                    paranoia lingers, even now, breeding hyper vigilance in even the most mundane situations. an acute awareness of everyone’s movements and the way they look. who they look at. he used to live his life loud, but now ? he craves the silence of a quiet existence in which he is unnoticed and leaves no trace. he can’t help noticing the boy though. he remembers when kayla was his age except... kayla never lifted a wallet out of someone’s purse. at last he hopes she hasn’t.... hadn’t. he never saw the body, she might still be alive but he’s hardly holding out hope. he knows better. but he can’t turn away from this. the lingering instinct that picks a child out of a crowd. it’s all he can do to try.
