the game has been put on hold to avoid triggering victims of the invasion of ukraine. it was almost going to be released on cien but thanks to, ironically enough, russian cien leakers, the game will most likely not come out for a long time.
That's such a weak excuse. I am sympathetic to the victims of the invasion but that doesn't mean every single thing that even mentions Russia should be eradicated. Especially something that's been in development since 2014. I don't see how exclusively releasing it on ci-en is going to help anything since I doubt the victims are going to go out of their way to search for a sequel to an obscure 2014 rpg game either.
I'm all for supporting artists but this just seems like a bunch of excuses. Leakers are inevitable and will always exist no matter how long you stall. You don't punish your supporters and fans just because a few people are posting screenshots on random obscure websites.
Does an rpg maker game that was announced over 2000 days ago really need to be hidden behind a paywall? Does an announcement regarding the game's situation need to be hidden behind a paywall too? That seems unusual to me.
The situation doesn't matter to me. All I know is that the game hasn't been released so I'll keep counting the days
