heyy <3 ok so this is something ive been struggling with for years. like i wake up some days and just feel Eugh way more than id like to. a few things that help me in these situations ~
୨🌸୧ feeling uncomfy with urself & uncomfy in ur own skin
🌸 be gentle with yourself pleasepleaseplease its ok to have bad days its ok to not feel great every day. treat yourself as you would someone you love 🫶
🌸 i know its often told not to go looking at people who are ahead of you in these times but hear me out, i think looking at and observing people you admire who are further ahead of you is very motivating to build yourself up and *become more like them* in your own way. you look up to them because of ___? what can you do to become your own version of that? thinking like this gets me more inspired to just get out of bed because i want to be more like them.
two words for this one - NO. COMPARISON. gaining inspiration from others to better yourself and comparing yourself to others are two completely different things. 🫶
🌸 journal and think and think to urself why u might feel like this or what caused this. when did it start? has anything happened lately that may have caused this? how does it feel, in depth? what can you do to combat this? how can you make it through the day & make it so you do even better tomorrow?
🌸 back to my point on our idols, thinking like them & thinking what they'd do in this situation helps me a lot. personally one of my idols is coco chanel so whenever im really tired and unmotivated or insecure on my abilities or appearance or anything else i think to myself "what would she do?" and 9 times out of 10 im up at my desk in my cutest outfit hard at work. this is def one of my favourite points and something i use on the daily for like literally everything and 100% recommend 💕
🌸 similarly, ask urself what the best version of yourself or the version of urself youre working towards would do in this situation. be your own inspiration. would they stay in bed and rot all day? if the answer is no then ur up. out. immediately. ask urself what they would do. if ur feeling drained, would they take a day off to do some self care and recharge? if ur feeling sad, would they be gentle with themselves and let themselves feel sad for a little while & try to work to the root of the problem?
🌸 make a list of the things that make you the happiest and most comfortable & productive and the things that make you the unhappiest and the opposite of those things. figuring out these will help you find out which negative behaviours or habits are lowering ur vibrations and making u feel like this, and help u to engage more in the things that make you happy with yourself and everything around you 💖

real 'glow up' advice i wish i had

Imagine getting to the point in life where YOU are your own vision board; where you are that girl who has the life that you want, and you don't have to seek it out through other people. That should be the ultimate goal.
Here are subtle things that you should be doing to channel your ideal person and improve yourself for the better FROM THE INSIDE
take care of your hygiene: brush your teeth every day, wash your face with soap, wash your hair, take meaningful showers
be kind to yourself: speak nicely to yourself, treat yourself every now and then, love yourself exactly the way you came
make the effort: do your hair and wear something cute, even if you're only going to the supermarket. I bet your ideal self looks stunning wherever she goes, so make that effort if you really want to become her
move your body: dance to some music for just 5 minutes, take a walk, get off the bus a (reasonable) few stops earlier and walk the rest of the way
romanticise the hell out of your life: wear those bows, create that vision board, play that aesthetic background music even if you're just washing the dishes, wear that outfit!!!!!
admire yourself: look at yourself in the mirror and remember what you look like, take a million selfies to look back and smile at, give yourself a compliment every time you pass your reflection
get creative: if you want cute decor, make it! if you want cute clothes, find some easy DIYs!
focus on what you can control: if you cannot change the situation, let it resolve itself. don't waste your precious time obsessing over something you cannot change
get to know yourself (again): rediscover your hobbies, try new activities, learn to appreciate your solitude, get out of your shell
I really wish I was part of a community like this when I was going through a really insecure and lonely phase of my life.
Instead of deciding to wake up a 3am every day from now on, and trying to reach 20k steps every day, start small and walk your way up to greatness!

BODY GLITTER
exfoliate ur skin weekly (2-3x) 
incorporate pretty words into ur vocabulary 
drinking enough water everyday to be healthy and beautiful

posture is important so sit straight and stand straight 
wear sunscreen on your face and body everyday bcuz spf is important
jewelry to decorate ur body 
carrying lipglosses and hand lotions and perfumes in ur bag for touch ups throughout the day

for journaling, buy a cute journal and journal with scented glitter pens and stickers 
for visual interest 
glitter is very feminine, in makeup, clothing, nails, and on collarbones. when i wear glitter on my skin i feel like a fairy ✨

know what ur undertone is, since i have a warm undertone (gold>silver) 
LONG is the way to go (long nails, lashes, hair, flowy dresses and tops and skirts) 
for the sleek and shiny look (shiny and silky hair, glossy skin and lips) 
glowing up subconsciously
prioritize sleep (sleep 8-10 hours a night)
drink at least 1L of water a day
eat a fruit or veggie with every meal to glow from the inside out
use coconut oil/castor oil on ur lashes and brows every night
facial massage everyday and practice mewing
move your body in a way that feels natural (for example, i go to a school where we have to walk a lot bcuz the campus is big so subconsciously i do LOTS of walking without even thinking of it)
if ur wearing ur hair up/in a protective style, use a hair mask
to look polished and put together
chapped lips are unacceptable, use an overnight lip mask and a hydrating chapstick throughout the day. if u notice ur lips just peeling in general, use an exfoliating scrub/brush ur lips with a toothbrush.
neat hair = a polished look
keep ur nails trimmed, filed, and polished and if u wanna do a little extra get them manicured
address skin concerns so that then you can get glossy skin
make sure all ur metals match and color coordinate
keep it simple
details make a difference
shape ur brows
whiten ur teeth + maintain good oral health

healthy habits i love :)

introduction:
hi loves! i wanted to share some healthy habits that i really enjoy for my body and my mind. these are things that make me feel better and work with my life :)
physical health:
staying active. i have practice for 2 hours on weekdays and like to do home workouts using small dumbells or just pilates on weekends.
stretching. stretching is so important to prevent injuries, improve mobility and balance.
eating 3 meals a day w/ fruits and vegtables.
taking vitamins. i have anemia so i've been taking iron tablets everyday w breakfast to help.
drinking enough water. i always track how much water i have- i usually drink a whole water bottle at school, 70ish% of one at practice, and more water at home.
having a skincare routine.
having a haircare routine & learning to style my hair.
at-home face massage. theyre just really relaxing
mentality/mental:
planning for the future. i like to think about what i'm doing after graduating high school (college) and how i'm going to get into my dream college. i make a plan to follow.
avoiding drama. honestly there's not much drama at my school to begin with, but either way i just avoid talking shit about people
reading! i read every night and when i finish my schoolwork and have nothing to do. it's relaxing
learning about current world events. i also like to stay up to date on what's going on in the world. it can be really sad but i think it’s important to be aware of what happens.
praying. i pray every night and i find it really peaceful and a way to be grateful by thanking God for all sorts of things in my life. sometimes i'll also just pray if i'm anxious, before a water polo game, or really whenever i feel like i should.
gratitude & reflection. i like to reflect on how i'm acting and also remind myself of everything to be grateful for. sometimes really small moments, like when i was getting my braces tightened i thought about how i'm lucky to even get to have dental work done.
journalling. i have a diary i write in every night which is just for fun, and then a spare binder w some lose paper where i vent when i'm feeling bad.
having hobbies. i like to keep myself busy so i have a lot of things i like to do at home like writing, reading, photography, sewing.
having a clean space. i keep my room clean (nothing on the floor, everything where it needs to be) and cleaning my backpack just so everything is easy to find and get.
beginning:
the key to growing is literally just doing small things everyday. overnight change is never attainable. if you want to add different habits/change something you need to make small, attainable, adjustments everyday.
do the best with what you have. this is the biggest point. there are certain things you might not be able to do because of your circumstances, so just do the best with what you have right now.
self respect. and of course, healthy self improvement is based in loving yourself and wanting to be better for the sake of improving your life. this is a whole journey within itself.
