On Wednesday, May 27, 2015, Long Beach Police murdered Feras Morad. He was completely unarmed, and severely injured after falling out of a second floor window. He was confused, he was hurt, and he needed help. Instead a coward with a badge and a gun gave him three gunshots.
This is a continued and systemic problem with the Long Beach Police Department who have a terrifyingly high rate of officer involved shootings. This is also a part of the continued problem of racist and white supremacist police who believe they get to be the jury, judge, and executioner when interacting with people of color. This was an extrajudicial execution at the hands of a racist institution.

Even though I didn’t debate at the TOC’s this year… I found this article super relatable and helpful. There’ve been tournaments this year where I walked in and felt ready to dominate; hoping to go 6-0 and win, but then went 1-5. Awkward. There's always room for improvement - this article by HS Impact defiantly gives great tips of how to do so
