✮ his parents && audrey are all too fond of his imaginary friends. little do they know, the toddler is visited by multiple duel spirits, all in the gem- family. the first? gem-knight master diamond, he who is multiple && one all the same. his presence is familiar, as if it's always been there.

✮ the knight's name is aulus, so he says. ouza is far too young to understand why the knight's hands tremble. such is the burden of those who possess true sight.

✮ as time passes, more && more arrive, && ouza's family grows. aulus is never far from his charge.

✮ but they can only do so much when the monster none of them saw coming is a hand too close. audrey is arrested.

6 - 11.

✮ the gem creatures grow more protective of their young charge. aulus often stays with the boy, && if that is not possible, one of the gem merchants will. They can rush back home fastest if anything bad were to happen.

✮ ouza is called to testify against audrey. some of his innocence is ripped away.

✮ ouza, is home-schooled, causing the already withdrawn boy to further retreat inside himself.

✮ in an attempt to help, alongside therapy, even though they didn't believe it was helping, they get ouza a dog. a massive puppy, a tibetan mastiff. the dog feels familiar, as if they were meant to be best friends. despite the male stamping the puppy's purebred papers, she is named elizabeth. lizz has no issues with this. the dog is as white as snow if not for the reddish tint claiming her muzzle.

✮ ouza, with this puppy by his side, ends up finally venturing outside.

✮ the knights are so proud.

✮ ouza continues to collect cards && familiarize himself with the outskirts. he's not brave enough yet to wander into town.

✮ a whole year passes before the boy finally enters the heart of Domino City, just as seto kaiba organizes the "Legend Tournament." He joins with some reluctance. He had never played before. How would it even work? It's a point-based speed dueling tournament. Multiple famous duelists are expected to appear as one's ranking increases.

✮ he meets the four heavenly kings.

✮ ouza tears through the competition, besting duelists from all over domino city: mutou yuugi, katsuya jounouchi, hiroto honda, mazaki anzu, && kaiba seto. other famous duelists make their appearance as well, fighting just as hard, if not harder. insector haga comes to mind.

✮ ouza is granted the rank of king of games .

✮ during the competition, ouza meets a millennium item-controlled marik. despite marik's best efforts, ouza seems fairly resistant. this only makes the spirit host confused. he tries a different method. in turn, ouza awakes to a mind space filled with... interesting fellows.

✮ ouza is left in his mind space alone, an empty area until the first figure comes to light. It's impossible to tell if these people are real or not, but Ouza's gut tells him these people are real. Which was impossible, he'd seen these picture in fiction, && yet?

✮ unbeknownst to him at the time, this is his first true awakening in the world that connects all worlds. He duels these figures: Yuuki Juudai, Fudou Yuusei, Tsukumo Yuuma, && Sakaki Yuuya.

✮ Ouza climbs the ranks until he wins the world championship: Junior Circuit.

✮ In an instant, his life - once stable - is turned into a grand whirlwind.

13 - 14.

✮ ouza wins the world championships.

✮ he begins to close off, soon hardly entertaining or doing more "childish antics" as reviews come raving in. adults push him to an extreme, && he begins to shut down as a coping mechanism.

✮ as his time overseas grows, the boy grows colder. the knights worry, but they know better than to stick their hands in someone's needed development. they watch, worried, but silent.

✮ ouza competes in more high-ranking tournaments, never losing. as time goes on, the closed-off boy ends up gaining a moniker for his emotionless reactions. "Perfect Duelist."

14 - ???

✮ ouza returns to japan for a short stint after his friend, goblin-san, a homely card shop manager, asks for a favor. he's to show up for an exhibition match for their small tournament.

✮ ouza, hardened by the year overseas && adult cruelty, is shown to be as ferocious as ever on the battlefield; though kind && friendly when reunited with the four heavenly kings.

✮ ouza meets yusa shouma officially, getting along with the other quickly, though shows jealousy + envy at the other's relationships with the quartet. he decides to hide this pain away, preferring not to let it show.

✮ he duels shouma for the tournament's exhibition match, scaring the youth with his cold-blooded battle demeanor. ouza wins.

✮ the tournament continues, with ouza watching from the sidelines, inwardly bothered by his inability to join the tournament, given that he was part of the prize for the victor.

✮ shouma eventually wins both the prize && the right to duel him once more. ouza seems surprised just how... much the boy wanted him to open up && see him smile again. the duel, for better or for once, does have ouza playing && acting like a child again. naturally, as any child does, he throws a small fit over losing.

✮ in his short time left, the crowd seemed surprised by his loss, but they take it... well enough. though, it doesn't take long for the pride in the star to ebb away && rumors sprout. though, those who were important understood.

✮ still, that moment is fleeting, as are all moments, && ouza is once again on a plane back overseas, his giant canine in tow. likely to compete in more tournaments.
