You ever think about how Husk probably begged Alastor to give him back his power and money and take his soul?
You ever think about how Husk probably used to be so enarmoured with being an Overlord, with having his own casino and all that money that he was willing to give up his own soul to the Radio Demon in order to gain at least some of that power back?
That he was so blinded by his lust for power and his greed that for a short moment as Alastor actually agreed he was actually happy because his soul meant less to him than his power?
You ever think about how Alastor was probably in a similar situation when he made his own deal?
That one of the reasons Alastor views Husk as nothing more than a 'pet' is because he would actually have to see a bit of himself in Husk the moment he starts seeing 'Husker' as an actual person?

A confession of love was nothing to this, Alastor thought. After all, those were about a temporary but intense feeling at best, in the Radio Demons opinion. But this, this admission was forever. Words tying Alastors own personal cat demon closer to him than any wedding vow ever could.
"I will never leave you", words spoken and a promise made by thousands if not millions of others before. Meant or not , it usually did not matter because it rarely if ever lasted. But this would. Because Husker belonged to him. Because they had a rather wonderful connection that allowed Alastor to stomp on every dream or thought Husker might come up with about his potential freedom.
But today, this admission wasn't enough. This simple admission and promise made was not enough, because Alastors own soul currently (he already had a plan in motion on how to get it back and so far thinks were going his way especially now that Lillith was in the Hotel, so his own freedom was only a matter of time) did not belong to him.
That simple admission was not enough, because nowadays there were others who seemed to think that trying to take away what belonged to him was alright and that giving his Husker strange ideas about the bartenders own possible redemption would be a fruitful endevour.
So what Alastor heard beneath the simple words of 'I am yours' was 'I am yours. I am not Angels, not Lucifers. There is not a single person who has as much power over me as you do. I am not even my own person anymore, since all that I am is yours.' and it pleased Alastor in the most wonderful of ways.
'I belong to you' and oh tere was still some resistance in his Huskers voice. But that was to be expected. If Alastor had wanted someone whose obedience and submission was easy to come by, he would have chosen to keep a different Overlord alive. But he had chosen Husker, had chosen to keep this one alive and 'well' as long as he would behave at least somewhat. As long as he never forgot his place right beneath him.
But since this kind of submission was rare and hard to come by when it came from Husker, moments like these were only made even sweeter.
Yes, Alastor may not be the most feared Overlord right now. Yes, he may not even own himself and his powers were not what they used to be at this moment.
But he still had his Husker. Poor oblivious Husker who only saw this as some sort of game Alastor was playing with him while not realizing that his words were giving Alastor ownership not only over his soul (which already belonged to him) but over Huskers heart and body as well.
Red really was his colour.
Another piece inspired by @dealwithadeer 's fic.

Everyone else: Loser, Baby love confession as Angel is ascending to Heaven!
My sadistic brain:
Alastor has betrayed everyone. The hotel is slowly morphing into the domain of The Radio Demon and everyone is trying to evacuate. Angel runs back to get Husk.
Angel: “Come on Husk, we gotta move it!”
Husk: “I…I can’t.”
Angel, voice cracking: “Whaddaya mean you can’t?”
Husk, smiling softly and taking Angel’s hands:
“I’m a loser, baby
my life is fucked, but maybe if I
can get you to safety,
yours will turn out differently.”
Angel: “Husk, what’re you sayin’?”
Husk, touching Angel’s face:
“So spread your wings now and be free,
hope that you won’t resent me.
You’ve changed my view, so don’t be blue,
remember, I…love…”
A green chain shoots from the hotel, latches around Husk’s neck, and starts to yank him back. At the last moment, Husk gives Angel a shove, pushing him to safety as a barrier encases the structure.
Inside, Husk is dragged to the base of a throne Alastor occupies, crying silently.
Alastor, grinning and lifting Husk’s face:
“Dry your tears, Husker. We have work to do.”

Husk hates himself for this show of weakness. Hates how quickly he had to excuse himself as he watched the genies chains break off, with Angels reassuring and understanding coming through as a squeeze of his hands while Alastors less than kind 'reassurance in form of a squeeze of his shoulder leaving him with mixed emtions as a stood up and went for the bathroom upstairs. Thanks or unfortunally due to his excellent hearing he had heard how both Charlie and Angel wanted to follow him, but Alastor had, against Angels protest because Charlie did not know better, insited that he was the only one that could provide 'Husker' with the right kind of company. The others meanwhile, can start watching another movie.
And so, here they were. Husk desperatly trying to get his breathing back into his control while Alastor had made himself comfortable on the other side of the door. They both had a bit of tears in their eyes but out of entirely different reasons.
"Oh, this is too good, my good fellow. Did you.. did you really see yourself in that blue lamp ghost? Well, I can assure you, Husker, you are not that useful." Another laughter accompied by a laughing track and Husker knew that if he would yell out the curses that were clearly on his mind his voice would end up breaking halfway through in a way that would give the other demon more satisfaction than his silence.
"Did you really", Alastor was having trouble finishing that question due to his laughter. "Did you really fantasize about it being me who would. who would make my last wish your freedom?"
"And you would just be able to.. pack your things and 'see the world'" The laughter had reached an edge of madness that managed to calm Husk down in the worst kind of way.
He did not need for the door to be open to see and know the unnatural smile on 'Als' face as he asked.
"Did you really start to fantasize that I would ever let you go?"
"Ever let you leave me and fly away like that?"
The laugter had subsided and what was left for Husk was a metaphorical bucket full of cold water.
"Open the door, Husker."
This time, there was no humour in the voice. However, the smile and the false politeness were still obviously in tact.
"I am not going to ask twice."
Husk got up from the floor he had not fully realized he had been sitting on.
When he opened the door he was not surprised to see the smile on his Bosses face to be strangely strained despite the almost hysterical laughter just seconds previously.
"You did not answer my questions, Husker."
A sigh.
"Well, what do you want me to say you g**** f***? Yes, for a short moment I was actually stupid enough to lose myself in a stupid fantasy, you got a good laugh out of it and now we can go back to pretend this never happened."
"Good to know you learned ed your lesson. Because a fantasy it is..."
"Yeah, yeah. And a fantasy is all it will ever be."
They walked back to the room, where the Princess was already waiting, thinking and fearing that she unintentionally had brought up something horrible from his past but Husk simply told her that he preferred not to talk about it and, respecting his boundaries as she would say, she stopped talking.
It did not escape Husks attention, that Alastor made sure to keep a hand on him throughout the rest of the night..
{{Could you imagine Charlie introducing everyone to Disney movies? Everyone sits down to watch Aladdin and at the end, Husk has to go cry in the bathroom because someone named Al freed his friend from servitude.}}

@shinigami-mistress A masterpiece! This was a crossover I never knew I needed but now I do. It has been a few years since I have seen Black Butler but Sebastian meeting Husk would be a match made in Hell. I can just imagine Sebastian and Ciel entering the Hotel for whatever reason and Sebastian is his charming and polite and controlled self up until the moment he sees Husk. Because Husk is not only a human sized big fluffy cat but a cat that has wings and he has little hearts all over his body from the inside of his ears and then Sebastian finds out on the paws as well. He needs to have this cat.
Alastor would just have to demonstrate that Husk actually makes all the cute cat sounds as well and can even purr. Not only that but since Husker is a sinner the only thing that can really kill him is an angelic weapon. So even if he is heavily injured he will still come back. He has way more than nine lives. And Sebastian would be like 'I need to have this cat. This is my cat now.' Husk on the other end would maybe even plead with Alastor 'Come on Al, Boss, you can't do this to me'
And Alastor is a total bastard about it, hanging the possibility that he is actually going to 'give' Husk to Sebastian over his head 'Oh Husker, I am afraid that I have been such a terrible and negligent owner lately. So maybe you really do deserve someone .. 'better', who is all to wiling to treat you like the spoiled little 'pet' you are."
"You are.. joking. Right, Al? This is just another one of your jokes, Boss. Right?"
And Alastor just laughs and walks away.

It's finished!

Short fic: Whose fault?
Husker had been in one of his .. less than pleasant moods today. Not that the feline was a happy camper on a regular day but he either tended to be much more passive, minding his own business or actually in good spirits thanks to the delusions of Hells Princess having caught unto him. Alastor made a mental note to take care of that last part. Not that he usually minded Husker actually having any sort of positive emotions, he always preached about how good the simple act of smiling and being in a constant good mood was after all, but his cat seemed to be in need of a reminder that this was a temporary project and that redemption was nothing but a dream especially for demons like him who were better off as he was anyway.
No, Husker was in one of his moods where he decided that blaming Alastor for well, everything was a good idea.
And Alastor was in one of these moods where instead of outright punishing Husker (the Radio Demon did not easily get angry at his favorite souls, seeing Huskers little acts of 'rebellion' and outspokenness more like the hissing and the stubbornness of his catlike nature and therefore as something more amusing than annoying most of the time. Provided Husker did not dare to mention certain things) he simply decided to treat him with the truth.
"Oh, then I am quite sorry, Husker.", Alastor said as he came towards his cat (demon) in a way that was intimidating enough to shut the other demon up. "Because it seems that I .. misremember certain things. After all, the way you talk about it, it sounds to me like I forced you into our little arrangement."
They were now rather close. Alastor forcing his feline friend to look up at him by touching his face in what could be described as a sincere parody of affection "So tell me, my friend, did I force your hand? Was I the one to even bring up the possibility of you selling your soul to me?"
Ever the honest fellow, Husker answered rather reluctantly.
"No, Boss."
"Then tell me since my memory of what happened after our little game seems to be rather incomplete today."
"I... offered up myself in exchange for my casino."
"Oh, that's right. Now, I am starting to remember. You begged me to take your soul in exchange for even just half the things I won that night."
Now their faces were just inches away from each other.
"What was it that I said again?"
And oh, Alastor could see the conflict, the anger and the resulting submission and regret in these eyes.
"That you.. always wanted to have a cat."
"And what did you answer?"
"That if...if you give me back what I lost.. "
Silence hung between them but Alastor made it clear that he was not going to let Husk leave until he finished that sentence.
"I'll be that cat."
Any tension and threat disappeared into thin air, as Alastor let him go with a "Wonderful. So it seems that I was not the one to ruin your life and force you to be mine after all."
Alastor walked away, but only after shortly petting Husker briefly as a sort of 'reward' for his admission.
"Seems you only have yourself to blame for this."

Thinking about Alastor makes me both sad and angry. Because he is an idiot. There are hints of humanity and a want and an ability for genuine connection when he talks about the residents with Nifty, when he is with Mimzy and even briefly with Rosie but he is so prideful. My dude could have one of the purest, warmest and genuine people as a very close friend (Charlie), he could have a connection with someone who has made probably made the same mistakes as he did and who is suffering from the same situation he so desperatly wants to escape from (Husk) and he could have a bunch of people so willing to help him and who were happy for him to be back and alive and he... is just such an idiot for choosing his will for power and pride over all of this.

Personally, I find it quite interesting in a bit of a religious context. I mean, just imagine one of my favorite scenarios where Husk really is about to be redeemed but Alastor brings out the chain to keep him in Hell and with him. No, by all means Heaven is way stronger than some sinner with god complex but the problem is that in this case Husk would believe and fear that Alastor was strong enough to dfy Heavens will. And God with a capital G is rather known for not taking it particularly light when you worship someone or something other than Him and the blasphemy of Husks beliefs and fears could be strong enough thata the chain Alastor has on him would be enough to keep Husk there although it is not really the deal but Husk kind of deifying Alastor that would keep him in Hell.
It would actually be interesting if Alastor had his own little cult consisting of himself, Husk and Nifty where he is treated and seen as the most powerful being in all Hell (or worse, maybe even more) and Alastor would love it. To be both the most feared, the most hated but also the most adored thing in someones afterlife.
Alastor has a slightly bad day because he got disrespected but then he hears and feels that Husker is actually making a short prayer to him and it immediatly makes his day. And who knows, maybe he will actually choose to answer it, after all a little reward as a show that Alastor actually heard him could work wonders in further encouraging such a behavior.
Hey is anyone else going to obsess over a RadioHusk dynamic where Husk sees Alastor as a God that he both worships and fears or do I have to do this on my own.

Short fic: The cruelest moments
Moments like these were, Husk would come to think in the rare times where he was fully sober, perhaps the most cruel.
When they both got drunk, though Husks glass almost remained filled thanks to the person who seemed to make sure that Husk never found out just how much alcohol either had drunk by the time they walked out of whatever bar they had visited. Usually, when they arrived the bar quickly became empty except for the two of them and a terrified bartender. Either by Alastors actions or just the Radio Demons presence alone.
They would end up laughing together, they would argue but without any serious bite about things neither of them really cared about.
And Husk would feel free again, would feel like the last couple of centuries that had passed ever since he made that deal had never existed in the first place.
Like they had never become anything other than this.
Because Alastor, well 'Al' has always had the ability to make someone feel like his entire world, to make them feel like Alastor may not actually care about most people but 'they' were the exception to the rule.
And while Husk had at one point prided himself by being able to see through this act, when a laughing Alastor leaned on him instead of his cane for a bit as they walked down an empty street, he still fell for it hook, line and sinker every time.
Fell for a smile that the feline was sure was actually sincere this time. Fell for eyes that conveyed genuine fondness and being introduced to some stranger as 'my Husker' in a tone that held more than a sliver of pride.
Those moments were cruel, because Husk found himself looking for hints of these feelings when Alastor was sober. And they were there, when the Radio Demon was in a good enough mood but they were merely parodies of the ones Husk saw or wanted to have seen in the moments of affection on their rare nights spent together.
Husk found himself looking and searching for any signs that he was not deluding himself by believing that Alastor however briefly was capable of viewing him as anything more than just his possession and 'pet'.
And he scolded himself for being stupid every time he came up empty.
(clearly inspired by @irinaclockworker94 )

I love this as both something literal (even though I am curious as to how these two would even got on an island in Hell) and something more metaphorical as to how Husk feels regarding his relationship with Alastor.
Especially if take into account how Alastor possible encouraged and enables Husks alcoholism. And how at one point, Husk has no one but who is the cause and his salvation of his misery. THe only one whom he can seek comfort from and since Husk would be the one showing weakness and not him, Alastor would let him. And in a strange way, Alastor himself is also isolated, sure he has Mimzy, Nifty and Rosie but he only lets them certain parts, the more charming parts of himself. 'Husker' is the one, unfortunally or not, who experiences and sees every side of him, The only one who knows what is going on behind the smile. Maybe not always but more often than Alastor would like.
And so, they are alone together, both convinced that they have lost the ability to love or even care about anything years ago even as they hold each other.

Can never get away,
Drinking and drowning,
Glass after glass,
Stranded here like on a miserable island, only him,
I throw up on his jacket,
He holds me, that horrible smile

Okay, this is incredibly blasphemous but I am intrigued not by Husk doing something like this but how would he get there when he has solid proof that God exists? And how would you even get someone like Husk to worship anyone let alone such a horrifyingly false god like Alastor?
I think it would work best after Hazbin Hotel, and, ironically, after it has been proven that redemption is possible.
And in a verse, where Alastor would actually be able to free himself and become the one 'to pull all the strings' in hell. Just imagine Husk being just this short of redemption and Alastor breaks him down (after Angel is gone/redeemed) in such a horrifying way perhaps not even by physical but by emotional, spiritual and psychological abuse that he actually commits the atrocious and unforgivable sin of believing that Alastor is as strong as Heaven. So his belief, a belief enforced and indoctrinated into him by Alastor, that Alastor is powerful enough to keep him in Hell even if he finds a way to become a good enough person to get into Heaven would be the one thing to keep him in Hell.
I mean, imagine it's after Angels ascension into Heaven and Alastor is free and on a huge power trip and he begins to see that Husk is tugging on his leash and he sees that there is a very high possibility of him losing one of his favorite things to control. Yes, he would have his soul back but maybe now that he finallyl has the power he sought out he would be even less willing to part with what is 'his'.
But Husk is not really 'buying' anything Alastor says and Charlie and everyone (except for Nifty, curse her soul) is also encouraging His Husker, the Radio Demons personal and favorite cat demon, to also continue to better himself and try for redemption.
Well, that just wouldn't do. And he tries to tempt Husk with alcohol and to make him fall back into his gambling addiction but his belief that he can actually join Angel and Pentious is much to Alastors annoyance, there.
And so he isolates Husk, literally. Talks to and convinces Charlie, that he and his friends Husker and Nifty are going to have to take care of another project in another part of the Pride Ring. But don't worry, Alastor will make sure to promote the Hotel and in a couple of years they will be back to support her.
Nifty is left to do whatever she wants. But Husker is in need of a lesson, multiple lessons that are sure to make Husk see 'the light' or perhaps better to say 'the darkness'.
Over the course of weeks, months or even more the rather personal attention from a Radio Demon who is at the height of his power and finally free finally convinced Husker that there will never be any redemption or salvation for him, that Husker was simply not worth something like this and that Hell with Alastor as his own personal thing to worship and obey was the best option.
Alastor is actually quite happy with the result, having a broken and finally 'actual' cat demon that is willing to actually act liek one whenever Alastor wants, that is willing to commit crimes so horrifiyng just to please the one and last thing he has been convinced is all that he will ever have.
But how bad do you think it would get if Charlie needed 'Als' help again after two or three years. What if Husk was not entirely broken and what if Charlie would try to get the Husk back that last time left her Hotel and who had been on such a good path towards Heaven?
Hey is anyone else going to obsess over a RadioHusk dynamic where Husk sees Alastor as a God that he both worships and fears or do I have to do this on my own.

That scene in episode 5 but with pilot!Radiousk:
Alastor walked down the hallway. Lucifers presence was not entirely.. welcome and he certianly did not like how the King of Hell was taking away Charlies attention, trust and dependence away from him but considering he was mostly just here for his own entertainment and any of his plans have yet to fail him, Alastor is not overtly angry about him. This was just a small, insignificant set back and even if it wasn't Alastor was sure that he would find some way to at least find some entertainment in it. Besides, Mimzy was here for a visit. It had barely been more than half a year since they have last seen each other but he was glad for her visit anyway. At least some pleasant company to outweight the bad one.
Trying to ignore Charlies charmingly naive but neverending chatter about 'redemption', Alastor was not all that annoyed nor tense when he heard Huskers voice coming from behind him. "Oh Boss, can I have a word?" For effect and drama rather than intimidation he turned his head back in a way more fitting to an owl than a deer or man.
"What is it?"
"You and I both know that Mimzy only shows up when she needs something . That b*** is trouble. And who knows what kind of demons she f*** with to come running to you this time."
And wasn't this slight underlying tone of mild concern just adorable? Even after all these years, Husker still thought that there was something or someone out there who could harm him, the Radio Demon? And while Alastor did not understand the cat demons bleeding heart for nearly everyone around him now that he was much more sober throughout the day, he thought that perhaps it was only natural for there to be some strange sort attachment Husker must feel for him. How amusing..
"Don't you worry your fuzzy head, Husker.", Alastor said as he ruffled the fur on top of the cat demons head a bit in a gesture that managed to be both condescinding and affectionate. "Who in their right mind would cross me?."
Husker was, as usual, not very appreciative of Alastors gestures.
The tip of a claw touched Alastors chest, something which in any other case would have left the one doing so in quite the painful state.
But this was Husker and Husker did for the most part know how lucky he was.
"You may own my soul but I ain't your f*** pet."
A twist of his spine and a sincere laughter at Huskers expense and Alastor was off.
While he was walking, Alastor said.
"Relax, my feline friend. I was only joking. Or maybe I wasn't."
Another laugh.
"You.. You...", oh Husker was really angry trying to come up with something to mutter under his breath and Alastor was all too happy hear what one of his favorite souls would come up with.
Only to be met with the satsfying "Oh forget it.", as Husker failed to came up with anything.
Yes, everything was just wonderful in this game, once one (Alastor) was able to ignore the King of Hells short little visit.

Pilot!Alastor really just being in the Hotel to have a good and entertaining time with only slightly to hoping to gain more power through Charlies favour looking at the Hotel and everyone in it as his. This is his cat, his maid and fellow maniac, his adopted daughter and her girlfriend. He is not entirely sure how the two others will fit but they are his as well.

On a different note: I know that Alastor probably meant it mostly as something manipulative and to hurt Lucifers pride but I can't help but think that it would be hilarious if Alastor was serious about viewing Charlie as some sort of daughter.
If only because his anger at Lucifer coming to the Hotel and the face he made them Lucifer hugged Charlie and the way Alastor touched and praised Charlie would have meant 'Excuse me, but what are you doing with my daughter. This is now mine so go away.'

"Oh Husker" and the drops of honest regret and emotion in a sea of condescension and sarcasm as Alastor approached a terrified and futally trying to escape Husk made the cat demon shake even more.
"all you had to do was stay drunk and obedient, my friend."
The cat demon tried to bring some distance between them but the chain wouldn't let him.
"But you just had to try for redemption. Had to try to get away from me."
"I.. I never betrayed you. I .. "
"I know, Husker, I know."
And as Alastor finally stood before him, still in his regular form and with something in his eyes that told Husk that maybe the Radio Demon would not entirely enjoy what was about to happen, the last bit of hope left the felines heart. Husks last view at the end of his existence was a deer-man in a red suit smiling down at him with satisfaction mixed with just a twinge of sadness.
This was no threat.
This was no punishment.
"Which is why I intend to make this quick."

How Alastor probably feels about losing Husk
"When I was a kid my scumbag step father once - only once- took us camping. I'd never been out in the woods before, but the time my step father took me there I caught a toad. And I took him home in a box. I fed him bugs that I'd catch, roaches mostly since that's what we had, mostly. After it rained, I'd take it up on the roof of our building too. Seein' it was outside, I figured he'd like to hop around up there, and I think he really did. I like to think that. But this one time..There were older kids up there, and they saw what I had... And they said that there were going to throw my toad off the roof. And they were, I knew it. As I also knew, that I couldn't let them do that. To me. So I did it myself. After, I went down to the street to find it. I looked everywhere. Bu t I never did"
