if a doll’s joint has no elastic running through it, it’s not. a. ball. joint.

doesn’t matter is if it’s spherical.  doesn’t matter if it’s friction fit, with no hinges or pivots or other attachments (like an old clone doll’s spherical neck knob.)  a ball jointed doll has string or elastic holding everything together, and a doll with friction and hinges and pivots and anything but string/elastic is not a ball jointed doll.

When I was a kid, moose were scarce here, now there is quite a lot of them in the woods around. Slowing down while driving through a foresty areas at night is something that kept me from hitting several of these huge things. They really reflect no light and are barely visible when crossing the road in front of you. The last time I met one of them, at first it seemed like there were several small moving spots - I thought foxes or hares - but I stepped on the brake and stopped my car just to let a gracious Moose Lady cross the street in an unhuried manner. It was her moving hooves that I saw before braking hard, not the whole creature.
