help women of color survive
I really do not want to do this, but I find myself with very little choice. For those of you who don't know me, we've been behind on rent for 2 months now, which is less of an issue since we've worked it out with the landlord. That being said, my partner, who is a black lesbian, needs to have a tooth extracted and doesn't have insurance that covers emergency dental. The campaign states a bit more about it, but the long and short of it is that they are in excruciating pain and need help. Between this and rent, I just can't come up with the money to make it happen, and am on my metaphorical hands and knees here asking for support. Even a dollar helps. If you can't spare that please share this.

Well-known Jewish historian, Ilan Pappe, says that he was detained Monday at Detroit airport, questioned by federal agents and had his phone copied.
According to Pappe, he was asked if he was a Hamas supporter and if he regarded the Israeli actions in Gaza a genocide.
"Who are my Arab and Muslim friends in America…how long do I know them, what kind of relationship I have with them", he added.

everyone please read this and share if you can.
Brazil is going through one of the worst climatic crisis ever seen.
i live in the southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul. we have been suffering from extreme, nonstop rainstorms for a week now. the rivers are flooding, reaching 4-6 meters above their natural level. people are being rescued by helicopters, neighborhoods are being evacuated. entire cities are slowly but surely becoming submerged in water. 60 people missing and counting. 32 deaths and counting.
and this is not new. last november also had a flood like this one. 50 dead, many material losses. it happened again this january, with thousands being left without power or water for days.
three catastrophical disasters within less than a year. three disasters only a few months apart.
this is not natural.
unsustainable agricultural practices and politics led to this. a complete disregard for nature led to this. greed led to this. always greed.
when it comes to the climate crisis, i cannot stress this enough: we need to act now if we still want to live. disasters like this are going to happen more often and they're going to be much, much worse. this flood is being considered the worst climatic catastrophe in the history of my state. i don't know how long it will take for another bigger one to happen and take its place. i just know it will be sooner than it should.

there has been more moments than i can count in the past seven months where i felt destroyed by all the death and carnage i've seen due to the colonialism and imperialism of the world. but there was something in particular about hind's death that made me think the world would stop turning bc how could anything continue given how gruesome and inhumane her death was? and yet, the world did not stop. and i thought we were once again left to remember her story only in our minds as she became another number, as her murderers went on killing unpunished, and as her mother grieved with rage when all she wanted was to keep her daughter warm and as safe as she could manage in this man-made hell on earth.
however, hind, a girl who only got to experience her kindergarten graduation, is now being immortalized in universities across the nation. her story did resonate to the masses and we will not let her be forgotten nor forgive those complicit in her death. real justice would be having hind alive, but these students are showing that they will stop the world and burn the status quo it upholds to the ground if it means her people can truly be liberated.
