Sorry, I could never be a capitalist, I suffer from “wanting humans to have their basic needs met” disorder, where I care about people who aren’t me.

something something about how Bucky’s greatest trauma came from falling and Sam’s greatest trauma came from watching someone fall and Bucky found someone who can catch him and Sam found someone who can bounce
they’re perfect

love the idea/headcanon/concept that bucky is sam’s emergency contact and vice versa. cause on one hand bucky can be like “yes my emergency contact is captain america. he flies. he’s actually a really good guy.” and then sam has to be like “my emergency contact killed hundreds of people and tried to kill me but he’s better now”

nah since marvel is trending again I’m going to say it again louder for the people in back — canon steve rogers would never have chosen an “idyllic 1950s white pickett fence life” because the only place that man belonged was a picket LINE. the whole point of his character was that his work was never done. there was always going to be another oppressor, another bully, another person who takes advantage of the underprivileged for him to stand up to. from the moment he gained consciousness he, a chronically ill son of a working class mother living below the poverty line, used his voice and his body to protect & fight for what he believed in. I’m not sure there was ever a time pre-super soldier serum where he didn’t have a black eye. he could put the shield down all he wanted but he could never retire from being steve rogers — someone who never once turned a blind eye, who never once wanted a “reward” for his work, who never once abandoned his friends. this isn’t up for debate. this is almost a century of comic book & film/animated precedent. he may have been a man out of time, but in his words “it’s tempting to want to live in the past. it’s familiar, it’s comfortable. but it’s where fossils come from”

If there is a fanfic out there or there will be written one where Bucky has a ring on his finger and the Thunderbolts* are trying to find out who his SO is, but then at the end of the movie it is casually Captain America, please tag me.

Every criticism of Captain America; Brave New World means nothing to me, and here is why: My 11 and 15-year-old nephews, who are Black boys, loved Captain America: Brave New World. Every other review or criticism is invalid to me because when 15-year-old Billy said, “That was the best Captain America movie” and 11-year-old Manny ran around the house the next day saying, “I’m Captain America” that’s all that mattered. That’s all that matters. Two Black boys saw it and loved it. That’s important. Sam Wilson is important.

To everyone saying Bucky Barnes would never run for Congress:
This is the face he was making when Sam Wilson aka Captain America was delivering his whole speech about how he believed that "together we can do better", a speech he aimed not at an army but at politicians.

I am choosing to believe this is the moment Bucky knew what he was going to do.
We already know he was tired of fighting but he had his "amends" to make, the shield to take back etc etc. Now it's over and Sam, unknowingly, is giving him a new direction, a way to keep fighting to build a better world but not a fight to be conduct through violence.
