It is actually way better for 100 addicts to get their fix on pain pills than a single person in pain go without. I call this the "Torture is bad" principle. You should be able to get the good stuff forever after a single doctor's visit. If you're worried about addicts fund rehab centers and needle exchanges instead of torturing people.
#i work in a place that has a pain management clinic#and it is by far the most frustrating to deal with those docs#because while some of them genuinely do care#here are others who never should've gone into the specialty and will try to take their acutely post-op patients off of pain meds#after major surgery (hip/knee replacements etc)#until the patient says some to their surgeon (who is down the hallway) and they lose their absolute shit on the pain doc#i've said it before and i'll say it forever-#it's better to never treat someone like they're lying in a medical setting#*because what if they're not*

so I found out I had skull deformities in the funniest way possible
#apparently the only reason i didn't snap my neck when i fell last summer#is because my vertebrae are abnormally small#so they (combined with some hypermobility) just resulted in bulging discs and strain#rather than a cervical fracture#yaaaaaaaaay for weird bodies!
