People are leaving out something that seems pretty obvious to me in this conversation about trauma dumping. This "just let people open up" stuff is absolutely not applicable irl. If anything, I strongly discourage it. You don't live in bluey or whatever kids cartoon all of you are watching now. people can be dangerous, manipulative and cruel. And unfortunately a lot of people don't realise this until the wrong information gets to the wrong person.

An abuser can get a full map of all your vulnerabilities, and for what ? because someone told you that you should just "open up". And you know what some people simply don't have the range to handle your pain, you need to be selective with who you share with??? That's self esteem 101. Not everyone deserves to know.

It's always "ughhh no one cares about human connection anymore" baby girl they will connect over talking about you in a group chat that you don't know about.

I get that it sounds nice but this idea everyone is spreading is kinda naive and childish actually. Keep you secrets locked up until you find a person who's earned your trust, that person would never accuse you of "trauma dumping".
