Ok just watched the ATA 3 trailer and I got some questions and theories already:

-The setting for ATA 3 will take place in the sewers which will lead to the Hameln facility and that makes me ask: how the hell does a library lead to the Hameln facility? And that gave me an idea; what if the Kensdale Public Library was built from an abandoned area from the Hameln facility? That would explain why the bunker leads to the sewers which lead to the facility.

2. There’s this one scene in the trailer where the person we’re playing as is in what looks to be a security room and Amanda pops up on one of the screens and startled him. One thing worth noting is that the character yelps when they get startled by Amanda, which probably means that whoever we’re playing as isn’t Riley. If it were Riley, we wouldn’t be hearing any noise coming from our character. Y’know who I think it is? Do you remember those secret tapes that are recorded in the Hameln facility by someone who is always chased off at the end? Well, I think that we might be playing as them. My theory for this scene is that this is a flashback of that character running from people at Hameln and stumbling upon the security room where they meet Amanda for the first time. Another thing I want to add to this theory is if this is true, Amanda might not have her memories yet if this is a flashback because it’s implied that she started getting her memories back when Kate and soon Riley were watching the tapes. So, if this IS a flashback, Amanda would just be acting like the character without breaking character.

3: Any content of Wooly is noticeably absent from the trailer, which is weird since we just got introduced to the Wooly monster at the end of ATA 2. I think they’re purposefully leaving Wooly out of the trailer because we’ll be getting more lore from him and his monster and it makes sense as to why they wouldn’t put that in to spoil everyone.

4: What are the secret tapes going to be like? This game is going to take place in the place where everything happened, so we’ll most likely be getting more lore for them and probably more tapes that are related to Rebecca, Kate and Sam. I REALLY hope we get secret tapes related to Wooly, though. We are completely DEPRIVED of any special lore for him and a backstory overall, which is kind of sad because I love his characterization. I just hope he doesn’t turn out to be a villain.

5: The opossum is back, which makes sense because Amanda and Wooly didn’t really kill him, just made him pass out. If we look at the thumbnail of the trailer and the new logo, Wooly is noticeably angry at the opossum for being here, while Amanda is happier about him or just doesn’t care because she has her own problems to deal with. These images might say what is going to happen, though. Maybe in this game, Amanda will grow to like the opossum while Wooly is completely hating on him. I’m honestly intrigued by how they’re going to handle their relationship, especially Wooly’s with the opossum because he’s being shown to HATE this guy. Will they get to know who he was? Will the opossum act less chaotic and annoying? Will Wooly snap because of how much he’s being annoyed by the opossum and Amanda? I don’t know.

Anyway, that’s all I got for now. Can’t wait for the game to come out! I’ll be RAMBLING about it for a long time so get ready

just going to put this out there since it’s an actual problem that I have but I can never word it since I’m always afraid I sound too rude or something but I swear I’m not trying to attack anyone or be mean nor am I claiming anyone is a bad person, I just want to inform.

Almost everyone who is active in this fandom treats Wooly and Amanda odd, especially especially Wooly and I don’t like it.

Peoples takes and theories and analysis of Wooly are always so, ignorant? They always claim one thing or another which simply isn’t true or makes no sense for who we see him as. It’s clear a lot of people simply aren’t educated on things like trauma and psychological and I’m just now realizing that. Because almost more then half of what everyone says about Wooly? They would not be saying if they had more forethought and empathy for him. A lot of this could apply for Amanda too! But Wooly is the more mysterious character out of the two which makes people say more wild stuff about him.

I don’t want to sound pretentious or cocky, I’m not saying everyone else is dumb and I’m not, I’m coming from a place of hurt. It hurts seeing the way this fandom acts about Wooly and Amanda, especially Wooly. People often aren’t coming from a place of true understanding for him, they fully aren’t recognizing how he and Amanda are abused.

and yes they are. they, by definition are abuse victims since, they are getting abused by Hameln. We can not have a proper conversation about these two if we don’t call it what it is. We can not have a empathetic discussion about this if we don’t address the root of a lot of their trauma. We need to talk about the awful, we need to talk about the topics that are hard and uncomfortable, because the treatment that they aren’t any of those things? Is an awful rhetoric that can and has effected how people are with reality, if you don’t admit some things to be abuse then you are giving yourself a path to deny someone’s actual experience.

so much of how this fandom treats these two is so underhandedly dismissing, ignorant and uneducated and I’ve actually spiraled about this. Because it made me feel as though I for also being a traumatized hurt kid was bad in some way for simply wanting to be safe and loved. Please be careful with your wording please.

again this isn’t meant to call anyone out or be rude or anything like that, I just want people to be more empathetic. I’ve talked a lot about this in my drafts and I’ve always been iffy about weather or not I should show them or not but you know what? At this point if someone takes offense to what I’m saying despite my constant points to make sure they know that I am not attacking them, then that’s on them.

one thing I also really need to bring attention and drive home is how this fandom treats Wooly specifically. HE IS A CHILD. people always say that they want to or they are extending the same amount of empathy they have for Amanda to Wooly but they actually aren’t, they are not actually fully extending that empathy to him whatsoever. Your words don’t mean anything if you don’t actually do it. People act as though Wooly is 10x more sinister then he actually is, as if he has more forethought and planning then he actually does. They genuinely lack a lot of empathy for him and are never fully 100% admitting

HE IS A CHILD. An ABUSED CHILD. Don’t shy away from that, say it with your chest say it Loudly and proudly.

It might just be me but I’ve always found the butchers design to be the scariest. I think it’s because of the simplicity and how he moves. Like he has no expressions and all he does is raise and lower his arm I HATE ITTT.

Compared to Amanda and Wooly he really stands out because both of them are characters that we can relate to at least in SOME way. But he is just there and that’s it. Even in the pilot I never liked how simplistic he was UGH IDK WHY IT BOTHERS ME SM.

Him having zero personality (excluding what we see in the second game) honestly just makes him feel so unpredictable.

ANYWAY YEAH SORRY FOR YAPPING LOL THESE CHARACTER DESIGN ANALYSES ARE AMAZING

You know what?! I'm going to keep talking about Amanda the adventurer designs-

The meatman! It's really interesting how unscary his design is. He really looks like a character in a kids show. More specifically he looks like a vintage toy

He specifically reminds me of vintage fisher price little people. His eyes look like googly eyes. His body looks like an americanized chinese food box. Just everything about him looks unassuming EXCEPT for his job. He's a butcher. He looks unsettling surrounded by meat.

The meatman is not made intimidating or scary by his round, friendly, goofy design. It's by context. Amanda, as the main scarer character in this HORROR game, has many scary scenes. The fact that this "scary" character who is literally unafraid to kill her "best friend" hates/fears him so much is very telling. I'm going to say, it seems more like she hates him rather than fears him. When they enter the meatman's shop, Wooly seems to be more afraid despite not reacting to most "meatman" answers. Amanda on the other hand just sadly says: "there's nothing here that I want" and "LET ME OUT OF HERE!"

Which is interesting that she said that right in front of the meatman.

1. Because he's clearly linked to the surgery performed unconsentually on this CHILD. And is theorized to be one of the people who trapped her in here.

2. He's with Hameln. The fact that she is saying this IN FRONT of him is WILD in hindsight.

So now I'm really reconsidering what we know about the meatman. Like I won't say she's not afraid of him because she literally has nightmares about him... and while she clearly doesn't want to go anywhere near him, she doesn't really freak out when she does. Which again, makes me feel like she fears/hates him because of what he did and what he represents rather than what he could do presently.

So like what is the meatman's deal???

I’ve been writing this long video essay about all the different Wooly theories for a few months now and IVE FINALLY COMPLETED THE SCRIPT!! It’s around 8,500 on the word count um. Idk when the full video will be done but it will take A WHILE cuz I’m slow. I might post wips here when I’m further along in development YAY look out for that.
