It's my birthday again so here are a few of my favourite pieces from the past year! These are all traditional, ranging from watercolors to inks to acrylics.

i loveeeeeee nonlinear storytelling. show me where we are. now show me how we got here. the end before the beginning. show me how it was inevitable or how many chances we had to change things(nothing was ever going to change). let's meet in the middle as all the puzzle pieces slide into place hell yeah that's the good shit.

final version vs draft...i like both for different reasons, but i ended up with the final design direction when i thought more about the story i had in mind for him

i started with the idea of a space outlaw, since i think deoxys fits that concept very well. it's the involvement of jirachi that influenced the most major changes, being that his arm is stuck in that form since jirachi attached themself to him...he ended up in his current predicament when he had the misfortune of being involved in an assassination during one of his exploits. i imagine that jirachi is the protector of some kind of nation, and one of their members betrayed and destroyed their order because they wanted jirachi's powers for themselves. it was in this critical moment that deoxys became involved, and he escaped with jirachi instead. the whole incident was pinned on him instead and his current bounty skyrocketed...

i also think part of the change was because i originally thought it would be interesting to have some mechanical parts on him, since deoxys design kind of lends to that + it would give a futuristic feeling that makes him seem more like a space voyager. i decided it against it in the end because i wanted him to be an organic being that can shapeshift easily...his human-like appearance is an imitation of the people that he grew up with
