sahanbi:
twenty achingly long minutes. in the duration of that time, hanbi UNFORTUNATELY got herself into some kind of trouble again. being forced to stay after and assist her professor wasn’t something out of the ordinary though. they were essentially close friends at this point of the year; which also wasn’t something new when it came to choosing who she got along with. LUCKY for her time was still running slow by the time she left the room. noticing that some people were still heading in the directions of the eatery, she dashed for her locker to retrieve a little something she whipped up for herself this morning. after she took one step passed the doors, just like that —— it didn’t take long before the usual happened —— eyes full of mixed emotions were lingering on her like a ZOO animal. ignoring them and their whispers were the two things she always resulted in doing, but she also avoided anyone who approached her in a kind manner. it wasn’t that she hated talking to someone, but that was only because one person in particular caught her UNDIVIDED attention. as she approached him, she flicked her medium red hair over her shoulder before offering a wide smile. ❝ hey babes ! ❞ she greeted from one side. ❝ i hope i’m not interrupting too much here, but do you mind if i sit with you and.. ? if there is someone here i am not aware of.. ? ❞
one thing daeki was always sure to avoid was the stares he always received when sitting somewhere public. he was told this school would be a place he could be himself, without having to hide his powers. but sometimes, it felt as though the students thought he was crazy just as much as his parents did. the pointed and whispered, with their polite friends telling them to stop. daeki could hear and see everything that happened, and he tried his best not to let it get to him. it was mostly humans that did it. those that couldn’t fully understand even if they tried, and daeki couldn’t hold that against them. his paranoia was forgotten at the sound of a familiar voice, which just made him smile brightly in hanbi’s direction. “ sure, sit down! her name’s minji but i think she’s leaving now, anyway. she doesn’t really like company. ” he explained, smiling to the spirit as she walked elsewhere.

a hint of hurt flashed on joo’s eyes as he watched the other wince, moving to sit properly on his seat and away from daeki. he knew he made the other uncomfortable, and he knew why, but he couldn’t just drop it, he couldn’t just stay away, there had to be something jooheon could do or say that would make daeki not coil away around him. he swallowed, pushing down his feelings of hurt as he followed daeki’s brief glance, head bowing slightly to his side, “ hello. “ he murmured to what he guessed was the ghost the other had been talking to, taking his chopsticks to push some ramen into his mouth. “ so. “ he started, leaning back on his chair, “ how are you these days ?? “ jooheon asked, gaze balling back on the other
daeki couldn’t do anything but watch. he felt almost frozen. the boy felt as though he was trapped with a lion, who would attack at the slightest amount of movement. perhaps it was because keeping still made him feel like he wasn’t there or he wouldn’t be seen, although he knew that wasn’t true. but daeki’s eyes followed every movement the other made, although allowing his gaze to move away as soon as it came close to making contact with his. he turned his attention to the woman, who seemed suddenly uncomfortable. “ it’s okay, you can leave. ” he spoke, bidding her a smile as she left. “ ghosts don’t like you much. ” he mumbled, going back to his own food. “ fine. same as always. ” out of politeness, he almost wanted to return the question, but he stopped himself in time. he didn’t want to know.

early hours of the morning. the worst time for daeki, as it always had been. it was dark, and quiet, with no company or light to make the boy feel even slightly secure or safe. he didn’t mind the ghosts. he grew up surrounded by them. but the night was where the bad ones enjoyed their taunting. he had tried everything, from turning on every light he could find, to blasting music through his headphones to try and drown out the voices in his mind. his eyes had been squeezed shut for hours, refusing to look at them. being finally out of isolation, he thought things would be different, but times like this he felt just as alone. it was getting late, getting more difficult to be alone, and there was still no sign of daeki’s roommate. he waited, huddled on the floor by his bed, for the one person he knew could help by just being there, but there was still no sign of the other. forcing his eyes to open briefly, daeki reached for his phone, clicking the contact with shaky hands and allowing it to drop to his lap. he could barely hear the other’s answer over the voices and wailing in his head. “ jaewon... ” he whispered. “ p-please come home. ” he strained, choking back a cry.
the library is quiet at this time of night ㅡ or morning, jaewon realises belatedly when he glances at his phone screen and a bright 2:34am greets him ㅡ which is precisely why he chooses to study at this time, headphones plugged in, one hand on the keyboard of his laptop whilst the other flips through a textbook. the only other people are the librarian who he’s gotten acquainted with and a few first years looking as stressed as he’s feeling, almost inciting pity inside him. he yawns into the back of his hand, arms reaching out above him to stretch when his phone suddenly buzzes on the table and he curses, fingers flying to silence it as he throws the librarian an apologetic look. his mouth turns down in a frown as he sees the familiar name on the screen and he answers, phone against his ear. “hey ㅡ sorry, i didn’t see the time. i’ll be home soon.” a pause, when he doesn’t hear an answer. and it makes him feel guilty for some reason. “daeki, what’s wrong?”

ksooahs:
she’s humming when she ambles into the cafeteria, her arms trying their very best to balance the sheer amount of books she’s clutching around her chest. sooah scans the room carefully, eyes hoping to lock onto a familiar face— ( a friendly face would suffice, really ). so when they finally land on daeki, the blonde almost lets out an excited squeal. it doesn’t take a second for her legs to automatically start moving in the boy’s direction, her mouth throwing out ‘ sorry! ’s and ‘ excuse me! ’s to people she’d almost collided into. ‘ daeki, hi! d’you mind if i crash? ’ she greets, warmly and enthusiastically before turning to look at the seat in front of her friend. ‘ and hello to you, too! ’ it wasn’t as though she could see who the stranger was ( she wasn’t even sure if they were there, or if she’d managed to greet them properly ) — but being polite, she’d been taught, was a must.
his eyes lit up the moment she called his name. having familiar people around him, having friends around him, it just gave him a sense of happiness and company that he wasn’t otherwise used to. he especially enjoyed sooah’s company, since she was so cheerful and kind, and she enjoyed art just as much as he did. daeki giggled at her politeness, answering back to the seemingly confused spirit. “ she can’t see you, she’s just nice. ” he explained. his attention turned back to sooah. “ she said hi. and yeah, go ahead. ” he said, gesturing to the other empty seat across from him.

sxnglukas:
And it was with bags under his eyes, near designer they were so heavy, he’d made his way through the cafeteria. After having spent the night with someone else, doing anything but sleeping, he was about ready to merely pack it in and collapse against the first moderately comfortable surface he could find. As much wasn’t an option, though. Thus, he’d found himself buying a couple of espresso shots to shield himself from dream. With the two steaming beverages in hand, he’d looked around to see if there was anyone moderately quiet he could sit with. Ever likely, there were few. The options presented not the most favourable despite his fast-track to being humble. Shrugging off the notion, though, he’d made his way towards the male talking to himself. He’d excuse the oddity for a chance of clarity. The male motioned to the free chair, already about to allow his camera bag to fall to the floor, “Is this taken, hotstuff?”
daeki tried his best to drown out the other’s consistent nagging, slurping up his food while pretending to listen. this one was particularly chattery, which was more of a nuisance at night, considering ghosts don’t sleep. hearing the remark from the person who had approached, daeki choked on the noodles, coughing and blushing for a few moments before finally being able to breathe. his gaze moved over to the woman, who rolled her eyes and left to wander over to another table. he looked back up at the other, shaking his head and managing a somewhat welcoming smile. “ nope. ” he said, gesturing over to it.

jooheon’s eyes landed on daeki as soon as he lifted them from his tray. there was something about the other that made joo always aware whenever they were in a room together. his heart was heavy. he knew daeki wanted nothing to do with him, but at the same time, he, did. and there wasn’t much he could do about it. so he took a deep breath and put on the friendliest smile he could muster - which was, in truth a genuine smile - as he walked over to the other, placing his tray on the seat next to the one opposite to daeki, “ hey, “ he greeted as he sat down, eyebrows furrowing slightly as he leaned into the other across the table to ask in an almost whisper “ i’m no sitting in anyone am i ?? “
daeki’s eyes flickered upwards, becoming instantly panicked as they processed who the person was. he tried to avoid jooheon at all costs. it wasn’t that he hated the other. he wanted to hate him, although he could never quite bring himself to do it. daeki hated what the other did, but no matter how hard he tried, the feelings he had felt for jooheon had been too strong to just get over. he avoided him in the hopes that he would stop feeling, but then moments like this happened, and it made it even more painful and difficult. daeki winced back slightly as the other leaned forward. his eyes glanced over to the ghost, who looked at him curiously, before bringing them back to jooheon and shaking his head. “no.” he said bluntly, bringing his focus back down to his food.

daeki was sat in the cafeteria, his table seemingly empty to onlookers. to others, it seemed that the boy was sat alone, talking to himself. to him, he was talking to someone sitting in front of him. a dead someone, whom only he could see, but a someone nonetheless. “ it’s not my fault you can’t eat anymore. ” he shrugged, listening to the other’s complaints. “ i don’t blame you, though. i would miss ramyun, too. ” he continued the conversation, giggling as the spirit pouted. daeki had never cared about seeming strange to others. the company of ghosts was all he ever had, so he didn’t mind it much, even if others distanced themselves from him because of it.

hey guys! i’m sara and i’m the admin here at jungyeo so feel free to come to me for anything and everything! i want everyone to have a great time here! so anyway, this is my son daeki he’s a softie plsss love him a lot and hmu for some plots! or like this post when you’ve read it and i’ll come to you!
growing up, daeki was closest to his older sister of twelve years, since she basically raised him for the first decade of his life
when he was ten, she died tragically in an accident
of course, it was devastating for him. he had lost the closest person he had in his life ….. until a few days later when he saw her again
it was then when daeki starting seeing not only his sister, but other people who had died. he could talk to them and interact with them, as if they were really there. it didn’t take long for him to realise that he was the only one that could see them
he talked to them a lot, choosing them over any other form of communication, and obviously the darker spirits got the best of him a lot of the time, leading him into breakdowns and causing him to develop insomnia
his parents admitted him to a mental care home a couple months after it began, and he was wrongly diagnosed with schizophrenia. he spent the rest of his life in isolation in the home, only getting out when a specialist from the university looked into his case and offered to give him a place at the university
personality wise he’s obvs a little weird. spending most of his life in isolation led to him not really understanding social interactions or how to act ‘normal’ or what ‘normal’ even is
he can say triggering or blunt things cos he doesn’t have any social sensitivity and he’ll openly talk to the dead people in public
he likes observing and he can be a little timid about joining in with people, but he is also very curious and open to making friends with anyone
also kinda extra sometimes
art is a big thing for him bc its how he kept himself occupied most of the time, so he chose that as his major
he still suffers from insomnia and the occasional breakdown
he’s intent on learning how to use and control his powers so he can do good and also keep the bad things out of his head
more about his power:
necrokinesis - death control
has several applications, such as mediumship - ability to communicate with the dead
death sense - he can sense when something or someone is about to die
life force control - control over the energy he gains from spirits
pls bear in mind he ha very limited control over all of these applications
possible plots:
someone to hep him with his breakdowns
someone he helps with their breakdowns
childhood friends
mutual crush
one-sided crush
course-mates
his muse
his first friend
insomnia pal/night time chill pal
