     The very slim possibility that, somehow, his identity had been revealed, and now this young man was fully aware of who he was and---to some extent---why he was here was troubling. Very troubling. But there is no evidence of concern on his face; no, he’s long mastered the art of transparency.

So, he sighs.

❝ yes, you’ve found me out. ❞

And then he lies.

❝ i’m hideki ryuuga. ❞ Tactical.❝ i did score perfectly on the to-oh entrance exam, but... ❞

     In his defense, times like these warrant caution. He’s lived his life effectively hiding nearly every aspect of his existence from the world as a whole, and, at the risk of placing too much faith in any one tactic, he believes it is this habit that has kept him (more or less) alive. Still, a public setting allows for significantly less hiding---and that includes even the most subtle of actions.

Namely, staring.

They’re likely equally aware of the fact, but he states it plainly anyway.

    Staring, staring---it’s always staring. No, not staring---assessing; gathering; deducing. There are several questions assaulting the forefront of his attention, each demanding (with equal fervor) an answer to accompany them. And he’s having a bit of trouble heeding what could possibly be his social mannerisms (they’re telling him to say something, at least, to justify this rudeness) when his collective conscious is so busy trying to figure out what.

Why?

And, perhaps the most important, how?
