Since accepting I'm a narcissist, I've had much better communication. When I get needy, I can go "I need this cause I'm a narcissist" and it's so much easier than getting overwhelmed trying to find the right words and then gaslighting myself and ignoring my own feelings because I've been taught that my narcissistic traits are so bad and wrong and all that stigma that I've internalized.

Like I roleplay with MA and when I get all sad, I get a bit pouty so they ask what's wrong and they can easily pick up on or I can just say "I'm feeling narcissistic and neglected" and then we can work from there to make it better. Being able to use the term narcissist as just a neutral or positive term has helped me so much. And learning to not shame myself for needing attention, praise, and admiration has helped so much. Cause even if I'm disordered, I can communicate far better and be understood instead of me trying to repress my narcissism which leads to explosive fights.

It's almost like...now hear me out people that don't understand, destigmatizing a disorder and not demonizing it is a GOOD THING! OoO Woah!

That was sarcastic, but for real. Since accepting my narcissism and learning more about it, I've discovered a lot about myself and how I cope. When I'm not getting enough praise or attention, I can ask for it so much easier than getting overwhelmed by trying to communicate, going nonverbal, then having a meltdown cause my personality disorders and autism are linked together so tightly.

1. ﹕ About The AU

After waking up one seemingly normal morning, Wally soon discovers that the bad feeling he had since waking up was very much true when he steps out of his house to find it had come alive thanks to a parasite originated in So Below, which is slowly starting to spread to its surroundings — the neighbourhood.

Clearly now without a home he moves in with Barnaby, all his belongings now lost to the parasite, thus his change of clothing.  Plus the change of hairstyle, now a messy ponytail rather than his usual well cared for pompadour, since he's now too tired to style it because of the constant nightmare he has about the incident and what could happen next.

They can't ignore the problem forever, the parasite only growing stronger and bigger with every passing day, the house below it just barely visible anymore aside from its front door, almost completely untouched, almost tempting to go through.  The eyes all over it seemingly multiplying overnight, now covering most of its surfaces just so they can watch their every move.

They had to get rid of it, but how?

why hello! many many questions, viewer. i’ll try to answer all of them!

🫙 — i’m working on a small rundown of the AU, but i’ve been focusing on drawing for the most part. however, there will be one eventually, haha!

🫙 — all viewers come in red, (the same color as the light on a recording camera!)

🫙 — wally is not a vampire, although he has had to do some… vampiric things in order to survive after he ran away.

🫙 — wally has many robes! the one sewn by barnaby is simply his favorite.

🫙 — i can certainly give you some fun facts!!

wally purrs when asleep or content, much like a cat.

wally walks on his toes and walks toe heel, like a dancer.

wally is actually wonderful at singing, but he sings rarely and knows very few songs.

he can hypnotize people when threatened. this is a direct result of the viewers.

he has night terrors regularly.

he worships the viewers and is completely devoted to them. (his idol was made by himself, days before the incident with Home.)

his favorite color is actually a greyish purple.

he likes cherries instead of apples.

hello neighbors! i come bearing more watcher wally lore!

it appears that wally isn’t doing too HOT, haha!

as to explain the lore itself…

this takes place long, long before wally had the idea of the nighttime show. wally was growing tired. he was tired of living in fear of Home, tired of sleeping in Barnaby’s house to avoid it, only to be met with a worse fate each time he came back.

his solution? burn it. burn down Home. it was made of wood and nails, after all.

however.

this is written in such a way for a reason.

“ as above , so below . “

wally didn’t know this.

so as wally lit a match and threw it into Home, he began to feel hotter, and hotter, and hotter, until he realized he was burning too. he couldn’t put it out.

he thought he was going to die there, but through how blurry his vision was, he could see his neighbors running to put out the flame, Frank leaning over him, his head swimming, and then the dark.

when he awoke, he was in Howdy’s shop, in the back. Barnaby laid kneeled on the floor, the rest of his neighbors standing circled around him, with only Howdy himself missing.

“what happened?” one asks, and he felt his heart break.

he couldn’t tell them about the terrors of Home. he was meant to carry that burden alone. so he looked down at himself to see his felt skin burned and scorched and blackened with ash. he could see it slowly healing bit, pieces of his skin overlapping back to that natural yellow hue.

“Howdy is repairing Home,” Frank said, quiet. “what happened, neighbor?”

wally shook, and he suddenly felt his nonexistent gut wrench. “i don’t know,” he told them, the lie rolling off his tongue easily as ever. he looked down at the ground as he realized what had really happened to him.

he couldn’t destroy home. it would destroy him in the process.
