Thought of more, new lore for mine tron ocs... this includes RYaN's User this time, Vassili. He didn't yet have a suit for the Grid (due to lore), but since I had new ideas, he finally has one!

Couple concepts for custom lightcycles for my TRON story

I feel like I need to do a small clarification about how the relationship works between CLU and both Vassili and RYaN.

So this is part one: Vassili and CLU.

We can start off by the fact that RYaN came almost a year after Vassili and CLU met in the Grid, so there was plenty of time for them to get to know each other (?) Or near enough.

So first off, Vassili feels curiosity towards CLU due to the fact that he's basically an AI, something that is able to speak back to him and maintain a conversation yet maintain the humanly vibe despite the somewhat robotic tone in his voice, not to mention how fluid he looks to him, how powerful and yet respectful he seemed to be. So curiosity evolves to amazement, perhaps with a hint of admiration to it. By this point, Vassili has been working alongside CLU on a project of his - with conditions and rules, but together anyway. This would make them associates, to some point.

For CLU was different, though. He wasn't fond of the idea of having another user enter the Grid, but he allowed it since he saw a benefit he could take advantage of: this project of his. If he played his cards right, he'd be able to subtly manipulate the user into doing what he desired instead. Now we have amazement and curiosity against pure interest, which would only give notes of something else by the end of their associate relationship, closer to RYaN's event on the Grid.

Closer to that date, Vassili found himself falling into something forbidden (so to say), as he barely realized he actually fell for the AI. A mix of misinterpreted phrases and him being alone for years now. It was clear he craved love and idealized it in the first "person" he spoke to after so much. Again, CLU realized this way before Vassili did, so he decided to take advantage of such weakness of the user to go further on with his subtle manipulation towards him, guiding him through the project into doing what he thought was best for it.

The project itself - RYaN - it was actually Vassili trying to recode an old program of his, one that was unfinished, one that he wanted for nothing else but company, actually. But after meeting CLU, this project took a new purpose: to be part of the Grid. Vassili didn't really give the program a real purpose yet when CLU was already thinking about such a thing, and that's why he accepted to work alongside the user, to make him create the perfect warrior for him. But Vassili realized the truth a week before the launch of his new program, modifying the code as much as he seemed fit only for it to defy CLU's first thoughts, destroying the idea of a new warrior for him, and replacing it with a new one.

Now, here comes the new addition to the Grid: Novus, the security program. Yes, this Novus guy was destined to actually kind of destroy CLU's ideals from the inside, as Vassili wasn't really able to find the specific code of each little thing the program was working on. Now their relationship is... hollow. Vassili can't help but still feel something for the AI, but he has a deep rancor towards him anyway. For CLU, there isn't much that changed, really. Perhaps there's the smallest bit of pride on him towards Vassili after accomplishing what he desired - that'd be before realizing the changes he made at the last minute.

Vassili Raskalnikov, also known as simply Vassili or Vass, for his closest friends. If he ever had any. He is RYaN's user.

In short, he was a Russian military computer engineer who served the Soviet Union for a couple of years before it was dissolved. After the historic event, he moved to a remote part of Russia, where he would concentrate on honing his non-existent physical skills and, two years later, become a mercenary. Or, at least, tried to.

How did he find out about "the Grid"? Well, he didn't. At least, not at first. He had the idea of creating a program capable of stealing files of close countries as well as master plans, contracts, political interests, etc, when he worked for the USSR. However, this program had remained in an obsolete beta once the Union was dissolved. Until he took up his "project" again almost ten years later, when programming went from being a duty to being a hobby.

He was never a fan of robotics, but the fact that he managed to finish the project he started with several years ago inspired him to go one step further. He created a machine similar to the one that Kevin Flynn used to get inside his computer, but... clearly, less effective. It opened a portal of what he thought was his creation, not knowing it was actually a connection to a world that was previously created. Although, this small portal was far away from the city... a new, unknown portal risen from the ashes of the buildings of the ISOs.

This is just a bit of the full lore of this character! Which I'm still working on, so it might be a little funky and not so original as well lol,,

Life update fer those who care

I'm moving. This means I have all packed already - the house where I'm going is yet to have the electricity installed as well as the internet and sum few other things.

In the meanwhile of me getting internet and electricity once again, I'll be drawing on my dear sketchbook! So don't worry, there will still be content coming soon! But, in paper. Doodles, sketches, concepts, etc.

I'll be posting the (re)design of RYaN's user soon, too, so... yuh, stay tuned fer it! (I also have a few doodles stored of him~)
