Why RothFrye is the Victorian version of Romeo and Juliet:

The lovers belong to opposing factions.

Their families disapprove of the relationship.

Both male leads have a habit of climbing walls — they’ve snuck into their lovers’ rooms through windows.

The female lead (？) dies for love.

Romeo and Juliet is a Shakespeare play, and Roth’s original name, Oberon, also comes from Shakespeare.

Romeo and Juliet’s initials are R and J — Roth and Jacob’s initials are also R and J.

All four of them have never appeared in the same place at the same time.

Jacob and Roth have never officially denied being Romeo and Juliet.
