It’s been two years since I made Dead Susan- it ended up going to three festivals including a BAFTA & BIFA qualifying one and now it’s finally out for online release! It can be watched for free on Omeleto’s youtube channel. Thank you to all who helped make it a reality
Featuring uncanny children, Miles Richardson being mysterious, and totally no parallels to Romana & Sartia
Sorry for the delay everyone, making the behind the scenes stuff took quite a while because I had to juggle it with uni assignments, but all the BTS content is now uploaded, so I will start sending rewards out tomorrow!
The blooper reel took almost the most amount of time despite being the shortest, but it was very worth going through all the footage for the funny stuff
Amazingly, not only did we reach the goal, we exceeded it by almost 20%, with 64 backers across 6 countries!
I’m so excited to begin the edit. I’m already looking at portfolios, but in the New Year I’ll officially hire my editor and post-production will start in earnest. I’ll also be working myself on getting the Behind the Scenes content and all other extras ready, I plan to release those at the same time as the film itself.
Because we reached the goal, we’re in Indiegogo’s InDemand program, so if the unfortunate timing of the campaign being so close to Christmas put you off, you’ll still be able to pledge to see the film up until it’s completed! (I do plan to raise the price of these slightly, so that people who got in there early have a benefit, but first I have to figure out how that part of Indiegogo works, so you have some time...)
And a special thank you to @doctress, @thebraxiatelcollection, @irving-braxiatel, @thejabberwocki, @janeturenne for all the help in getting the word out <3 Have a cute cat photo:
We’ve reached our goal ahead of time, thank you to everyone who’s pledged!
The production itself was self-funded by myself and my co-producers, and was still only possible through favours from family, friends, and organisations such as YATI.
Having these funds for post-production means I’ll be able to finish the film at a much higher standard by hiring professionals rather than doing it all myself. Thanks to all your donations and contributions, I’ll be able to make the film the best possible version of itself!
We’ve already raised extra beyond our goal, those and any other funds raised will go towards:
-hiring a specialist graphics artist to create a film poster or two
-some VFX to cover some small signs that a key location is a studio set rather than a real room- no one’s ever noticed at computer-screen size, but on a cinema screen it’d be more noticeable
-distribution related costs such as the creation of DCPs and the creation and postage of festival blu-rays/dvds
