive Fiction Spotlight-01

Story Title: BLOOD CHOKE

Synopsis: In Blood Choke, you play as a reawakened vampire, with no memory of who you are or what you did to result in your entombment. Fumble your way through your first few days after waking up in a strange, overwhelming future– meet new friends and reunite with an old flame.

Navigate this new world and try to piece your past back together before it can catch up to you– and decide your future, before it’s too late.

Thoughts: Blood Choke is one that I found fairly recently in my exploration of IF games. A wonderful sapphic butch story about vampires. In it you play a recently re-awakened vampire who has lost their memories. It is a butch-female locked story, but the writing is great and if you have been looking for sapphic stories this is for you. It is currently up to the third chapter but there is quite a lot in those three chapters and the prologue to hook you. Along side that it has a poly route with all three romance options.

Romance options:

Clear Rivers- A butch human woman who meets you on your first night free. Confused and dragged into your mess. Hana Lee: Another vampire who met Valentina after you were sealed, she seems to have filled the space you left, for a time. Valentina: Your lover and a very old vampire. having been together with the MC for somewhere around a hundred years before the MC was entombed.

Overall: Quite a fun read, a bit niche but for those interested it definitely works well. If you are interested definitely check out @blood-choke or their demo on kithj.itch.io/blood-choke and make sure to give them love!
