a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted
their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"
"Every writer"?
come on

Tip: The best way to eat a stale croissant in this one's opinion is to make a "Croissant au Jambon". Cut the croissant lengthwise without completely separating the sides. Cover both sides in previously made Béchamel sauce. Add a slice or two of ham, maybe cut up into smaller strips so it doesn't get out of the croissant's shape too much, add some freshly grated cheese of your choosing (something that melts and becomes gooey/stretchy. Usually Emmental is used but use whatever you like/your local equivalent it). Close the croissant and top it with a little bit more Béchamel and cheese. Place onto an oven safe baking tray/dish protected with a silicon mat or parchment paper and then into a 180°C (360°F) oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let it rest a few minutes before serving hot. Peace and Love once again.
Tip: you can microwave stale croissant for 15-20 seconds and it will become soft and warm and nice. Cut it open, put butter in it. Peace and love

#several reasons#the main one is I don't like the taste#even if it's been cooked and there no more “alcohol content” in the resulting meal#the “taste” of alcohol is still there and I do not like it#when I was younger I tried several types of alcohol#I heavily disliked most of them#so I just don't consume it#also I have a strong dislike for interacting with inebriated people because of bad interactions in the past#so I don't want to be in this state myself either

I know that realistically you can only fit so many movies into a list of approximately 100, but I cannot take that "How many of tumblr's favorite movies have you seen?" list that's been going around seriously because there are some truly egregious omissions.
Some of it is very clearly recency bias, which makes me wonder if the op truly wasn't on here in 2013 or so, but you're telling me you made a list of "tumblr's favorite movies" that doesn't include Pacific Rim or Mad Max: Fury Road? Because, like, I was there, Gandalf.
#65%#but I'm pretty sure I've seen most of those movies just on my own and not because they were talked about on tumblr

I'm sorry but I need to voice something here. A croissant can ABSOLUTELY be eaten before 10 o'clock and after three o'clock, it's eaten for breakfast AND for the afternoon after school snack on a regular basis by many MANY french people.
It can also be eaten with CHEESE. Because there's such a thing as a "croissant au jambon" which is recycling day old croissants by slicing them open and stuffing them with ham, cheese and bechamel sauce and then putting them in the oven with a topping of cheese and bechamel. And those are sold in bakeries!
Lox however should NEVER be paired with croissant in my opinion, if you disagree, I will let you do it, but I will grumble about it and find you weird.
one of my top ten french behaviors is that i find it deeply jarring to see croissants (as a whole) be considered as "pastries". a Pastry is an éclair or perhaps a millefeuille or lemon tart or macaron. it is colorful and sugary and generally dainty (not always) or indulgent (not always). croissants (including chocolate/almond croissants) are Not! Pastries. but carmine, you cry! what are they then? VIENNOISERIES. like wien. you know. the city. we stole them from the austrians like a william years ago. no yeah no it Is a stupid name. still not a Pastry however,
