I was sketching out practice panels for an idea that I've had in my head for years but never had the motivation to at least have it sketched out. It's not even a grand idea or anything it was a just meme naruhina mini-doujin lol but, anyway, I really like how Naruto looks here. Drawing out his expressions is fun!

I like and agree with posts that give the writing advice to not be bound by conventions of writing (ex: nothing other than "said", no adverbs, etc) but I also think a lot of people don't realize that you should know and still practice those conventions. Like any art, there is value in learning the foundational skills, because it teaches you where they're strong, where they're weak, and most importantly: how to break those conventions in an effect and well-crafted way.

Absolutely write outside of conventional expectations, but don't throw the rules out altogether! Study it, practice it, exercise it. That will make your writing better and your breaking those conventions more powerful if you do.
