Actually, I think it might irritate Bob at first, because in real life, it often happens that when someone finally treats you right after a lifetime of being treated badly, it can be quite uncomfortable mentally. I imagine Bob kind of… snapping at John, trying to provoke his darker side, and then breaking down when John keeps treating him with attentiveness and care, ugh, I adore them 😡

i like the idea that bob has sexual experience but he doesn't have good experience. he's never been with anyone who cares about him more than the sex. he knows what he likes and what he doesn't like but he's never been in a position where he felt safe enough to ask for it.
