Alec Lightwood is the sweetest, most gentlest man out there, like even with how much burdened and stressed he must be bevause of work- he’s willing to help shadowhunters 24x7 and just wants them to feel safe and come to him. And he believes the best in people and is generally the best man out there and I have never loved him more than hearing about Alec from someone else’s pov. In other news, Alec and Magnus have raised the cutest and pettiest kids who straight up said “no” to helping their friends and once again I repeat I love Alec lightwood and his husband, the kindest man out there, and their kids- the cutest little shits out there like my life depends on it.

people who villainize jocelyn for not wanting sebastian and people who say she did nothing wrong are both mistaken btw

i'm sick of these "jocelyn is horrible!" and "it wasn't her choice to leave her son!" takes

two things can be true at once. jocelyn hated her baby. she felt guilty about it. i don't even know if sebastian looking like a demon was an actual thing or if she was hallucinating because of postpartum depression and the shit valentine was giving her and her being paranoid all the time because she knew something was wrong with valentine

she hated her son and was even terrified of him. she still took care of him as much as she could. she was relieved when she found him and valentine dead. she wished she had killed him back when he was a baby

her abandonment of sebastian is one of the reasons he turned out the way he did. and she should be held accountable for that

but her abandonment of sebastian was also partly because she was under so much pressure and was literally being gaslighted by valentine. and she should be given sympathy for that

jocelyn is a complex character and boxing her in the "good" or "bad" category does her a disservice
