When it comes to Miles situation, it’s not a “which team are you on”, its more of a lose-lose situation.

Miles wants to save his father because he doesn’t want to lose him and he finds Miguel’s rules a bunch of bs. Therefore, no matter what anyone says, he is going to save his father.

But, as Miguel stated, the more captains you the save, the more universes that gets killed off. (But then again only one or two universes got destroyed so he can be totally wrong)

If Miles lets the canon event play out, he will lose his father.
