I don't think it's projection, rather than calling out Sansa stans that she indeed, wasn't a good/nice sister and diminishing it to 'just siblings being siblings' is wrong when we have other Stark sibling relationships to see their's weren't like that, as well as the literal author saying they will obviously have stuff to work out if they reunite.
If Arya proceeded to torment Sansa about the state of the body of their dead friend and saying it was her fault he died, I'm sure people would be calling Arya a psychopath.
I'm confused about the "sexism in the fandom" in the tags, there's nothing sexist to call out mischaracterization of female characters. It's very often the Sansa stans that diminish, or erase her canon faults. They also love to make fanons where they take from other female characters and even erase and re-write what's in the books or even steal people's art and put Sansa into it instead of the female character that was there before. It's not "pitting women against each other". It is calling out mischaracterization, or the diminishing of horrible behaviour. If you have a problem with women being mean to other women, take it up with the author.
It's also tiring how Sansa stans resort to calling others misogynistic for not liking Sansa or stating her canon faults, while simultaneously being team green and being misogynistic to Daenerys, oftentimes calling her a tyrant for killing slavers.
It's not a 'projection of mean girl issues', take that up with the author then. And if you "don't want to see negativity", don't make negative posts lol.

Only sansa stans can manage to make it so easy to roast Sansa and them due to being the âšmost stupid arrogant illiterates everâš
They agitate everybody so many people as backlash rip Sansa apart (still less excessively than her stans do with literally every other character) point out all her flaws, shortcomings, lack of development, and skills for their toxic behavior like being unable to keep other character's name out of their mouth, steal from others, make up and exaggerate Sansa's alleged skills and traits, while simultaneously downplay or vilify everybody else. But what's truly sad, is that the majority of her 'haters' would probably forget about Sansa's existence was it not for her stans. đ€Ą

Mothering monsters
I'm not sure if this means anything but I was thinking about how, in ADWD, Dany reflects:
Mother of dragons, Daenerys thought. Mother of monsters. What have I unleashed upon the world? A queen I am, but my throne is made of burned bones, and it rests on quicksand. Without dragons, how could she hope to hold Meereen, much less win back Westeros? I am the blood of the dragon, she thought. If they are monsters, so am I.
ADWD, Dany II
And then there's Val, the girl who Jon is crushing on, and she acts as a surrogate mother to Gilly's baby whom [Val] names 'Monster':
[Jon] "I have heard you singing to him." [Val] "I was singing to myself. Am I to blame if he listens?" A faint smile brushed her lips. "It makes him laugh. Oh, very well. He is a sweet little monster." "Monster?" "His milk name. I had to call him something. See that he stays safe and warm. For his mother's sake, and mine. And keep him away from the red woman. She knows who he is. She sees things in her fires." "Kings and dragons." Dragons again. For a moment Jon could almost see them too, coiling in the night, their dark wings outlined against a sea of flame. "If she knew, she would have taken the boy away from us. Dalla's boy, not your monster. A word in the king's ear would have been the end of it." And of me. Stannis would have taken it for treason. "Why let it happen if she knew?"
ADWD, Jon VIII And who knows what Jon is returning as himself? What is he? Fire wight, he's already a warg, he could be walking the planes of Planetos as a resurrected human, a zombie, the Others...
"Can they talk?" asked Jon Snow. "I think not, but I cannot claim to know. Monsters they may be, but they were men before they died. How much remains? The one I slew was intent on killing Lord Commander Mormont. Plainly it remembered who he was and where to find him." Maester Aemon would have grasped his purpose, Jon did not doubt; Sam Tarly would have been terrified, but he would have understood as well. "My lord father used to tell me that a man must know his enemies. We understand little of the wights and less about the Others. We need to learn."
ADWD, Jon VIII I am high

Alright, people dislike her because she was mocking/demeaning and that she's a classist. The others also disliked him.. and they weren't bastards. I don't understand this tactic Sansa stans do where they play dumb to try to and make arguments. It's embarrassing. Also it wasn't just as simple as "Jon is jealous", he had valid reasons to dislike him, again as did the other.. sharper siblings.
And ofc it's a Jonsa shipper "they're fighting without even interacting" what is this oh my lawd đ.
Also what is it with Jonsa shippers liking to demean Jon? This person has more Jonsa posts and they do it too. They treat Jon as if he was some retriever puppy wanting to be kicked around by Sansa. I've noticed this pattern and it's WEIRD. Maybe they like to act dumb innocent "it's just the truth" defense for Sansa because they like to put him down themselves? Just a thought.
#no seriously#its weird#it looks like some degradation kink with how Sansa/Jonsa stans treat Jon#it gives me icky feeling whenever i see it#asoiaf#jon snow#anti sansa stark stans#anti sansa stans

The thing about those who want to prove that Dany is a ruthless queen is that they focus on some actions of hers isolated, without taking a look at the bigger picture.
" Oh, the horrors! Dany made a deal with Good Masters but she betrayed them and burned them instead of honouring the deal".
Well, even setting aside that while they were negotiating they said all kind of gross things about Dany herself (bc they thought she couldn't understand their language), they profited by the Unsullied ( soldier slaves) they trained and the way they treated them was inhumane.
And Dany didn't order the Unsullied to do anything. She set them free and they out of their own volution decided to join her against their former masters.

The She-Wolves of Winterfell, Arya and Lyanna Stark
âYou have a wildness in you, child. âThe wolf blood,â my father used to call it. Lyanna had a touch of itâ

I used to mainly blame it on the show, that it got people who didn't read the books mixed, but such problems aren't in Lotr fandom and others. At least not to this extent. You hit the nail on the head - there is too much time until the end and people look too deeply into things and make theory after theory to fill in that gap of time. Some forget the original context of certain things even I've noticed. I'll ask them more about the original context, because I have no clue what they're on, despite re-reading the books every year (don't judge me pls) and they'll straight up say "I don't remember".
if you needed any proof that asoiaf readers are the most illiterate motherfuckers on earth, just look at the comments on this art
it could not be MORE obvious that this is rhaegar and lyanna just by the glance at the blue roses and YET these people are like âhmmmmm yeah this is probably rhaegar and lyanna BUT maybe just maybe these are some other characters?
âwould they really spoil lyanna = knightâ THIS really isnt a spoiler in the slighest, itâs obvious that it was her when you connect those little dots đ
im gonna say, this is a good indication that these people are so deep in their own delusions that once TWOW will get released and none of their expert predictions happen they will be very disappointed

I find it also interesting how people so easily excuse someone being toxic because "it's a sibling duuh". A parent can be verbally abusive, so can a sibling. Hell, I've seen lot of people defending Sansa by telling on their sibling - how their sibling beat them physically and that it's normal..
Genuinely sickening how often I see "my bro punches me, y'all are oversensitive".
(I also get jokes between siblings, but there's a difference between both siblings being in on the jokes vs. being literally bullied and the older sibling being friends with one of the bullies, not just "die for them" Sansa didn't even have her back).
It's always those "you all need to stfu" people that didn't read the books and think it's the former and have a weird Disney-princess view on Sansa in the books.
I mean, should George "stfu" as well, since he said they obviously have stuff they need to work out?

Op was talking about the Stark girls but the problem with this take is that Sansa called Arya ugly AND would also never die for her lol. In fact, she actively risked Aryaâs life/safety multiple times be it the Trident incident, telling the entire court that Arya has traitorâs blood while she herself was a âgood girlâ, telling Cersei about Nedâs plan, etc etc. and never reflects upon it. She still blames Arya for Ladyâs death in A Clash of Kings đ
Iâm sorry but Sansaâs dislike of Arya runs deep. Far deeper than any negativity that might be felt in reverse lbr. And it may not be as bad as say, Cersei and Tyrion, but it also doesnât have to be for it to still be considered negative.
Iâm just so baffled by the insistence that this fundamental aspect of their relationship be denied.
Name one moment of Sansa being selfless for Arya or standing up for her in any way. Name top three moments of Sansa saying or thinking anything positive specifically about Arya! (Vaguely remembering her existence in her idealized memories of Winterfell doesnât count btw) They both care about each other as family, sure. But whereâs the actual love yâall keep talking about?
I think the biggest evidence of the sheer dearth of positivity between these girls is the fact that Arya and Sansa are both POV characters with some of the highest chapter counts in the series, theyâve interacted with each other both in their own chapters and in otherâs, and have thought about each other multiples times even after theyâve gone their separate ways. Yet the most ââpositiveââ quote this fandom has of them is Nedâs âsun and moonâ comment. (And for context, this quote was said by Ned after Arya was angry at Sansa for victim-blaming Mycah for his own murder soâŠ..lol)
In the combined 50 something chapters these girls have, the fact that the âStark sisters LOVE each other!!!! đ€Źâ crowd has just that one quote spoken by their dad who was basically giving his daughter a lecture and nothing from the girls themselves is justâŠ. sad tbh. Imagine if we were constantly told of the strength and love between Jon Snow and Aryaâs relationship and the only evidence was Theonâs âLord Starkâs sullen bastard has always been fond of his half-sister Aryaâ.
Sad.
There used to be this trite, overused comeback made by Sansa/Stark Sisters fans that went:
âUmm if Arya knew you were saying anything bad about Sansa she would fucking HATE you!!!!!â
and maybe so! Aryaâs very empathetic and has been shown to defend Sansa and get upset on her sisterâs behalf multiple times! But would the reverse be true?
Would Sansa hate me if I said negative things about Arya? And if so, where are the textual evidence for this? Because Nedâs âsun and moon; you share dnaâ is not cutting it Iâm afraid đ

ARYA STARK APPRECIATION MONTH 2022
Day 17: Relationship with Trauma
She could feel the hole inside her every morning when she woke. It wasnât hunger, though sometimes there was that too. It was a hollow place, an emptiness where her heart had been, where her brothers had lived, and her parents. Her head hurt too. Not as bad as it had at first, but still pretty bad. Arya was used to that, though, and at least the lump was going down. But the hole inside her stayed the same. The hole will never feel any better,  she told herself when she went to sleep. Some mornings Arya did not want to wake at all. She would huddle beneath her cloak with her eyes squeezed shut and try to will herself back to sleep. If the Hound would only have left her alone, she would have slept all day and all night. - Arya XII, A Storm of Swords
