Reviewing my most recent posts (from December, since I've been away), i think there's something to be said about how stress affects a person. I felt like i was reading posts written by a manic stranger's stream-of-consciousness. Really, i was just being overstretched by poor boundaries and was trying to excuse it by ignoring it.
To be honest, the only thing that consistently pulls me out of those headspaces is my spirituality. It's open-minded and loving enough that it feels safe, yet it's full of wisdom and structure that can help a person reconstruct their life into something meaningful.
I hope so much that everyone will find a safe space in the recesses of their own minds and hearts that helps them foster meaning and healthy boundaries in their own lives. There is no substance that could patch up the consciousness wound that a balanced spiritual safe space can heal.
I love you all and am glad to be back and thinking more like myself again 😘 Hope you're doing well 💖

My altar for the season. I didn’t take video of the rave roses flashing through the colors of the rainbow because I know there are some folks who have difficulties with flashing lights. I had the main light in the room of to really show off these nifty electric candles. I had to switch to electric candles because the landlord has banned regular candles out of fire concerns. I suspect Beloved will be giving me a pile of books and batteries for these candles as my holiday gift. LOL

“And She stood in contemplation upon the waters of the first darkness; like a great Dove upon the waters She brooded. 4 And She became absorbed within Her and communed with Her own Self; and Her light ceased to shine forth from Her, and yet Her light grew greater. 5 And She fell to Her knees. And the surface of the waters became turbulent, and the great waves curled over Her, and their white foam could not be seen in all that darkness.6 And when the waters became calm again, the Mistress of All Things rose to Her feet. 7 For She had conceived a Daughter that was not separate from Her, but one with Her, and the child of Her Light.” -Eastminster vol1, The Clear Recital. The Mythos of the Divine Maid

The natural world is more interconnected than you can possibly imagine and learning about it just gives you an endless cascade of realizations about symbiotic relationships that permeate every level of the ecosystem
I've been learning about fallen leaves. Many of you may know that fallen leaves are used by many moth and butterfly species to hibernate through the winter. This, my friends, is only the very beginning of the leaf layer's importance.
The layer of fallen leaves that covers the ground in winter has the following functions (and more):
Keeping the soil temperature more consistent
Insulating the earliest spring flowers to stop them from freezing
Protecting plants late in the year from being killed by early frosts
Sheltering 94% of moth species during their winter hibernation as well as many butterflies and other insects
Fertilizing and enriching the soil. The nutrients in fallen leaves are the main source of soil nutrients in habitats worldwide. Streams and rivers in forests carry the nutrients of leaves far and wide.
Providing habitat for predators like salamanders and spiders.
Suppressing weed growth.
Improving the germination of tree seeds (e.g. acorns)
Attracting beneficial microbes
Increasing the water holding capacity of the soil
Providing a food source for birds to feed their babies on in the spring (insects)
What's more, the fallen leaves of every species of tree have different properties that affect their effects on the ecosystem, including: size, shape, toughness, and speed of decomposition. The leaves of broadleaf deciduous trees are optimized to support and fertilize the deciduous forest environment.

Weekly Wikipedia Repair Roundup
Aruru, vegetation goddess. She’s basically just a name of Ninhursag in later sources, but this is meant to be only about her fully separate original self. New page.
Damkina/Damgalnuna, Enki’s wife. Actually not the same goddess as Ninhursag in origin.
Narundi, sister of the Sebitti.
Ulmashitum, gijinka of a temple in the city of Akkad. There’s an inscription with Ninshubur and, technically, two Inannas there, very profound. New page.
I’ve gathered a lot of new material recently so the Ninshubur page has been updated. Things left to do: information about Ninshubur in Isin, Larsa and a few other places (got nothing so far beyond “she sure is attested there”), info on Olga Tokarczuk’s novel and its adaptations (comic, stage) for a “modern reception” section (I do not like it much but I think a Nobel prize winner is notable enough to warrant this); I need to find enough sources to make it worthwhile.

In the Ancient Near East and Mediterranean world, the dove became an iconic symbol of the mother goddess… Shrines from the Iron Age Levant depict doves perched atop the doorways of these mini-temples. On one example from Cyprus, the entire exterior of the goddess’s shrine is covered with dovecotes. The doves represented feminine fertility and procreation, and came to be well-recognized symbols of the Canaanite goddess Asherah and her counterpart Astarte, as well as her Phoenician and later Punic embodiment, Tanit. First-century B.C. coins from Ashkelon bore a dove, which represented the goddess Tyche-Astarte… Goddesses such as Venus and Fortunata could be seen depicted in statues with a dove resting in their hand or on their head…
Many ancient Israelites believed the goddess Asherah was the consort of their god… Perhaps it is not so surprising, then, that the heirs of this Israelite religion incorporated the “feminine” symbol of the dove to represent the spirit of God (the word for “spirit,” ruach, is a feminine word in Hebrew). The Babylonian Talmud likens the hovering of God’s spirit in Genesis 1:2 to the hovering of a dove… “Hovering” language is used to describe God’s spirit in the Dead Sea Scrolls as well as the New Testament.
There’s also plenty of verses in the Hebrew Bible about God protecting people under her wings.
Anyway I thought this association with female deities was too perfect so I googled “dove ancient near east” and “dove male deity near east” and literally ALL that came up was about female deities.

Super fascinated lately by all of the names and cultural representations of Déa throughout global history and there is just TOO MUCH to take in. I love that Love is so prevalent in the evolution of humanity, despite the brutality of war that has consistently overshadowed it. There is a seed of hope to be found under every rock.

The Evermore Grimoire: Mythology
Hathor (ḥwt-ḥr meaning ‘House of Horas’) was a major goddess who played a wide variety of roles including love, fertility, women, sky, music and dance in Egyptian mythology. As a sky deity, she was the mother or consort of the sky god Horus and the sun god Ra, both of whom were connected with kingship, and thus she was the symbolic mother of their earthly representatives, the pharaohs. She was originally a personification of the Milky Way, which was considered to be the milk that flowed from the udders of a heavenly cow. Hathor was also known as ‘Lady of Stars’ and ‘Sovereign of Stars’ and linked to the brightest star in the night sky, Sirius.
